Tanjiro isn't "dead" yet. He has also yet to see his sister come back as a human so we will likely get closure on that.

Will Gotouge pull out a Tite Kubo move and have Muzan actually alive waiting Nezuko to appear and taking over her body?

That's not what I was talking about. I already talked about Muzan. My comment was directed at that particular point I quoted.
Ah, you're referring to the weakness part? I don't mind it being the weakness, that's fine. What I am bothered by is the drug being the reason for it, since it just sounds nonsensical to me that there is such a drug making all of those things happen for no particular reason (that we know of). That and the series at least seem to have implied divine punishment is a thing, so there could've been a potential alternative to it. That is just my thought, however.

That's not a problem in itself. Lots of stories do this stuff. The problem is the lack of information surrounding it. Maybe we'll get Muzan's backstory in later chapters to finally shed some long overdue light on this suspicious doctor.

As a villain, I believe Muzan does a good job at simply being frightening and absurdly powerful but as a character, he's extremely underwhelming and just unsatisfying. The Upper Moons have way better characterizations than him. He started out pretty interesting but for some reason, Gotouge is being way too secretive of him only revealing a few things about at the end of each arc. Next few chapters is gonna decide it for me.

Yeah, Muzan is a fine main villain, but unfortunately limiting his character into being just frightening and overpowered without much informations about his backstory makes him kinda generic. One of many evil characters who were powerful and scary, but had nothing much to offer above that as characters. I'm afraid Muzan will end up like that.. by being just "a fine villain" instead of something more awesome, fully deserved for Kimetsu no Yaiba's world and for Muzan as well.

Perhaps, if we assume that Muzan survived, we will see his backstory and rushed (but complex) character development? Like Muzan remembering everything he achieved up until his great, recent defeat, while running away in shadows desperately seeking some comfy spot to wait until the night comes.

Which is odd cause apparently Gyokko is one of the demons Muzan likes lmao. Don't forget they just offed Nakime, a seemingly interesting demon, like that too.

Indeed... I wish we saw not only Gyokko's backstory, but Nakime's as well. She was very interesting and seemed to be Muzan's apprentice, yet we don't know a thing about her. Even many Kimetsu no Yaina's fans don't refer to her as Nakime, but simply "Biwa girl". :(

@Snappynator , I had similar thoughts when I was thinking about Muzan as the main villain of this series. Mediocre at most, fine at being just another generic villain of a manga, yet he had potential to be really somebody interesting. We will see if his character's gonna develop in the last chapters, but I have a feeling it won't, and if it actually will - then not drastically. I also had an impression that perhaps the author, while creating awesome backstories of many powerful demons such as Akaza and Kokushibou, lost good ideas on how to make Muzan's backstory epic. I personally would like everything to stay as it is now than to receive bad history of that terryfying and morbidly powerful Muzan Kibutsuji, lol.

This chapter has the most replies since the series began. There is no doubt that viewers around the world have different opinions and predictions after reading chapter 200. I wonder the sales last week went up or down due to this chapter.

That's it for Muzan? that was underwhelming, Muzan is a fine villain, like a villain from Disney princess movies and some villains from Disney are actually more interesting than Muzan lol. I loved it tho when there are actually huge sacrifice for Muzan to finally died unlike *cough* some manga *cough FT*

Come to think of it, Demon Slayer has such a small world... but whatever, it's been a fun ride, Tanjirou died or not, it's good to end the manga at this point instead of prolonged it.

I'm not sure how to feel about Muzan anymore. If he's really dead like that then his development might just be too late into the game. There were a lot of missed chances with him. After each arc, we always get to see what Muzan was doing but only for a short while before the next arc starts. He's okay I guess as Disney villain.

It's very suspicious honestly that Gyokko doesn't even have a backstory. If minor demons at the start of KNY could get a small background check then that should be the case even more for the more relevant Upper Moons. I have a feeling we're gonna get something from him or he could end up as disappointing as his master.

Same thing for Nakime. Killing her was an urgent decision because of Yushiro but no way she's just gonna go away like that especially since she's one of the demons we always see. I'm just being lenient and patient right now.

I was truly in tears after reading this chapter, I read it more than once and the more I read it the more I cry.

(before I briefly read chapter 201) I had a feeling that Tanjiro would still be alive. I had a feeling that Muzan would do something to Tanjiro.

Spoiler for chapter 201

Despite all the bittersweet and sadness in this chapter, I found it amusing when Sanemi's father told him bluntly he didn't belong to either heaven or hell yet.lol! He looked forsaken when he seemed ready to be in the afterlife.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

They did it! Muzan got the pathetic death he deserved.

But victory at what cost. So many dead, so many wounded and scared for life. And of all... our boy Tanjirou, he fought so great. He and Tamayo defiently did the heay lifting. Gosh, I am so sad. ;_;

Iguro and Mitsuri finally confessed their love and died by each others side, Himejime realised his children tried to save him and forgave them, Sanemi came back from the brink of death, Giyuu asked for forgiveness...It's so fucking sad!! If Tanjirou really is dead, he died as the man eradicated demons.

Kanroij lost loth both arms in chapter 198.

? I'm reading the chapter now, and I fail to see where she looses them. There is one cell in which I can like guess she lost them in 199, but really, I didn't even know that before you mentioned that.

Well, blame on artists style, which gets super messy in fights.

I feel the same. It's not clear at all. 1 panel she has both arms, then the next panel the action is hidden behind a giant swoosh. All you see is Muzans tentacle she ripped off and her legs. Oh well
