This was an alright episode imo.

Lol'd @ Eita' wearing sunglasses.

Well, Chiwa had some guts in attempt to confess. Otherwise, I think she's just doing it to ease her feelings for Eita. But anyways, I feel a little sorry for her :(, especially her leg..

Dat tears/blush:

That "skit" was pretty funny, lol. What gets me though is that they all thought it would be something serious. I can only look at that as a joke. XD

Also, how did Chiwa break her leg? Not sure if they intended some sort of time skip and decided to go back to that detail later, but it feels really awkward to do something like that in a way.

Eita doesn't realize he friendzoned familyzoned Chiwa.
This is what everyone hates in a harem lead.

Otherwise, the skit was very fun.

Oh God it hurts to watch someone embarrass themsleves like this. I can't believe people actually enjoyed it, even though they thought it was a comedy skit. Alls well that ends well with that I guess lol

Eita you freaking scrub, are you really that dense? (Well I guess its kind of believable)
That flash back was kind of cute in a way.

I'm hating Masuzu more and more each episode after these flashbacks and stuff, she messed with their lives so much, everything would have gone along smoothly and naturally had she not come along >_>

If you really want to fit in, just put Legend of the Galactic Heroes in your top 5 and have it be the only 10-rated anime in your list.

Eh... I don't dislike it. Really not doing anything interesting, though. I mean, there's being obvious and then there's this. The ridiculous things they convince Chiwa to do are the only sort of flares of creativity, but the whole be yourself by acting stupid angle was literally just covered in Chuunibyou. This also manages to be a lot more embarrassing to watch for me, though I have a hard time saying why. Maybe because the characters act normal enough the rest of the time to have a pretense of modesty, even if a girl going nya all the time really can't.

I dunno, maybe they'll take a serious angle by having Chiwa's "boyfriend" get really hurt by the fact she doesn't care and such, but I doubt it. Not that I was ever expecting serious. I'm just thinking how this series could spark some creativity at this point.

The one thing that did interest me in this episode was how Masuzu responded to her play being called a comedy. I imagine it was just a one off joke, but the idea that she's actually serious about these popularity schemes could be interesting.

But the OreShura LN came out before the Chuunibyou LN. Chuunibyou was just adapted sooner.

Eita has like most lead characters on harem anime unable to see when a girl has feelings for him even if they make them clear as day.
So wether he will ever realise Chiwa's feelings for him is a big question.
At least he is trying hard for his friends and he cares about them and he is a lot brighter then most harem leads.

Strike three and out.

Not even Yukarin's angelic voice could save this anime from mediocrity, sadly.

When I feel bored and have to force myself to continue watching not even 10min into the episode, dropping is the only viable option.

So, have fun everyone, while I will have fun elsewhere.

Chiwa got pretty emotional there wishing she had known Eita as a "regular" classmate instead of being childhood friends. Sadly, I think Eita will never realize what Chiwa meant by that.

Interesting to know, but it's still poor timing. And I think I can say objectively that Chuunibyou did it more entertainingly.

Yeah, I'd say your expectations are running rather high. We'd need much more complex motivations and introspection than have been hinted at to approach Toradora.

I'd like this show a lot more if it wasn't for Chuunibyou airing before this. I couldn't stop thinking about it during the first half.

Other than that, the show is ok so far. There are still two more characters to introduce so I'm eager to see how they fit in.

True, but I wasn't trying to make comparisons either, I'm just arguing against the point you made about how this show is using something similar to Chuunibyou.

Hmmm, interesting.
This is the very first time I feel some empathy towards the annoying-childlike childhood friend in like, ANY harem any series I've seen where the final pairing is not obvious.
So more power to Chiwa, I'm entertained.

I'm really starting to like this show. Unlike most of you, Mazusu is by far my favorite character. Her demeanor and interaction with the male main character reminds me of Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari.

Uh... It could be better. Some moments were tedious. And the cliché "character who yell "BAKA !"", incarnated by Chiwa, annoys me. Eita is a pretty boring main character. Masuzu is ok, she's the most interesting so far.

I suppose this is where there starts to be some depth in this series. I can appreciate Eita as a character. Taking out the part where he's dense about Chiwa's feelings, we can see where he's coming from. With both of his parents running off, it's actually quite reasonable for him to swear off romance and focus on the one goal that's important to him, which is becoming a doctor and helping Chiwa overcome her injury.

Of course, Chiwa's getting the short end of the deal because Eita doesn't really see her as anyone other than a childhood friend. She's really embarrassing herself out in the open for Eita. Trying to become popular so he'd like her. And this idea was probably cemented by the fact that he's going out with a popular girl, Masuzu. Masuzu probably knows all this, which is why she said Eita's stupid at the end of the episode.

I'm slightly concerned about the pacing of this series though. There isn't a lot of source material to cover and I think they might end up doing 3 volumes in 13 episodes. That could potentially ruin a good series. As I haven't read the LN myself, I don't know whether vol. 2 is a good place to end a season, but that may be the best for the long run.

The return of Burning Fighting Fighter!!!

This episode had a really nice mixture of comedy and drama paced throughout. After the "comedy skit" they performed Chiwa feels uneasy about the whole situation. This episode had a deft use of subtlety. When they were walking home and the conversation got kind of awkward, I loved how the director showed a crossroads with the two girls on both sides with him caught in the middle. Also props to Chiwa's voice actress, since episode 1 I've noticed that she is just on another level from the other two main characters when it comes to expressing emotions.

Eita's nature of always studying makes a lot more sense now by tying it with trying to heal Chiwa. He can't heal her if he's dating her apparently : P This show just gained a lot more points in my book after this episode

It wouldn't surprise me if Masuzu turns out to be secretly nerdy and weird like Eita. Some hints have been thrown out like her passion for the "skit" and her JoJo quotes. I haven't read the LN though.

It might be why she is obsessing over his note book at the end if the episode (she had the blush). My theory is that she wanted to get to know Eita based on reading his note book prior because they are similar.

give another plan of masuzu make eita talk of past life so have eita & chiwa do skit which people think it's comedy got masuzu going why?!

then help chiwa give letter to guy to go a date seem all fine til chiwa ask eita how he feel on it give eita sorta said wrong saying cause chiwa to run cry due to eita think of her as a sister.

cue flashback of chiwa with injured leg & back visit eita telling him she can't do kendo anymore while eita said his parents has split, find other loves & left him.

so during dinner talk give eita mention maybe get work a doctor which chiwa cried which eita more determine help chiwa to really be a doctor.

& after flashback both still wonder reasons to do next while masuzu being masuzu as usual.
