Oh shit, the battle lines have been drawn!
Personally, I think Muramasa and Elf has an interesting little rivalry. They're almost like polar opposites with their personalities.

Kinda funny to see Elf working with Masamune. She can be quite demanding!
Muramusa's girly side is cute imo when she's with Masamune. Glad to learn more about her this episode.

He rejected the best girl!!
Heresy!!

Anyway Sagiri came out of her room while a stranger was in the room meaning she is making progress with her hikimori habits.
And Elf being there was somewhat funny as well with her behaviour.

That outburst from Sagiri shook every fibre of my being.....That was powerful

At first I was shrugging off Muramasa-sensei's dream but I did not expect her to reveal that she was inspired by Izumi and is probably his biggest fan. And then seeing how far she was willing to go just to get him to go back to his original genre of LN's kinda shook me too but the icing on the cake is that I feel like she through the competition and that's just too sweet

Overall this was a really nice episode and now their dynamic is going to be 1000 times better and more intense with these new revelations and resolves....I loved Yamada's involvement in this episode too (That scene where Izumi designed the main heroine after her and was drooling was killing me xD)

I love Sagiri and all but Yamada and Muramasa are too great and it sucks to see both of them get rejected because of her :(

Who you're calling "Kuroneko alt"? "I didn't know someone by that name", <<< Like the "little sister" used to say. LOL
Any "suggestion" about why the Kuroneko alt should be more a favorite girl in the series more than mrs.Elf? Because so far, that's what I had in mind.

Great episode.

I actually ended up liking Muramasa a lot this episode. Was real nice to see that she was inspired by Izumi and in fact maybe his biggest fan. I really liked it when she described her motivations as an author as well.

Damn, that Sagiri outburst. I knew she'd say something but that outburst was totally unexpected. I was totally stunned.

I'm pretty sure Muramasa through the competition which was real nice of her and I'm glad to see Masamune and Sagiri win. :)

That confession was pretty early but nice, Masamune rejected her instantly though which was kinda sad. :(

Also Elf was great this episode too. xD

"14.5 million copies" take a seat Elf.

I really enjoyed this episode.

We got to see the cute side of Muramasa. Though she was scary at times. Felt bad for her when she was rejected.

Sagiri coming out of her room with that outburst was surprising and powerful. Seems like she was the one who send Masamune his first drawing.

It was nice to see that Masamune and Sagiri win. Though the new title is kinda obvious to who the book love letter is directed at. Especially those who know them.

Elf's ego just broke when she heard how much Muramasa's novels sold. She aspired to write novels' because of Masamune. She got mad when she heard he changed genres. Her getting rejected was great. Sagiri's outburst was powerful. It's nice she and Masamune won.

Why are people referring to Muramasa as Kuroneko 2.0? Other than the hair maybe they're nothing alike. If anything Elf is much more similar to Kuroneko with the whimsical yet energetic chuuni persona

In any case this is probably the first time Eromanga-sensei has some sort of actually serious/dramatic development but I like the way they handled it. Sagiri's outburst was pretty gripping; probably more so than I recall it being in the light novel (though granted it's been years since I read that part)

Muramasa said she wanted Masamune so that he can write novels that only she would like, which are action genres. (I don't believe novels should be written just to satisfy one person.) Which leads me to believe she has more of an obsession for Masamune than love. I think Muramasa might be a bit crazy. She even stated she would kill him, which I believe she might actually carry out as a crazy, fanatical fan.

I don't believe Masamune should ever choose her as a love interest.
You shouldn't date your fans.
(This is all just my interpretation, I'm not saying she is "literally" crazy. I do like Muramasa's character, before she said all that fanatical stuff).
(Wait wasn't there a movie with a crazy fan? Misery I think).

So incest route confirmed? A friend urged me to read the novels and told me it's not that simple... I guess I can only hope.

- Muramasa felt like an interesting threatening presence, if only a little too hostile... until she did a 180. Out of all the writers she could admire, it was Masamune the one who inspired her? *sigh* At least if this development wasn't so rushed this would've been more interesting (haven't read the novels, so I'll assume this pacing issue is anime-only).

