| Heartwarming ending to the episode! Tomoko finally got to spend some time with some new people, even if it wasn't what she had in mind. The Hatsune Miku ED was definitely the best, too. |

| Sad episode IMO. The ants on Tomoko made me cringe. And Tomoko pretending to talk on the phone made me really sad for some reason. Well at least she found a way to enjoy herself in the end :) |

I felt the same way as her though, where I actually hope the person doesn't have friends so we can be there to make each other very happy, and it's a similarity we'd have in common. I've changed a little but...not much. I still love the wallflowers and loners... the ones who can't talk and seek a friend. I cringed so hard at the beginning btw, when she thought her brother was aroused by her. Jesus. |

| I'm surprised there were so many references. And that no one wrote about the moment when Tomoko opened lewd magazine. I'm pretty sure it was a reference to smth. Best episode so far. I may start to really enjoy this show. |

| This was my favorite episode yet I think! Of course it followed the formula I mentioned last episode that I would have hoped it didn't, but this one was different in some ways. Tomoko has a wild misconception on what made her lose her dark circles, and listens to the popular kids in envy to mimic them. Most of the jokes weren't hard to watch, the only real part that was difficult for me was the library scene. In fact, the boys helping get the ants off of her were somewhat sad to see. If only Tomoko was able to speak to them like a human being, she could find love and friendship, but her fear of rejection and longing for acceptance leads her to get stuck in her own head. In both cases where a nice boy tried to help her she shut down, thought about what was going on in her fantasies and awkwardly let the situation go by. It's a real shame, people are nice in this universe, if and only if Tomoko could get out of her own head she could see it. :/ You could see the worst side of her in that library scene I mentioned, her preying on the few people she thinks are below her because, in her mind at least, she thinks she can get accepted by them easier. Perhaps a better way to put it is she thinks they're the only people who could accept her. By doing this she's treating people as lowly objects that she wants to use like toys to help her realize her very inflated dream of what high school life should be. Finally we have the fireworks scene. This was easily my favorite joke, and scene in the series. Tomoko was able to realize what she really wanted in her lowest moments on that roof. Her fear to ask Yuu was too much because she assumed she wouldn't be willing to give her the time to hang out because, to Tomoko, Yuu is above her for having a boyfriend and looking cute. She may have even invited Tomoko to come along. However, when she was able to do something she normally struggles to do, be honest with herself, all because of the amalgamation of her having one of the worst high school days of her life, and possibly because she felt 'cooler' than the kids. The words appear on screen stating that she realizes all she really wanted was to watch something with someone else and have a good time, and she has that with happy tears in her eyes. However, this touching moment is quickly soured when she realizes that they're watching people have sex and not the fireworks, double however she gets really into it, definitely more than if it were fireworks. Sure, finding solace in a depressing life by candidly watching anal sex instead of fireworks with middle school kids is a hilarious concept, but I think for Tomoko to be happy and herself, there would be no other way. She was able to show a side with them she doesn't normally, her dirty, perverted, and childish side, all while doing what she really wanted to do. For that, it was really special to me and may mark a serious point in her development as a character. What a magnificently hilarious scene. |
