What I'm confused about is, doesn't the holy grail summon rains of fire from the sky when you destroy it? Wouldn't that mean if Seig succeeds and destroys the greater grail, the whole world would be consumed in flame? This is a partial reference to fate/zero.

Hmm so Amakusa actually wished for some infinite tsukuyomi lul

Wonder what Jeanne meant when she said she would definitely meet Sieg again, are they gonna pull off an after-life-Avalon-esque ending or something?

The bad surprise was Semiramis being alive after being defeated by Mordred and I was really convinced that she was gone, so her re-appearance is a little annoying. =/]

That wasn't a surprise, Mordred specifically said she was dying, not that she was dead, and Semiramis' chains were shown attacking Astolfo last episode after the Mordred fight. They can't kill Semiramis yet because the entire Hanging Garden of Babylon they're in would collapse and disappear if she died.

Mordred said she destroyed her spiritual core, if you are a fate fan you know this basically means the servant would immediately start dissapearing (no they don't even bleed anymore, it all turns into magical dissapearing space dust). That is why Archer who got his core destroyed by Saber in FHA couldn't even move anymore and started to turn into dust right there...

Only Servants with battle continuation like Lancer Cu could still move a bit longer after getting their core destroyed.

Conclusion Semiramis has battle continuation, probably as a hidden skill.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but wasn't the whole point of the Jack the ripper stuff for character development to show Sieg how messed up humanity can be. I mean he was all "bruh humans is fukt up" at the end of that arc.then there was also the whole thing about him being seen as a disposable homonculous by humans too. So why is he all against Shirous plan anyway? Or did the writers forget about the character development they gave Sieg about him realizing humans aren't such a great species

You got everything wrong, and I believe you just missed all the point of Jeanne words.

The point of Jack arc was to show Sieg how humanity is not just happiness and peace, but despair and chaos. This made Sieg to doubt about what he was fighting for, but thanks to Jeanne he understood that not because everything is shit you should just give up and lose hope. Or like Jeanne said, "after the Dark of the despair comes the light of hope" ( not exact words but was something like that ). She also mentioned Sieg before, that not because some humans sin or hurt others, means all are the same.

This adding that, Amakusa is not doing salvation, he's just going to kill all the humans physically and will just let their souls with no purpose. I don't really see how's that salvation...

Damn, as soon as Jeanne turned badass final white form with the hair down she died. Didnt get to experience the full glory that is Jeanne final white form.

I have a feeling Sieg and Leticia aren't going to get to have a happy ending after all of this either. Seeing as how Seig just took a stab to the heart followed by suicide Blasted Tree which probably still wont kill Shirou. Though maybe still hope for spirit Sieg and Jeanne?

People want to complain about Sieg getting powers but dont want to point out that Semiramis has more gary-stu going on for her than him? Bitch had her spirit core broken and still came back.

Mordred went out of the way to intentionally not kill her. The moment she dies, the entire flying castle everyone's in (which is her Noble Phantasm) will collapse and disappear.

Sigh I knew it wasn't gonna happen, but I was still hoping for Shirou to succeed.
Well thanks to Ruler and Sieg, people get to keep dying in pain and misery with many of them not being able to anything about it.
They are the true villains of this story.

You do know shirou was talking about killing everyone right? He was only planning to do it painlessly, but everyone would still die.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about elevating everyone from physical beings to spiritual beings.
So I guess it's means "death" for the physical bodies, but really it's just going from one type of being to another.
Like he also stated that:
humanity would reach this state eventually and he's just speeding up the process
people would become immortal without losing emotions like love

Nothing happened probably. She gave her magic crest to Caules before and now she lost Archer, so there's no point of sticking around the battlefield anymore.

Seems like someone still doesn't understand that Semiramis servant core got destroyed. (Unless Mordred was just lying)

There is no "intentionally not kill her" Because without the core there is no servant. The whole point of killing a servant is to damage/destroy the core. The head and heart are directly related to it.

Like i said before only servants with battle continuation skill can still move for a bit after their core got destroyed (like Cu lancer did in UBW or FHA)

I'm gonna be honest, I was here ready to laugh at my boy Shirou's sixty year plan being destroyed by a random homunculus, but damn, even with those plotshields, Shirou still managed to won on the sword fight. I'm so proud of you mah boi

Gilles was incredible, and Jeanne's last words to him was feels. At least she died as a character, I guess??

oh and Caules moment was cute.

This sword fight was the best fight at the anime, I didn't expected that they would be able to make it better than the novel. lol

La Pucelle anime version was okay, but I prefer the novel's one.

time to see the ultimate bullshit next episode, yay?

Even if they are two worse characters of the series their battle is still enjoyable to watch. I am quite surprised that Jeanne died, although is still have my doubts whatever she really died or didn't. Oh well one episode left, I am little afraid thought as the holy grail is still out there right, so it's possible we get some king of BS ending with Sieg wishing for everyone to get resurrected or something. Hopefully it won't be the case.

