Hi, as you know there are many great anime that ended/not getting another season. and i have many of them in my list. There are some animes i fell in love with them and some grow up with me but its so sad that i will never get to see a new face of them. so here is the thing : have you ever re watched an anime ? if yes how did you feel ? did your love for that anime changed, did you discover something new, did you feel the same happiness and fullness you felt first time watching it ? plz answer me i really want to know. |

i rewatch anime all the time. i'm also pretty old so i'm used to it. back in the 90s we didn't have a lot to choose from like we do now. everything was a lot different back then. sometimes i just get the itch to rewatch something for one reason or another. like i want to hear a specific voice actress, or a new season is about to air and i forgot what happened in the previous one/s, or i want to watch it with family or friends...etc. |

It depends on what the show is, but yes, you can get the same feeling you had the first time you've watched, I don't have Jojo on 10+ rewatch and To Love-Ru on 15+ rewatch for nothing Tell me about your experience with Shana @Deknijff |

I've rewatched many anime, only this year I rewatched both seasons of BnHA, Memories (just a movie tho), Robot Carnival (also a movie) and Madoka Magica, and soon Im (finally) going to rewatch my 10/10s. Rewatching is always a different kind of experience for me, and I usually find it more or equally enjoyable. I generally watch whatever I feel like watching, if I want to watch something again then theres no reason not to. At least I know Ill enjoy it or that its exactly something Im in the mood for right now, and I have no such guarantee when starting something new. And sometimes you can discover a lot of new things or perspectives which is always nice. I have a full list of anime Ive rewatched here, some (like Death Note) were rewatched more than once: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/fuyuki?status=7&tag=fr |

those experiences are just for me to know but ok yeah on topic real short. Rewatching shows you love can certainly enhance the experience as you'll notice more and more things about it but other than that I guess it depends on the mode you're in while rewatching a given show |

I have re-watched many series, especially the ones I really enjoyed. Surely, it will not be the same as the first time I watched them but I still enjoy watching them even tho I know what comes later. |

I only rewatch my favorite anime, I probably rewatch 1-3 anime per year. When I rewatch anime I seem to enjoy it more than the first time I watched it. |

i rewatched gurren lagann once, and loved the shit out of it even more. rewatched fma a few days ago, i got a better understanding of everything since i didn't understand what was going on for jack shit 1st watch. rewatching fmab right now, i can't say much since i'm going to rewatch it in summer though, still entertaining as hell and i love it to death yet more. i'm enjoying all the shows i'm watching rn but sometimes i just get bored of anime, which explains why i rewatch my favorites. i think it's because there's no variety in the shows i'm watching rn, mostly space/mecha/shounen shite |

Re-watching enhances your experience as you notice things/facts that you had missed and you'll get a better idea of the concept/plot of that show... But only re-watch a show, when you're in the mood to. |

It depends.. I have few that im constatly re-watching,im literaly aging with them xD And i dont mind them ,they are part of my everyday lyf But i had the moments when i watched something and the second time ruined it for me.Like i didn't get the same vibe, and story is loosing its glow. So i usually go on a hunch and most of the times and i enojy them often :) |

What kind of question is that ? There are some things whose worth can't be measured i.e happiness that you get after watching an anime in this case. |

I re-watched Re:Zero not too long ago. I have thusly come to the conclusion that I should take Subaru's place, flip off Emelia, and ride off into the sunset with Rem-chan in my arms. (What the hell have I become? I used to be normal, but everything changed when the anime attacked) |

You know how many anime aired in the 90s? i'd be lucky to finish 5 series a year. |

Rewatching an anime lets you notice details you didn't notice or care about before. Like, rewatching Madoka. |

I don't think I've ever rewatched a complete series, only parts with arcs that I like (Naruto Shippuden ending lol). It's really hard for an anime to make me want to sit down and watch it, let alone watching it AGAIN. Haikyuu is another anime I would consider rewatching because every episode is fun (hard to find one of these nowadays). |

