Oh man One Punch Man S2 is gonna be good as fuck since it'll be covering the parts of the manga where Saitama takes a backseat and the supporting cast starts carrying the story. Kinda excited tbh, hopefully the comedy transitions better this time around

Thank you.
I'm looking forward to OPM S2 as well. Also, Nanatsu no Taizai, Attack on Titan, Code Geass R3, Magi?, Shippuden maybe finally ending, and Toei maybe pulling themselves together for the next One Piece arc.

I hope that Code Geass R3 comes soon, and that Jojo Part 5 can hold the fuck off until I finish watching Diamond is Unbreakable.

Also that Vrains is better than ARC-V, because whew- the latter has become an absolute clusterfuck in the past 2 months.

Not yet. I couldn't bear the awfully slow pace around the middle, so I'm holding off.....possibly until the next arc is completed.

oh man kamen rider fource gets even more fun after the 2nd kamen rider gets introduced. This has been a treat to get together with friends every friday to watch 6 episodes. I think by the time we finish the semester might be nearing an end so its a nice excuse to get everyone together during work heavy times.

The Bruce Lee sounds were great

Speaking of which, one of the neat things with Fourze was the choreography, especially the way they integrated the wacky switches into fights. The Riders had a lot of personality because of it. Other series I've seen are lot more cgi heavy which can really take away from the action

the cgi is genuinly puke worthy for the most part so it being so reliant on just normal fighting is great.

isnt it kind of par for the course for yugioh shows to fuck up in its final stretch or generally peak before said stretch, I know yugioh GX peaks massively in season 3 for example?

Well that's true considering season 4 of GX to be downhill from previous season and 5D's who can never reach the same height after Dark Signer. An exception is Zexal who manage to be an improvement from second season until finish except for forced happy finale. Though Zexal first season is crap but they manage to save it on the second season with Vector.

> Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai

by nisekoi spin-off mangaka, the art is nice... character also likeable.. but the plot doesn't interest me.. hope next chapter pick it up...

> U19

meh, too over the top yet had to taken seriously... not my kind of story... i'll just wait...

> Poro no Ryuugakuki

MC is too precious... he is soo freaking cute... hope it can deliver something...

> Harapeko no Marie

decent start.. the art like carbon copy of beelzebub (not that i dislike it)... but high possibly tu turn the way i dislike, but as long as it still funny, i would read it...

So many people that dismiss Harapeko no Marie already just because gender bender themes will be in it seemingly from that first chapter. Had a conversation with someone that dropped it already just after first chapter just because he found that disgusting and it only belongs in shitty hentai... way to not give it a chance, it is Beelzebub mangaka so it's still good...

It should be a crime against humanity to create an MC so adorable, seriously. The art is really nice too, but the first chapter overall did almost nothing for me (aside from having me gushing over how cute Poro is, that is) because most of the jokes didn't quite land and I don't really see it going in any interesting direction. Pulling off a satisfying narrative with an OP protagonist isn't that easy, and I'm not sure the author set up his/her story in a way that allows for more than just a bunch of cute/funny situations and your occasional demon of the week to up the stakes.

I hope I'm wrong though, I need more of this Poro kid in my life.

not that i disagree, hence why i keep my opinion vague... but it's still first chapter, so i simply wait to more chapter to be more spesific... however, that's one thing that i already sure... MC is soo freaking cute...

Reading Sangokushi is making me crave for more RotTK based fiction. The only issue being, pretty much anything I'm interested is either ongoing or in some sort of translation limbo ;_;. It's so bad that I'm replaying the Koihime Musou visual novel (not that I'm not enjoying it) while I'm waiting for the live action show to download.

Koihime Musou is as un-3kingdoms as it gets. I still enjoyed it too

The 2010 series? Awkward battles aside, it's pretty great, with a top Cao Cao. Not enough Wei and Jin though ;_;

Yup, the 2010 series seems like a more ambitious project than the 90's show, even though I've read opinions about the older show being better. I might check the older one as well, seeing as xPearse has started encoding it in better quality.

I'm having a blast with Sangokushi (nearing the 40th volume). As ashamed I'm to admit, I haven't read the original novel as it was never translated in my country, so this the next best thing after only being exposed to second hand information and loosely based adaptations. Yokoyama handled the scope masterfully, and the pacing is great, the exposition is given in just the right quantities and at the right moment so that the manga doesn't devolve into either a wartime slaughterfest or an infodump galore. The only thing I wish was slightly different is the attention given to both Wu and Wei. I'm under the suspicion that even the original novel might've glorified Shu way too much, haha. I mean, despite being glorious, Zhuge Liang was basically given an entire introductory volume, while most of Cao Cao's men didn't get as much as a single chapter.

I'll certainly be on the lookout for Yokoyama's other works. Particularly hyped for Genghis Khan and Date Masamune, Mars seems it could be a gem as well.

I'll certainly be on the lookout for Yokoyama's other works. Particularly hyped for Genghis Khan and Date Masamune, Mars seems it could be a gem as well.

If you like Sangokushi's storytelling, then the novel would probably be a worthwhile read for you, but the availability is definitely a bummer. I'm not a fan of what I've seen of the old English translation that's easily found online, but it's probably serviceable if you're desperate. The novel surprised me with how much you can read between the lines - the somewhat dry way events are presented gives a lot of room for interpretation. The similarities to Tanaka Yoshiki's plotting also really stands out - really, most LoGH fans should be getting into RoTK.

From what I saw of the 90s show, it's pretty much a 1:1 adaptation of the events in the novel, which rendered it rather stuff. It's also campy as, and I don't think there are any proper eng subs out there. So it has its charms, but the 2010 series is definitely much more viewable - and enjoyable imo.

Staying close to the novel unfortunately seems to make the 'Shu bias' inevitable, and even 2010's somewhat more liberal adaptation suffers from that, though I think it was somewhat a choice of necessity. You'll barely see Wu, though Wei Cao Cao and Sima Yi do get their time in the sun - there's just so much cut out even with the whopping 95 eps. Funnily enough, the Koei RoTK games seem to give the characters/figures the most nuance/(historical) accuracy out of all the 3kingdoms media I've come across

And yeah, Sangokushi seemed to be a pretty close adaptation of the novel (Yoshikawa's retelling, actually!) and so it's definitely centred around Liu Bei/Kongming/Shu, which iirc resonated with Japan for those brotherhood/loyalty/sacrifice/righteousness themes and whatnot - at least in the popular imagination. Definitely, it's great how Yokoyama/Yoshikawa obviously have a more nuanced take on things than the cartoonier videogame archetypes that we tend to see.

Of the Yokoyama I've read, Genghis is somewhat more on the 'epic' personal-dramatic side, but Date will scratch a similar itch. And so far, the Shiji is just based since it's basically a highlight reel. Since you're liking Sangokushi, you can definitely look forward to them.

Araki's mentioned in an interview that some people are afraid to approach him since they think he'll act like Rohan.

The Gantz O movie is dank af

I can tell that from the first 5 minutes

also dat english dub hnnngh

the movie has probably some of the best CGI in anime ever seen. Even if you take into account stuff like the Captain Harlock film etc

I started reading the manga a while back, on chapter 17. Should i just watch the movie since it looks dope af or finish reading the manga first?