Amazing episode! It's a shame some of the scenes felt unfinished. Of course BD should be able to fix that.

Yeah, Berserker's fragment being inserted to Sieg the last minute feels very cheap. What's stopping Saber and others from doing the same as well??

Ruler is gone :( I guess Leticia will be left behind only?

Quite dynamic animation there. And Jeanne in flames was beautiful... rip.
At least Leticia still there.
Eh...? They want to destroy the gail? From f/0 grail is technically indestructible & very bad things happen if someone tries.
Jeanne's arguments were still legit, but once it's down to Sieg it's just hatred & selfishness vs saving mankind the weird way.
Strange ability that needs to cut your arm to make a blackhole... too edgy Shiro.
Oh Astolfo still alive, expected him to die several times already.
Fran lives in Sieg, a reasonable & explained asspull & mc powerup just at the right time, very nice clap clap. Apparently Fran slept thru the show inside Sieg till now.

I like the series and the episode, but I thought the philosophy in this episode was exceptionally bad. The arguments for why Amakusa Shirou's plan is bad are extremely poor. It was pure status quo bias: "The human condition sucks, but we like it anyway! So don't you dare do anything that would change the human condition, you... villain!"

Notably, Jeanne and Amakusa have one trait in common that was central to their lives: They are both CHRISTIAN. You would think that this would come up in an argument about the salvation of mankind, seeing as how salvation is kind of a big deal in Christianity. But it is not brought up.

Jeanne COULD have gone with something like this: "Man is sinful and flawed, and you cannot fix that. Only God can fix it - and He already has. Salvation for Man already exists in the form of Jesus Christ. Your attempt to change the human condition using magic is a violation of the First Commandment: 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me'!"

Something like that. I'm not Christian; someone with a better grasp of theology can no doubt formulate a better argument than I can. Personally, I wouldn't particularly buy the above argument, but it would make sense in the story. It would make sense for Jeanne to believe it. It would make far better sense for her character than some generic shounen bullshit about how the status quo is fine-and-dandy.

HeroVladimir93 said:
The philosophical battle between Jeanne and Amakusa felt like Amakusa was the one presenting logical and well-founded arguments while Jeanne was just using empty platitudes. Then comes Sieg, who delivers a speech so corny that Superman, Jean-Luc Picard or Optimus Prime wouldn't say it.

Amakusa's wish is actually Evil. He will basically turn everyone into mindless zombies in the form of Soul. No need to eat sleep feel love hate etc. You will only Exist. It is a World of Good simply because nothing will happen. In a more accurate sense, it is a world where the will of humans are forcefully controlled. It is like living in North Korea but imagine only thinking about Kim Jong Un every second.

Is this explained in the anime? Or is it from the LN? I don't remember this being specified in the anime. You can sort of infer that Jeanne and Sieg think this will be the result, but it is not argued properly.

This is especially disappointing considering that the Nasuverse usually distinguishes itself by at least TRYING to be philosophical. I usually find Nasu's attempts at philosophy to be pretentious and vapid, but this generic shounen blabla is somehow worse.

Good episode otherwise.

ok lets be real. Real MVP of this entire fucking anime? Frankenstein . Couldn't of done it without her, definitely giving her a grail after this.
Whoop, i never in my sad years of living on this planet think i would ever write this, but good guy Gilles practically got his redemption arc! Jeanne's 2nd NP was...eh but seeing her final ascension clothing was a nice touch.
Seig vs Amakusa at first felt stupid, suddenly Seig using the power of love can keep up with a ruler class servant but thank go it completely wasn't. The logic behind it made sense with Fran's blasted tree starting his heart and more or less implanting herself into him and i actually enjoyed the battle. Fight scene was oooo crisp and seeing Blasted Tree for a second time was HOT.
god this would of been 5/5 episode if it wasn't for such, painfully cringe romance. Like i get the gist but it feels like they are forcing the romance on us like "You will like it" and i still can't see the love interest from Jeanne to Seig.

Ehhhhhh too many asspulls for me
- Shiro tries to turn humanity to perfect spirits. I guess he’s kinda right in the same way as someone like Masada from Naruto is?
- Jeanne bites the dust :( sad to see her go, this pissed off Sieg
- Assassin is still alive? I call bullshit. Mordred didn’t die for that.
- Sieg gets powers from Frankenstein? That makes a lot of sense but being able to use the tree is a bit much…
- some good sword fight animation between Sieg and Shiro

So the plot armor stays strong as always to it's full potential.

Ruler's prince, Sieg comes to save her... The first half was somewhat enjoyable but after that it all just starts to go towards the well-being and the wished of Sieg.

We get yet another plot armor in the end fight, and this time we see berserker lending Sieg her strength and how the hell did she even survived? If it was made with better plot and only few plot armor, maybe-maybe it would have been good like just other Fate series.

I can't even enjoy how this sow is completely bias towards Sieg, no not towards Black side but only to Sieg.
