I used Kiss Anime ever since 2014. It was easily my most visited site to watch anime over the 6 years. Sure the website deteriorated over the years and there was even a time where I boycotted the website because I got banned temporarily for blocking ads, but you know what....this website was real special ya know

Plus I don't think any other streaming site has the expansive library that kiss had. If there was an obscure show you wanted to watch, there was a 90% chance kissanime had it. I didn't think this day would come considering how much money they made from the site. Also the comments section off kissanime felt way more lively and responsive than other streaming websites.....well it was a good run, RIP my old dear friend

Good. Maybe some of you will learn to torrent now, even if the majority will probably just use another shitty streaming site.

your bookmarks should still be on your web browser if you're talking about the same bookmarks as i'm thinking of?

torrent is aids for your computer... completely slows your computer down and can give you viruses and you can still get fined like what happened with game of thrones torrent everyone got huge fines

lol, I stopped using that site many, many years ago. It's all torrents now baby. If there's something obscure you want to watch, you can usually find it on YouTube or Dailymotion, etc... If you can't find it, it's not worth watching at all

I don't see the problem... there are a lot of KissAnime copies that work just fine. I guess, greed may be their downfall. I mean, is one thing to stream illegal content, but to actually have a subscription and make money... that attracts to much attention. It reminds me of Megavideo. I recognize that I didn't keep up with English streaming services in the past 5 years, but I hope there are plenty alternatives, and the loss of KissAnime servers will not mean the end of those huge libraries... I mean for fuck’s sake, KissAnime's anime list has 188 pages... 97% of the anime in there are not licensed by anyone, so there is absolutely no alternative to watch them. With very few exceptions, Crunchy's library starts at 2009... thou only after 2014-2015 does it actually start to get good important anime, as they didn't really afford licenses in the first few years. As for Funimation, I have no idea what their library contains, as is not available in my country. So, sites like KissAnime are providing superior value... I am really starting to regret that anime had become mainstream, is great that the industry is making more money, but I hate what Western companies are doing with it, and there are still to many flaws in the system... Why is so hard for Japan to make their own international streaming service, provide translations themselves, and get rid of the middle man. The anime studios always cooperate in production, they could cooperate in something like this too... Or at least if you can't make your own shit, just buy KissAnime.

First is easily fixable by using a good torrent client and not having an incredibly shitty PC, the second can be fixed by only downloading torrents from trusted tracker, which will probably put your risk of getting malware much lower than any illegal streaming site, and the third can be fixed by using a VPN. GoT is much more likely for you to get fined for than anime, which still no government or companies really care about in the west even if you're using a public tracker and not a private one, the latter obviously being much safer.

It's mind boggling to me that there are people in this thread that talk about downloading bad streaming encodes instead of just torrenting in the first place. Streaming encodes always looked bad and always will and the same goes for browser player compared to external software like mpv.

That's too complicated for my small brain, I only have the mental capacity to using streaming websites. Plus if I have to pay for a VPN I may as well just buy the anime anyway have to pay either way

Kissanime was one of the very few ilegal anime streaming websites that wasn't that laggy and it actually ran on my good ole Samsung RV415. But it was bound to happen sooner or later...

Avid manga readers already have methods in place to find obscure titles so I don't think this changes anything.

Oof, how much anime is just lost forever now, I wonder? They might as well have burned the Library of Alexandria again. They pulled a lot of bs (such as the whole abblocker fiasco), but I took the good with the bad.
Well, there's still the -nz domain. It was a fork made a while ago. Not sure if the library is the same, though.

Anyway, rip KA.

For modern, new anime it's a good thing.

However, older anime often aren't on streaming services e.g. Tokyo Mew Mew. Anime such as precure will also be hard to watch without it.

This is really bad. I've seen this happen before with pirate gaming, once the big players are gone they will start coming for the small ones.

If you're watching or reading on another website something you better buy yourself an 8tb hard drive and start backing up everything
People still download pirated games from big websites like ocean of games even today. And ocean of games still works so..

There were literally thousands and thousands of anime consisted in kissanime. Though the website was indeed kinda shit, you could almost find every anime out there. And i doubt we could find those good old hidden gem animes in sites like 9anime or 4anime.

Just like me. If nyaa and horriblesubs get blocked and there will be nothing to subtitute them I just simply quit. It won't be the "end of the world" since I have other hobbies to enjoy myself with and maybe in the future I will watch again some of the series I have saved on my external hard drive but that will be it.
