Fantastic episode as always. This is so true to real life, I can't tell how many times I've been in Hina's position, even though I never got it handled nearly as well. The new teacher was awesome... now if I'm not mistaken, isn't he one of the shogi guys? He looks like one of them...

Wait Wait Wait, So the teachers hear and see what the bullies are doing but there is no proof!? That is some mighty fine logic. But damn I love Hina. The way she confronted that bitch.

Another episode that wrecked me.....this is so good

What's really interesting is after seeing several teachers failing to act for whatever reasons in other shows and media to see a teacher completely breaking down because of her inability to act and help victims of bullying. She's sort of like a victim too in a way.

So glad someone finally stepped up who wasn't afraid to confront a parent. Felt like screaming for joy at the end

That was a relief when Hina took the role of the big Sis since Akari is really, really too pure (nice) for this world.

The new teacher is how ... any teacher should be. Another great character in this show. It never ends.

The true evil : parents protecting their kids no matter what. I so wish I will never have to deal with this kind of shit people.

About the old teacher, she's real. I mean, she remembered me one I once had, for my last year she left with a depression as well. She was somewhat dumb and had no authority. The class was so noisy with her. The difference was huge with the other "normal" classes.

Some people should never become teachers. They're just too weak psychologically.

Great episode, once again!

If i was a 2D character my fist would have landed squarely on the nose of Takagi's mom. No wonder her daughter is a bully and a hateful person.

Luckily the new teacher seems like a more intelligent and mentally robust character who is going to be able to deal with the problems in this class.

6/5- Akari steps up, Hinata steps up some more and finally a teacher steps up! This episode shows us that the series can still be great even without Rei.

In my opinion, this was the strongest episode of the season. The art and animation was on point, the directing was fluid and the lighting was perfect for each scene. Shaft continues to prove to me why it's arguably the best studio out there.

Special mention to HanaKana for her voice acting in this as well. Every word that came out of Hina's mouth felt so damn genuine. Her anger and frustration in her voice made things feel that more tense. On top of that, the delivery was near perfect with her tone changing during pivotal moments in her monologue and the brief pauses between each statement to let her words sink in a bit before moving on prevented her speech sounding like she's just spewing out lines.

Also, that teacher break down scene was done super well. I hated that teacher but that scene did made me feel some sympathy for her...despite me wanting to tear her head off all season. Watching her slowly fall into madness over the situation was a real treat. The way she was acting made me feel uneasy and worried for the students there. Luckily she went on a sabbatical to take better care of herself.

That scene with the mom though is a different story...Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the Cunt Tree. She raise valid points in protecting her child and how it can be all made up by Hinata. I kinda expected that from any parent to be honest, believing in my child until proven guilty....though she was quite aggressive in her statements to Akari. Poor Akari, I know she's new to this whole situation and all but damn, what an opponent she has to overcome. Hopefully this whole situation is resolved soon, I can't stand watching these two sweet souls cry. I'm glad that the new teacher is trying to view things from his perspective alone rather than jump to conclusions like the previous teacher did. I was so happy to see him slam the same reasoning the Cunt Mom threw at Akari right back at her. This guy gives me hope for a better school life for Hinata.

Anyways, I had my doubts with Unison Square Garden playing the new OP but that's a pretty good song. That new ED song though, god damn I love it. The visuals for both the OP and ED were superb as well.

This was an amazing and powerful episode, it was also intense. The new OP and ED are pretty good. Hina's teacher is hospitalized because she couldn't handle what's going on in her class. The bullying was happening constantly, but she turned a blind eye. It's her own fault. Hina standing up to Takagi was great. I'm proud she did that. The new teacher is awesome. He put Takagi's mom in her place. It's a relief to see a teacher do something useful. Hina firing herself up to keep on fighting was epic. She has so much courage.

That new teacher is the best. The way he dissolved the bullying situation between the two families in 30 seconds was amazing.

Powerful episode! I'm so happy that Hina finally shouted her voice out about the bullying incident. The old girl teacher collapsed and taken to the hospital due to her anxiety about it. There's no proof thing in cases such as bullying. Only the victim and the bully can state their own evidence. The new teacher was kind enough to settle down everything. Akari and Hina should let themselves be in their peace of mind now. The new OP and ED were fantastic. Unison Square Garden is one of my favorite Japanese band and I never get disappointed to their new songs.

