| The show itself was great, but the fansubers ruined the watched. God damn Commie with their german nonsense. If nobody will sub this properly, probably will drop it. Though it would be a shame, the show is pretty interesting. |

| Had a Strike Witches feel about it. And of course Upotte. The first ep was a bit boring, when the half way mark came I thought it was over, was surprised when I checked how far I had gotten :P But not Hyouka first ep boring, didn't feel like sleeping in this one :P |

| The translation group is brilliant for adding German words in there really adds nicely to this anime. I actually saw some of the manga a few weeks ago and i was really enthusiastic about this anime high school girls driving in WW2 tanks is a really nice idea. This episode was different from the manga but i really liked it also didn't read enough of the manga to see they where on a ship that also appears to be from WW2. The characters aren't all together yet but for now we already had a pretty nice group so far. |

Regardless of whether it was actually the anime's merits or just my derangement from lack of sleep, this anime gets: First impression: 7/10 xD Much better start than Upotte. |

| Based on my memory of their looks, but on the first few minutes alone there is a Panzer III, a Panzer IV, a Type 95, a M3 Lee, and weirdly a StuG III. Mathilda II and Churchill are also mentioned. |

I should be already used to the extreme bizarreness of the Japanese media, but this is taking it to a whole new level. I wasn't exactly sure whether I should laugh or not, so for most of the episode my mouth was twisted in a strange grimace bordering between a grin and scornful pout. Dropped. Not because of awful CGI, or sheer folly - it's just that I found it utterly disconcerting. There's just no way for me to enjoy it. |

| The show is surprisingly solid. I love the animation of a view from a turret hatch as the tank moves. The girls of the student council are pretty cool. And we should see some back story of the characters starting from the heroine herself in later episodes. Since I watched the show without English sub I don't know whether it got subbed or not, but some of the things written on the club application form is pretty funny. For example it includes a clearly non-existent "study" name Sendo 仙道, which means the Way of Hermit-Wizard (LOL). The premise of the whole Senshado (Way of Tanks) is likely to be based on 長刀道 (Naginata-do), which is another "study" the girls can pick in the club application form. Unlike Sendo it indeed exists in Japan, and it is similar to "Senshado" in that Naginata, the long halberd-like "knife on a pole" weapon, was originally a weapon used mostly by men but later transformed into a type of martial art mainly practiced by women. Here "senshado" is the same - once a deadly weapon used only to kill but now it is a way for females to perfect themselves in mental and physical abilities. And the ending is amazing. I read that the place Ooarai (which also is part of the school name) indeed exists (in Ibaraki Prefecture) and the anime has some scenes based on the city, but I would never imagine to see this city would in fact rest on a gigantic carrier on sea! So suddenly the whole worldview shifted -- and I don't really know what the anime is going to do with this strange setting. |

From her flashback though, could it be that she lost her friend in an incident there Kind of sad for Miho, first day and her new friends suddenly turned on her Love that over-the-top promotion video. It actually showed us the reader how nonsense the whole tank art is and not to take it seriously |

But some kind of injury or shock resulted from some action / mission may be involved, again like Strike Witches. This may cause the trauma we see in Miho. According to what was shown, my guess is that she by mistake bumped into a Tiger at close distance and was hurt/shocked quite badly as a result. |

| Well, it was a little bit meh. Can be a pretty ejoyable series though when it gets to some tank action. I hope someone other than Commie pick it up though, the German all over the place was annoying and really took from the experience for me, it totallly didn't fit like it was probably supposed to. |

| LOL i actually really loved this one! it reminds me of upotte ( which i dropped like half an episode in due to feeling more like a podoefile than i usually do when watching anime) but it isnt psuedo-hentai ( at least not yet) and i actually find it funny. The subs made it so much better as well. Does anyone know what sub group put in all the German words? I have a feeling this is going to be one of those that i watch until it settles down and gets a little boring then pick up when its finished. p.s *Starts ending establishing shot* oh well that was a nice anim-" *Shows aircraft carrier town* "WHAT THE SH!T!!! I-I-IT... It's the size of a mainland city...Well that just makes it ten times better..." |

| The subs I watched randomly squeezed in german words and it got really annoying IMO... apart from that, the show was to be expected, nothing new 6/10. |

As a German, I found the mixed translations to be funny (most of the words were correctly used as well). And this series is such a load of bs that I can't help but to find it awesome. I mean...Mädchen und Panzer. |

| A promising start, it seems better than upotte at least (as if anything wouldn't). If we get some good tank battles it will be enjoyable, but we will see. Some of the character designs look pretty nice too. I like that they included the StuG III, one of my favourites of WWII. And it looked gloriously ridiculous with the banners and the paintjob. Didn't have a problem with Commie's subs. Even though my german (let alone japanese) is very lacking, I was able to understand what they were talking about, and it did give a nice touch to the show. as long as the tanks get more screentime than cute girls doing cute stuff, I'll probably keep watching this. Have to see a couple more episodes before I'm decided though. EDIT: Oh, and I'll be disappointed if we don't see a t-34 in the show. |

Minor nit pick, but if we're going to go for that kind of thing, I think you mean the Mauss. German tanks were named after large felines, not people who designed firearms :P As for those looking for some nice vehicle identification: Pink: US M3 Grant/Lee The opposing tanks in the opening were already identified as a Churchill leading 4 Matilda II's. Some fun facts about the tanks depicted: -The Churchill was the replacement for the Matilda II, which was woefully undergunned even at the start of the war (37mm 2 pounder) and could not be up-gunned. -The Matilda and Churchill series were infantry support tanks, and thus had no need of being any faster than men on foot. Miho's Panzer IV is almost twice as fast as them -The StuG III would typically not be operating alongside tanks. They were employed by the artillery arm -The Panzer IV was designed primarily to provide fire support, not for tank-VS-tank engagement. However, in 1940, its short 75mm gun was the only German tank cannon that could take out a Matilda II (albeit at close range). However, it had better growth potential than the Panzer III, and long-barreled versions entered service in 1942 to counter the T-34. -The M3 was a stopgap measure as they were designing the turret for the M4 Sherman. It was basically an enlarged M3 Stuart light tank with a 75mm gun stuck into the hull. It was extremely successful in North Africa because it had better range and firepower than the tanks Rommel had access to - he never got appreciable numbers of the long-barreled Panzer IVF-2 or G. -The Type 89, like almost all Japanese tanks, was a support vehicle intended for use against poorly equipped infantry. It would not be effective against even light tanks from most other nations, and was quite vulnerable to antitank weapons. Of course, the Chinese kind of lacked both of those. |

| cute girls and tanks and troll ass subs?! glad this is out early in the week when there's barely anything to watch seems better then Upotte! though,story :S being a panzer = being a ideal women whaa??.. gonna watch this seeing as it seems to be a show you have to into with the right mindset lol let's just tag this as another *WTF Japan!* plus dat city is on the ship!. |