Re-watching anime is a real treat man. If you were a, lets say someone that collects cars and you're really enthusiastic about your hobby which fulfills your desires and evokes emotions that keep you buying more cars. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't drive these vehicles off the lot to keep them parked in your garage. NO! Definitely not! You're anticipating the next time you'll get to take that ride you once desired so much, back out for a joy ride, as you remain collecting more. It's the same with anime and many other things that bring enjoyment of course. But yeah I re-watch a lot, as if I'm taking an old ride for a spin once again. Some things I re-watch I fall in love with even more, others I abhor and contemplate why I even found it remotely enjoyable the first time around. And some I feel the same about, sometimes I notice things I didn't before, others I re-watch to refresh my memory before a sequel and then I've got times I re-watch things just cuz I feel like it...... all in all, re-watching is a huge green light for me. I Re-watched Bakemonogatari 3 times.. the entire series and I'm looking foward to a fourth (This is most re-watched series for me). |

I rewatch all the time so much so that somebody told me I'm missing out with so many new anime...I don't really care since what I do not know won't hurt me. But anyway I have mixed experiences. I've watched plenty of anime when I was younger so now I can't much remember them so I plan to rewatch with an adult mindset I guess. I recently rewatched Bleach, which I loved as a kid, but turns out I find the arcs like clones of each other and Ichigo's out-of-nowhere power ups exasperating. I've rewatched HxH, OP, Det. Q so many times but I still feel happy each and every time. I still cry at tear jerker moments and I still laugh at the jokes even though I already know it's going to happen. I recently rewatched Barakamon which I also loved but then I realized it didn't give me as much happiness as before, I notice more smaller details that didn't affect me before. I still like it though but overall will probably not rewatch that. So yeah, rewatching gives me joy and also updates me if my taste has changed X) |

I rewatch anime pretty often. I collect my favourite series on bluray just for rewatching. And yeah, I feel the same way I did the first watch through. Death Note is the show I've seen the most and it's still my number 1. |

There are some anime which practically demand rewatching, because you can't grok them fully the first time through. Almost any really good story will work multiple times. |

I rewatch anime quite often epecially my favorites I watched Death Note like 5 times already but it all depends on your personal preference and whether or not the anime is one that can still be enjoyed when watching a second time cuz already knewing all plot twists can greatly decrease your enjoyment of a show. |

I've rewatched a lot, but it's usually stuff that I watched up to 10 years ago and barely remember. I also rewatch things when a new season is out of the anime in question and I feel like I need a refresher. Though in these cases I watch it in 2x the speed. I think it's a good idea to watch anime again, sometimes you can notice all the foreshadowing of certain plot points etc. |

I really like rewatching. Watched stuff like Air Gear, DIVB, Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase and Tweeny Witches atleast 10+ times. When a sequel/prequel/remake of a series I like is announced I rewatch the original sometimes. |

I think thats worth it. I often rewatch anime and usually the more I watch, the more I like. Anime are so large that there is no way that I can only digest the whole thing on my first time watching. |

logopolis said: Almost any really good story will work multiple times. While I think in general this is true, some genres have greater rewatch values by nature. For example, a decent 'mystery' or 'psychological' labelled series will almost definitely have a greater rewatch value than a decent 'romance', since once you know the conclusion of set romance, the impact is gone for a rewatch. At least in my opinion. |

I almost read the post title as "Is watching an anime worth it ?". I think I love reading shitposts too much, that's the only way I can explain it. Looks like just about everyone who posted loves re-watches. Guess I'll be that one weirdo who will give a firm "no" to your question. Maybe it's because I usually remember more of what I watched than other people, but I only end up getting a fraction of the enjoyment out of most re-watches as I did from the first watch. It's much more convenient for me to search up the OST and just think back on what I had experienced. I can count the number of times I re-watched + re-read something for its own sake on one hand, and those all have little stories behind them. I will re-watch things if I'm re-assessing my opinion on them though. Coming into something you remember when you've grown or changed since that time does tend to change what you will experience. |

I don't usually rewatch but, If I really like that particular anime I'll just read the original version of it since they may contain additional information that the anime didn't have (more often manga but light novels are alright as well). |

The best time to re-watch something is when you haven't seen it in many years. That way you don't remember it as clearly and it's a somewhat new experience. If you remember every little bit of an anime, re-watching can be boring because you just feel like you're experiencing the same thing over again. However, in some cases remembering something can also evoke a sense of nostalgia... but this still only really works if you haven't seen it in quite a while. I'm talking around 5-10 years. It's also interesting to re-watch something sooner, such as after it gets an English dub... especially since it can sometimes be fun to compare it to the original Japanese version. I remember doing this a lot when I was younger, but not so much now that I'm older and have less free time. |