3-gatsu no Lion is really my favorite anime since I can relate myself truly into it. It has wonderful characters and proper developments to them. Thanks to Shaft for adapting this in outstanding manner, the animation is high quality and some of their arts are beautiful.

another great episode and very intense in a lot of parts. as someone who works in a school setting, I can really understand the feelings of both the teachers in this episode. I've never had the urge to punch a little girl until I saw Takagi. but like Hina said, that wouldn't do any good.

Love the new OP. The ED is still loading because anime hates me right now.

Anyway, seeing the original teacher's side + her collapsing was interesting. I didn't think they'd go that route, but it's true that everyone gets anxiety from time to time. Everyone has their own truth. Excited for next week's ep.

When I think this can't get any better, it gets.
The scene where Hina runs to the bully girl and then stops is just awesome. Honestly, I wish she would just beat her the fuck up, but she's completely right. That would be playing right into her hands.

Man I almost had a heart atk the first couple min when the ep started, knew it was all a set up, and when Hina ran up to her I was like just screaming no no pls dont hit her, it was great to see Akari to show some courage and speak back but it was sad that she gave up and didn't fight back with the bully's mother, I was so hoping that Akari would use her words back at her, but this sub homeroom teacher is doing a good job, hopefully his involvement doesn't bring a bigger issue into the problem. What Hina been thourgh is making her such a strong character, love her development Looking forward for the next ep.

If the mother really needs that "proof" Chiho is already the living proof.

Ahhh, that was wonderful! I was not looking forward to a new OP and ED because I loved the previous ones so much but I should have known better. As soon as I heard the familiar sound of Unison Square Garden I about fell off my chair and how about that ED? Woah!

As for the episode I can't even express how much I loved it. I really wish the head teacher was permanent and not just a fill in for Hina's class. He's right up there with Hayashida in the awesome department.

I love this story and this season has been fantastic so far.

I somewhat expected the head teacher to apologize, in some way, to Hina for not being able to protect Chiho, but we will see where this goes. Also do not exactly like new OP and ED sequences, especially the second part of the ED.

Some phrase translations are indeed presented "not-exactly-finely", so without some knowledge of Japanese it will take more than one attempt to get the actual meaning.

The head teacher is indeed the MVP. He saw through everything, dealt with it cooling and didn't mince his words one bit when confronted by the Takagi parent.

Hina is amazing as well, for someone who is only in middle school to have the fortitude to stand up against adversity thrown at her and at the same time keeping her head cool.

This show is really on a roll with the current storyline progression being nothing short of 10/10 excellent week after week.

As I've said recently, this is wat I like about this anime. I don't care about shogi, all I want is drama and human emotions. That's what this whole episode's about and it still isn't enough for me.

They've continued the bullying drama so well. It's been really powerful, the effect it's had on the homeroom teacher and this complicated attempt to resolve the issue. Akari has been so supportive and of course it's a lot for her to deal with as someone who's really had to be a mother figure despite being so young and just their sister. I like this head teacher, let's hope that we can get this resolved. Also! They need to weave Rei back into this. I don't want the bullying story to remain too separate from him. Have him there when they return from the meeting.

And I thought that episode 4 was perfection and that it couldn't be matched. Boy was I VERY wrong indeed! =D

The way that this bullying saga has been handled has left my emotions like a roller coaster. From shock, happiness, anger and tears, this arc has been truly memorable and brilliant. =)

Hina's homeroom teacher was starting to snap under anxiety and pressure from the whole saga herself, which left the whole class shocked. I will admit that seeing her collapse like this is a sad sight to see, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for her after her role in Chiho being moved away due to her negligence on her part.

Her replacement, the head teacher, was very straight to the point with his talk to the whole class that made me smile.

The confrontation between Takegi and her mum against Akari and Hina left me feeling with dread at the start. I was hoping that Takegi's mother would be decently reasonable, but that hope of mine melted away quickly as she was as much of a prick as her daughter. When Akari was left in a bind, Hina stepped in to save her as the head teacher came back.

During the whole spat between the two, when Takegi's mother fired off the word "proof", I was really hoping that Akari had the courage to fire the word back at her. So, seeing the head teacher put the mother in her place by saying that very word afterwords made me cheer in satisfaction and delight.

Not to forget, the infirmary scene between Akari and Hina was very touching and powerful. Hina's iron-clad resolve and determination was really admirable and moving. ^_^

Lastly, the new OP song by Unison Square Garden was better than I thought it would be, considering the style they went with for Welcome To The Ballroom before. The ED song was excellent and both had some amazing visuals and animation from Shaft once again. Great stuff. =3

What a way to start the first episode of this show in 2018. Simply perfect...