- Now she loves Masamune? Damn, the harem just gets bigger and bigger, Masamune is becoming too much of a blatant Gary Stu, a bit more and we'll have a new SAO (crossover please??). But seriously, I hope Muramasa gets more interesting development from now on, an "I won't give up on Masamune!!" seems too obvious and clingy of a choice. That part when she threatened him at the end was gold though :'D

- Sagiri did a Taiga and claimed his brother for her D: As much as I dislike the incest element, I never expected her to come out of her room and be so clear about it. Best thing of the episode for me.

Last episode was really interesting, but I'm not really feeling this episode. So far the series has been all ups and downs for me, right when it gets interesting, it devolves. Now that I think about it, I guess I like the more lighthearted, humorous episodes, rather than the plot-related ones. More Yamada Elf, bookstore girl, and Megumin, in that order please.

Seems a little silly to me that she would confess love for him after meeting him the first time.

I was a bit disappointed that the name of the novel wasn't oreimo.. oh well.

Yeah, I agree that she seems to be a bit unbalanced. And having someone to write novels just for you is a little too much. At first, when she hadn't revealed her reasons, I thought her workload was too much and she wanted to use Izumi as a ghost writer in order to meet the growing demand (plus their writing styles have been stated to be similar). For a second I even thought she was a fake and perhaps had done this with more people in the past... Yeah X'D I was reading too much into it, this is not that kind of series.
Also, I think she should take with a grain of salt a "1 million/10" score...

Pretty sure it was mistranslated (perhaps the word in Japanese for 'laugh' and 'smile' is the same but the nuance changes in context?). I watched the crunchyroll version in Spanish and it said "smile".

Wiiingbull, it gives you red.

Muramasa is left handed, makes my happy because so am I.

Wow that was an incredible scene when Sagiri actually came out of her room to share her feelings about her brother which drove Muramasa away.

Very happy our siblings won even if it was due to a technicality.

A very good ending there with that cool note from Muramasa giving Masamune 1,000,000 points.

It seems the harem is forming itself quicker than in Oreimo... and the girls are also being rejected quicker, lmao.

I actually agree with Muramasa's dialogue about how she felt once her favourite work of fiction ended. You really end feeling empty after knowing you "will never watch your favourite characters again".
I felt she was a bit obssesive with Masamune, though.

Yeah, my only guess is either it was an honest mistake or maybe it is related to their workflow. For example, they may have (at least) 2 separate people: one for creating/timing the script and another one for translating, or, if they have received the original script, one who translates and another one who times the translation. If the person translating is just translating from a script and not using the video (to work faster) it's a pretty easy mistake to make (as far as I know, most subtitling programs support video but its use is optional), and if we take into account that you can even translate subtitles in notepad... Many fansubbers in Latin America make this mistake and you can even tell they're translating not from Japanese but from an English translation (translating idioms literally, mistranslating false cognates, stuff like that).

Whew, he dodged that yandere bullet there. But we all knew this was coming when we knew the step-siblings weren't related by blood; thus perfectly a-ok biologically and sometimes legally, on top of the author's imouto fetish.

Though I personally would have chosen Muramasa myself, because the dangerous ones get my masochist instincts fired up. She's like a sugar-loaded multi-tiered cake to a diabetic; so delicious--but can kill you, yet still so sweet.

Here's a crazy theory. You know how Muramasa draws inspiration from Masamune for her stories. If Madamune isn't writing the same battle novels, she can't get inspired. By having Masamune write just for her, she can rip his ideas off even more. No one will know because it's not being published. Now there was a large gap when Muramasa showed Madamune her version of his love story to his sister. What if she read that story too and just improved upon it?

That sounds cool actually, I hope they develop the consequences on her creative side, not just the emotional one (also, that kinda reminds me of Togashi's influence on Kishimoto at the beginning of Naruto X'D). I'd say there's no way that wouldn't affect a person's writing, in real life at least.
Also, I got the vibe she lost on purpose with that massive novel... I'm not a native speaker so maybe I skipped over something important.
By the way, Muramasa's design and hostile yet clingy personality at first sort of reminded me of Nora from Noragami, then a bit of Haganai's Yozora with her school outfit.

And if Muramasa first started writing as a stop gap to reading Masamune's first novels, then why would she be the senpai? They didn't properly explain it all.

It's highly possible she lost on purpose. Her losing requires the editor to ignore what she submitted for the contest. You would think the editor would say that it is way too long just by looking at the thickness of the papers. And I think it was her poise, kimono, and hair cut that made her similar to Nora.
