It'd be better if his family is actually dead. Though, I've a feeling that those bodies are just fake. Really hope they aren't fake.

What the FUCK that ending got way way way too dark what happened?! I'm hoping that was just a deception like how Reigen "died" last season, but holy hell....

I mean things were going a little too well for Mob but DAMN if there was a way to break someone's happy life, this is how you do it...

I feel stupid for sleeping on this anime for such a long time because I originally thought that the art was "bad". Little did I know that the animation and art are actually amazing. Out of the current airing anime, this is definitely #1.

And here I thought this would be a nice light-hearted episode about Mob going his very best at the marathon and maybe have something happening between him and Tsubomi. I was wrong........VERY wrong.

The whole marathon build-up and the marathon itself was great. Mob had the mentality he needed to give it his all, even though he did push his body past its limit and he sadly failed to finish. Still, he was 74th at one point, so that's still an improvement though. =)

As for Tsubomi, she and her friend decided to test out Reigen for his advice on relationships and it was where she noticed a picture of Mob and Reigen on the wall. I still wonder if she actually does have feelings for Mob, but I do want to see more of her soon.

But the main talking point of the episode was in the last few minutes. Ritsu opened the door to a familiar face from the previous season and all hell broke loose. As Mob and Dimple were heading back from school, they notice smoke from the distance and was in Mob's neighbourhood and when they got to their destination, they find out that's Mob's family home was on fire.

Not caring about the worries from the neighbours, Mob simply walks in, unfazed by the fire. Sadly, in one of the rooms, he discovers some bodily remains and despite Dimple's desperate calls for him to look away, his words fell on deaf ears as Mob bypasses his 100% power and goes INSTANTLY into ???%. His face at the end looked really murderous.

I really hope the corpses were just fake, illusions or mannequins, but that's nothing more than guesses until we get confirmation on the bodies either being real or not. For now, Mob will want to find the person responsible and I hope he does.

The wait for the next episode after that stunning cliffhanger will be loooong and painful. T_T

Such a refreshing and warm episode - excluding the cliffhanger of course, which more of an "oh god why can't this middle school boy catch a break" moment with everything burning.

Other characters (most notably to me, the whole Kageyama family, Teruki, and Tsubomi) got some spotlight on them, which is really nice. I love seeing Reigen and Mob interacting and learning but there really has been a huge emphasis on them in the first half of season two. It was little touching to see that both Ritsu and Teruki were willing to work under Reigen even for a little while, just so that Shigeo can concentrate on his training.

I just love the fact that Reigen really took last arc's lessons to heart and
- gives Mob days off to train to the marathon even though judging by his calendar, Reigen is really busy with work,
- trains alongside him even though Reigen hasn't "been exercising that much lately", i.e. probably doesn't exercise that much at all,
- and takes time off of his already-busy schedule just to come and cheer on Mob on the marathon day.

I have finished the manga but I totally forgot about Shou appearing on the Kageyama family's front door so that was a little shock to me, haha. I did remember that the house was set on fire but holy hell, that face Mob made when he found out those charred bodies was total nightmare fuel to me.

I thought this was going to be a sweet sports festival/SOL Mob episode. I didn't expect this! I've never been so blindsided holy shit.

Also Dimple's gradual growth into legitimately respecting and caring for Mob is so well done. ONE's amazing.

On a lighter note, I'm so proud of my boy Mob. He's come so far! I love him.

This Episode was just heavy wtf, after everyone said that looks a lot happier, this happens....the question i have is this ??? gonna be even stronger when ever because the trigger was so heavy or what?

And this Episode again gave so many question about Tsubomi, she standing at the side of the Marathon and she going to Reigen and seeing mobs Picture.....she definitely know something or is interested in him (i dont think on a Romantic basis though),the biggest Plottwist would be she is a Agend of the organization from Season 1 (pls no spoiler i havent read the Manga but if this seaosn isnt the end i will read it)

Before I knew Reigen was going to run with Mob I said to myself, "get your old ass out there and run with him", then remembered I am older than Reigen. >_>
Hmm, I honestly don't believe that they are actually dead. I wonder if it's some really awful trick to make Mob loose it.

I hope not because that would be way too much for mob. But in the end, it probably is since I don't think that they would have been evacuated or that that kid would let them out.

I thought episode 1 was the best episode of a show I'd seen in ages. Then five, then 7, and now this holy fuck. THis episode was perfection, the heartwarming and cozy first half waa so nice, which really made the transition in the episode's ending so damn effective. God bless this show is genuinely a solid contender for anime of the decade. Based Bones reminding all why anime is such a great medium

School's marathon is gonna be organized soon. Mezato (Psycho Helmet Cult) talked with Mob about revealing himself to the club in the marathon, he refused. Mob started training hard cause he wants to impress Tsubomi, Reigen and Ekubo helped him. Ritsu and Hanazawa helped Reigen at the office, Tsubomi and her friend went there for some advices. During the marathon Mob overreached and fainted. He woke up at shcool's nursing and went home. At home, someone rang the bell, Ritsu opened the door, and was this guy called Shou Suzuki (Claw). Mob arrived home to realize that it's burning up, he went inside and found some burned bodies, his emotions counter went to the sky.

Slice of life episode and damn. What a final scene, and cliffhanger, Mob is gonna explode. Everything was ok, but I got totally shocked, not when I saw Shou, when Mob watched his house burning up, what he was thinking about his family and how he could react to the situation. Surprisingly he tried to stay calmed down, until he found some bodies in a room. I don't know if they are real or fake, but Mob's emotions went sensible in that moment. That scene when he grinds his teeth.

if his family are really dead i'll give this show a 10. holy shit what a twist. though they might be some other corpses..but dimple screaming close you eyes don't look! was just awesome. damn for a moment i though they were really held captive an alive.. i'm glad this isn't shounen, if it were it was a very high chance that they were alive.

every arc i'm like ok this was great, probably the best we'll have. and then the next one crushes the previous one like it was nothing to begin with.

But it is shounen manga/anime,not a seinen. Also I think it will be more logical for Shou to just trick mob into exploding,he saw his power in the end of s1 and seemed like he wanted to make Ritsu his follower. From the conversation with his father Claw boss,he doesn't seem like he is on good terms with him,so I dunno,he's not stupid or suicidal to make Mob his grave enemy just like that, right?

i checked, i thought i had seen a seinen tag for either manga or anime, i was wrong, my bad. though i still believe this to be more seinen than shounen..

you have a point, but it can also be about mob growing up even more and him not taking revenge despite his anger and sorrow. i have a couple of more reasons like the ending visuals and the opening song though..

looks like ura sunday is a shounen magazine, so yeah mob is shounen.. now i really hope this doesn't turn into some happy ever after thingy.

Y'know that face and scream Oberyn Martell's lover lets loose, when The Mountain squashes her man's head like a melon?

That is my face in the last couple of minutes of this episode.

Please tell me those bodies are plants put there to psyche out Mob and his family is fine in a cell somewhere, because I came here for self-improvement and heartwarming times, not for Game Of Thrones-level what the fuckery.

No! Mob Psycho isn't supposed to be that heavy! It's a comedy! Also i really don't want Ritsu to die, they just started getting along

If the kid with the orange hair had killed anyone it would have been the parents only, I think he showed up there to kidnapp Ritsu since he had interest in him as shown in the first season.
I rewatched the last scene and my theory right now is that he kidnapped all 3 of them and left a bait for Mob so that he could lose control, simply because as you said this is not the type of show to do that. But I guess we'll know next week!

Yeah i completely agree! He probably wants Mob's 100% to be released too
