| Sagiri is way too moe! I didn't expect to enjoy the series this much, well, 90% of it is because of Sagiri though, the art, the animation, the voice, almost everything about her is perfect. "nii-san". The first half imo was far better, Masamune had more character, was not sidelined by the girls and turned into your typical harem lead in the second half that's only there to follow the lead of the girls and have almost no voice of his own. I like it better when the protagonist does something a little bit more deserving of the love of his harem. Speaking of that, the romance in this series is terrible, terri-fucking-ble. Zero development, girls love Masamune because it's written that way, no why and how. Sagiri likes nii-san because it's written that way, it's the same for both Elf and Muramasa, and the bookshop girl as well. It's one aspect of the show that feels very shallow. The same thing goes for every "chance" encounter, Masamune just happened to have all those lucky encounters with the people he knew way back, Sagiri being a fan of his 11-year-old self, Muramasa being a fan of his first published book, they just happened to meet each other again years down the line.. what's the chance of that happening? My favorite part has to be everything about the flashbacks, both Sagiri's and Masamune's, my chest tightens when they got to that part, single parent and all, and then being orphans. It's bitter. Personally, I probably like this one better than Oreimo, though they could really cut down on the dick-joke a little bit, and focus on more slice-of-lifey scenarios, it needs more variety. |

| A questionable choice of last episode. Although nothing really happened, I guess they wanted the anime to be remembered for the fun rather than the sibling relationship or the feels from the previous episode. Overall I think people aren't wrong to call the gags shameless. But the lively characters made it enjoyable to an extent. |

| The previous episode felt like the finale. This one was more like one big doujin scenario that never took off. Yare yare, someone will have to teach all of those girls the correct positioning and usage of the male anatomy...well, there's plenty of doujin for this to fill that request ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Overall, Eromanga was quite a hoot. Given its notoriety, I thought it might have had legit incest or something far more controversial considering all of the flak it gets. I'd say its gravest sin was making Elfily a side girl considering she's undoubtedly the best. Also, the lack of Megumi in the second half was a bit of a bummer. Even buried in all of the lewd, erotically cute harem antics, Eromanga still manages to draw on a nice dynamic between Izumi & Sagiri as they both strive to achieve that neverending dream of lifting each other up to the next major goal. 6.5/10 |

| Considering how much this show got meme'd into the ground and made out as one of the worst anime in the last decade by some people when it was airing, this was surprisingly an alright watch. Fairly mild for an ecchi as well, except for maybe the last episode that did go overboard a little. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it had a funny concept and managed to be entertaining throughout while keeping the "incest" theme mostly to joking about it. |

| This is actually a decent show if you dont have the expectation of a compelling love triangles/harem happening. Its SagirixMasamune from the start, episode 11 assured it yet again. I think Masamune genuinely likes Sagiri as a girl but he just wants them to be family for now, I assume until Sagiri finally live a normal life. The writer did a great job in showing Sagiri's progress of opening herself up and showing Masamune's intentions on why he is so assed about his sister. Well he has been very lonely since Sagiri started locking herself. Not too assed about the other characters despite the efforts they put (that 'data collecting' trip episodes were lame ugh). Taking Megumin off screentime for the other two love interests who confessed as well was a terrible decision if we go by that half assed finale which blatantly ignored SagarixMasamune development, even if they release a second season. |

| Good shit. I had my (moderate) dose of laughs from this. Also, story and relationship were very cute. Ecchi? Where? It's mainly humor, lol. As always people hatin' on incest (but then can you guess what one of the most popular porn categories for irl stuff is? Yeah, exactly, fictional incest, lmao) and bringing a series down 1 and 2 points because of that. Uncultured swines, pfft. Someone said this is a guilty pleasure, it's "so bad it's good", it's "that good shit but still shit that I can't help but get hooked to for some reason". But the reality is that this show is just...good. Not a masterpiece, but it is good. To say a level, on par with a lot of anime out here with 7.4-7.6 average scores. Not 6.6 material for sure. It's not even remotely trashy enough imo >.< This reminds me how people trashtalk Prisma Illya. They take the literal 3 "controversial" scenes and then describe the anime like it's all like that from the first minute to the last. Same for Eromanga. Most humor is okay. Most ""ecchi"" is normal (as it's not even real ecchi). There are like 3 scenes (one on ep 5 to make an example) that are a little more extreme, and now that I saw the whole thing, people do the same for Eromanga too. Act like those 3 scenes are the norm for it and the whole thing is all like that...xD >.<" In any case it's an 8/10 for me. And I hope to see more in the future. And I also hope that the author grows some balls this time and doesn't pull out right before the ending. |

| Oh man, this anime is a damn work of art. Animation quality alone is top notch. Lots of nice fan service and also this anime made me laugh almost every episode. I was really entertained. Easy 9/10 for me. Anyway, I must say this is acceptable "incest" IMO. They are not blood related and they are only siblings by law/marriage of their parents. Its not pedophilia either since both protagonist are underage and age of consent in Japan is 13. But yeah this anime is definitely still taboo for many people and you either have to be open minded or weird or both to enjoy this. Looking forward to season 2. |

| Thinking about it, Eromanga Sensei has a core theme of trying to rebuild a broken family, but that's buried pretty deep under all the situational comedy. The brother/sister relationship could have easily been awkward and full of drama, but the show decided to take the route of a fun romcom without delving any further into any potential controversies. In that aspect, I think Eromanga Sensei succeeded in just trying to be a fun romcom, although that's a pretty low bar to set as a goal. Then again, is it better to try and do something risky with the chance to fail and burn, or play it safe and accomplish nothing of note while passing by inoffensively? This episode was most definitely funny and quirky, and I wouldn't have minded more episodes about the characters just doing goofy things without having to pursue some romantic subplot. I also liked the previous episode, where Sagiri got to experience the world through a tablet. She's taking slow steps in breaking out of her hikikomori lifestyle, and it's due to her ever-expanding network of friends. I enjoy this aspect of the show, especially where she finally gets others wrapped into her insane hobbies. Eromanga Sensei doesn't do anything special, nor does it do anything particularly wrong. It's a show seemingly made to be watched in a single session and forgotten by the time the next imouto-focused series gets released. I can only assume it exists bas a result of Oreimo, either to quell the flames of its ending, exercise writing skills and experiment with an even more meta series, or just to create a low-tension series as a break from the previous dramatic experience. In that regard, Eromanga Sensei is fine for what it is: cute girls trying their best to be lewd, but being kind of awkward about it. |
| Eh it's alright, definitely fulfills its job of being a light hearted romcom featuring step-siblings, the other side characters are fine too with the exception of Megumin. Kinda a shame there's no official translations for the LNs even now, there probably is a demand for it if not for the taboo aspect of the series |
| It was a very enjoyable anime :D Maybe chapter 6 and 7 were not so, there were situations that I did not like much, even if it is an anime... Still I think he knew how to recover and take a good course. Also noteworthy is the OST and both the OP and EDs, great job! :D |
