Comment: Thank you Santa for the recs! You nailed on the head my brand with s.CRY.ed for sure. Although I would give it a 7.5 overall just as a result of a cumulative amount of small issues I had with it. But overall, 'twas a solid, solid rec. I did like the concept of Murder Princess, but a lot of its plot didn't feel like it went anywhere interesting. I can kinda see why the OG manga only got about 2 volumes. But it was at least an interesting watch, so I thank you for that. I didn't get to Scissor Seven, but it is on my Netflix watch list, so hopefully I'll get to it soon. | Hey there, @Eleanora1315 I hope your holiday week is going well! Thank you very much for the recs, I really enjoyed them. Hope you liked your gift as well. :3 Yakusoku no Neverland is something that I was planning on watching but I was a bit put off by the hype surrounding it. At one point it felt like everyone was talking about it so I thought I'd wait. And then the opportunity never came and it kind of disappeared from my mind until you gifted it to me. I was scared that I wouldn't like it that much because the main cast is made up of children but I was pleasantly surprised by their personalities (Ray was my favorite). It reminded me a lot of Never Let Me Go, one of my favorite books. I enjoyed the plotting and the suspense and surprisingly, I liked Isabella a lot, especially after the last episode which was a bit heartbreaking. I'm excited for the next season(s) and will definitely read the manga at some point! (I was debating between giving it a 9 or a 10 but I'll have to see how it continues from here to make a final decision.) I don't remember if Kiznaiver was in my PTW but it definitely would've sat there for a long time, waiting for me to get to it. I really enjoyed the visuals in it and the humour. It has a very distinct artstyle/animation/color intensity (or something visual that I can't quite put my finger on) which is always a bonus. I liked most of the characters and I liked that they all had wildly different personalities, it added a lot of dynamic to it. I enjoyed the first half of the anime more than the second half. While the underlying story of Katsuhira and what happened was definitely interesting, I feel like it was not given enough attention. In the latter half of the anime there was a lot of forced drama and I was not a fan of the multitude of sudden romantic interests (or the ending) but the anime kept me hooked because of its style and the backstory. They had a good idea but I feel like it was a bit all over the place. Overall it was pretty good but I think it would've benefited from more episodes. Once again, thank you for the gifts! And one day I'll watch Aoi Bungaku Series as well, I promise! Happy New Year! |
