I swear she was scarier when she was alive then when she was a ghost. Probably more so than the Manga ghosts. Then again human interaction and unexpectedly inhuman appearances could be what makes the difference. "Yandere" Moms are something else entirely.

Ngl, Miko kind of pissed me off with how she is handling all of this. I mean, a lot of people are being put into danger and she isn't really doing much. I know she's scared and all but her hesitation is kind of getting old by now. I love her, she's gorgeous and cute and all but honestly, she hasn't changed much from episode 1. She did bravely take out Zen's psycho mom towards the end but honestly, the miko fox girls are the highlight of the show for me so far. They are just too freaking cool.

that scene on the roof after glasses guy left & the wind blowing miko's clothes and hair, plus miko telling zen to adopt the cat both lead me to think that glasses guy is the one killing the cats hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm just my theory though, idk how plausible that actually is

honestly feels like zen's character has more depth than any of the 3 main girls - 11 episodes into this show

Zen's mother is a bitch. Good thing that shitty mother was eliminated!

But no more protection since that was the last one.

Miko needs to go drop another 5-yen at the shrine to refill!

Suspicious. I am still very suspicious. If the professor really is a good person, I'm happy. If not, even though Miko got this monster out of the professor's body, he is the biggest monster in the show so far.

Well, now we have to wait for the last episode.

Well I had the wrong idea about Zen till now but that was intentionally misleading before so not my fault. What a crazy bitch of a mother. That was admirable of Miko to use up her last divine intervention to help spare Hana from getting sick and to try to free Zen from the weight of his mother's spirit on him.

But oh no only one ep left.

Had a hunch the show is trying to do misdirection with Zen's story, and it came real right in this episode. Good job fooling me up near the end. Last episode left as expected climax with the final boss. Good fun with this anime, hoping the last finalize it up well, gonna miss Miko.

Zen was misunderstood all this time. He was burdened by the guilt of his mother.

Episode after episode throwing a huge amount of not-so-subtle hints about the teacher being a cat killer just to reveal it was all a misunderstanding in the end? Yeah, not really sure what to think of that. Hard to call it "good/clever writing" when the show was practically forcing me to misjudge the guy.

Anyways, leaving that aside... why can't Miko just return to the shrine and pray to "refill" her protection spells?

I don't know if I should be satisfied or not about the fan service being absent for most of the episodes now.

Huh... satisfied? I mean, this series was never meant to feature such amount of fanservice to begin with.

This series has genuinely been the pleasant surprise hidden gem of the season. It has been a long time since I have seen a horror anime that is truly unsettling without being overly edgy with gore or too over the top to the point of being cringe. And this is perhaps the only horror-comedy that does both parts well. Any other series that has tried to do this only adds in the comedy at the expense of the horror being embarrassingly stupid, so they poke fun at it since they know nobody will take it seriously. But Mieruko-chan's comedy comes from the gimmick of her not being allowed to "notice" the ghosts, which is a brilliant subversion on the horror genre. In fact it is shocking how well the chemistry between the horror elements and comedy elements are able to play on each other.

Before the Zen-sensei arc, I had this series rated at a 6/10-- well worth the time investment, had a unique premise, but that's about it. It wasnt until this episode that I realized, wow, this show is actually really good and deserves at least a 7/10.

I think this anime will gonna end with cliffhanger no matter what on next episode
It a shame that next arc won't get adapted
Damn, we have several anime that end with cliffhanger this year (Idaten-tachi and Tokyo Revengers for example)

From when I found the manga chapter of Miko deciding not to give Zen the cat years ago, I've always thought that Zen is a bad guy lol TT that was so misleading and so well done. When Zen re-appeared the tone of the series became different in a very much good way

Miko decided to use the last time to let the ghost following Zen be dealt with. The creepiness visual meter of the recent ghosts are very high. Be free, Zen! But I wonder what will happen with the shrine gods afterwards

haha what a misunderstanding, but damn why use up her last chance for protection, she should just let that big boobed bimbo suffer until they get their regular teacher back, eating a lot is good for more growth around da breasts anyways haha.

I take back everything that i said bad about the professor, damn what a bait this was! I mean, it all made me think like that, i guess it was hard for everyone to perceive him as a good person that takes care of cats lol

But Zen's story was really good, a little hardcore but it is what it is, glad that this issue is solved.
Now i wonder what happens when she uses her 3 protections...

As expected, Zen was not a bad person, quite the contrary, he is a good person. Also, what he had to go through when he was younger because of his mother is very sad.
Miko redeemed himself for misjudging the Zen by using the third aid he had to get rid of the monsters that were chasing him.

Cool use of multiple misdirects on Zen. dark backstory pretty messed up family he had.
Miko's so brave tailing alone, and confronts the mom. Her 3rd protection actually saved both Zen & Hana.

Good girl Miko, wasting her last bit of protection to help the teacher she blamed in vain all this time. Hyper-custody is really a scary thing for a man, not the easiest kind of psychological terror especially if it continues after the death of its origin.

I want to see a somewhat happy ending and at least some explanation of the fights between Light and Darkness that began immediately after the visit to the temple.

Love this episode. I adore anime that are willing to let their MC be wrong and fundamentally misunderstand a situation. Learning about cat-teacher's background was great and heart wrenching, and it was wonderful to see our MC grow and sacrifice on his behalf. Big fan.

Ok the winner of the scariest design after all these episode is: the teacher's mom (human).
Fr, the "ghost" mom isn't as scary as the human version.

I love that we got some real character development here. Miko finally looked straight at the scariest sort of monster! (Truth be told, Sensei's mom was a crazy b**** from the start)

So, creepy teacher guy isn't the cat killer. Cool! So, who is? Also, 3rd time the spirits have protected Miko 🤦🏾‍♀️ Interesting things to consider as the show nears its end

I WAS FOOLED. Looks like the cats were stilled murdered and just hung onto the last person who found them who happens to be the teacher.

And since this is the third time it's the last time she has the guardian protection. Wonder if she can just repray again at the shrine to refresh it lol

Wow did that take a turn, wasn’t expecting that at all. Since the cat spirits were all on him, I assumed he was bad. Never judge a book by its cover huh. Glad that Miko helped me out even though it meant that now she doesn’t have any backup but she not only saved Zen but Hana too, hopefully.

Really good episode, now let’s see how this bring it all home.

I called it! I knew Zen wasn't an evil person. They were trying so hard to throw it in our faces that he's a bad guy that it was almost obvious that they were setting it up for him to be revealed as an innocent person. Now that she used up her third rescue, I'm guessing she's gonna face the ghosts herself and reveal her power to her friends.

AHHHHHH, I made the mistake of judging a book by its cover again.

Zen doesn't hate cats, his cat was killed by his monster, abusive mother whose husband betrayed her, and she directed that anger towards her kid.

Poor Zen, he's not a bad guy but a victim of abuse. That big ghost is his dead mother.

And Mie-chan used the third and final god attack, I wonder what would happen next.

True friends protect and help each other.

The final scene with his mother getting stopped could have had more power behind it, just felt a bit lacklustre. Honestly all the protection scenes have felt a bit lacking.
