Ah, the grand idol festival. Very predictable final episode but it's what it is.

Nothing too special about the performance this episode though if you ask me. It feel similar to the others but I guess the idols poured more passion into their expressions. They still have so many fans lol

I guess the only good thing to say is that this anime reinforced how much potential Ai Fairouz has to come, thought she did a great job. The backgrounds as well were absolutely stunning

Overall though not much about this ep just like the series as a whole. Just repeated the same shitty formula with a few variations here and there lel. Still don't know why no shoujo-ai tag though (especially given how there's literally a les. couple actively present). sasuga MAL

The finale episode, and it still feels like any other episode, but with the signature finale twist.

BUT WHATEVER, the ChamJam girls have finally made it to the Budokan, YASSS! And as expected of a minor idol group, lower incentives are given. But even more expectant are the otaku fans themselves, awaiting for their group's spot.

For bad or for worse, Reo's haunted by the past with her rival idol group and former idol friend-turned-rival, but the other girls give her the vote of confidence to pull off their small performance, no matter the hardships of journeys it took for them to get this far.

For the otaku fans, they're as loyal to their group only...and as expected, Maina's line is forever lonely. But it's not Eripiyo that started the conversation, but Maina instead, finally mustering her courage to confess to Eripiyo for an amiable ending.

Maina and Eripiyo's special ED to end it all. Decently good overall.

When this first started, I thought it was a weird and strange anime. But as it went on, I fell in love with it. It was a nice twist to have a show that focused on both the idol themselves, and a certain bunch of fans as well!

Plus we've been cheering for the underdogs all this time, I hope they grow even more popular. As now we have a rival element, if season two comes about.

My final verdict is 8/10. (coincidentally this also happens to be my first idol anime for me as well so I may be biased..) For an idol show it was pretty well done overall. (and without any CG to boot!)

I will be pretty honest, I started watching because it seemed to be yuri (which lets admit this all looks like one huge yuri bait) but instead it turned out to be pretty damn wholesome. It was interesting seeing both the idols and fans from their viewpoint.

The misunderstanding at the end was hilarious lol.

Man, that was just too sweet an episode ~ Easily my favourite episode of the show too, and that’s saying a lot since I’ve been heavily enjoying this since episode 1!

Eripyo-san and Maina-chan finally on the same page, and I couldn’t possibly ask for more than what transpired afterwards! Sadly, Eripyo-san dented the possibility for a continuation though lol but it really was such a touching moment! Even that moment earlier when Maina was about to crumble but a familiar voice saved her in the nick of the time, fantastic! Couldn’t help but bump the score to a 9, y’know. And more on this in a bit...

Some wonderful Chamjam moments at the start and right before their performance too! It’s weird when I put it this way, but it’s so pleasing and kawaii to see just how they’re so not used to this xD. Some deserved closure for Reo-chan too, Chamjam is just the best ~

Minimal to no use of CGI for the performance this time around too! I really appreciate how the sequences were fluent too, great job to the animators for this! Backgrounds and the flowery effects throughout the season has been nothing short of phenomenal!

Yoshikawa-san’s little overprotective moment and a helping hand to Eripyo too, that’s just bliss! Last episode’s post-credit scene got me giggling a bit and I started to see him in a different light (I never thought he was bad though, just not as caring) but this sealed it. Props to the support staff too!

Absolutely hilarious note to sign off with! Yumeri, you silly 😂. On another note, the updated Op was really nice too!

Overall, this has been one of the shows to look forward to week in and week out for me. Misunderstandings tend to get over saturated in many shows not one bit for this show, I can see why many others wouldn’t be appreciate this though.

Each and every Chamjam members got their shining moments but my favourite, unsurprisingly, has got to be Maina! She’s just too sweet, and only Eripyo-san can handle that xD. Good thing she’s this out of this world and a lost cause lmao. Seriously though, Eripyo-san deserved this notice after so long and I’m really happy for her! It’s been a blast to see her endeavours for three months.

Hats-off to Ai Fairouz for absolutely nailing this role too! And that beautiful ED song too, she’s one to really look forward to I reckon. Speaking of the ED song, the duet between Maina-chan and Eripyo-san at the end, thank you for the treat!

I’m starting to wonder if Eripyo-san’s influence is slowly getting to me now...

Kumasa-san and Reo’s relationship was a real highlight for me. So happy for him. And you can tell the trust between the two, it’s too beautiful! Almost bittersweet that they can’t end up together...

Maki and Yumeri was such a tease and delight to watch too!

Back to the thing about the scoring. 8 is probably more deserving in all honesty but this show just kept building on me by the episode, so a generous 8.5/10 it is. First time watching an idol show too incidentally and I think I might just have an affinity for this sub-genre lol. Hopefully, I’ll get around to checking the Love Live! franchise this summer (after the Fate series). But please 8-bit, Season 2!

Ended up spending an hour writing this... I need to bloody sleep and bring back some coherence into my schedule, lol.

Pretty good. I liked the characters and that ChamJam got more and more focus as the season went on.

One of the main things I like about Eripiyo is that she's self aware of her love for Maina. She knows she's over the top but its never creepy since she's aware of Maina's space and genuinely loves her

I hope for a season 2 but apparently the rest of the manga isn't able to be translated yet or so I've heard

Also why isn't this shojo ai? It's as blatant as can be. It's the premise lmao

A good episode to a good series. It's one of the few series that I was looking forward to every week.

It was nice to see ChamJam performing at an event with other idols.

The ED song with Eripiyo and Maina was a treat to my ears.

Beautiful episode to end this season, everyone did a great job on the stage. Everyone from cham cheering up Reo was a touching moment, glad they were able to do their best. I'm happy for Maina she was finally able to say her gratitude to Eripiyo san. Also the post credit scene was funny.

Great anime, really loved it. One of my fav from this season, really sad it's over. I want a new season asap damn.

Oh man, I'm gonna miss this show so much!

Eripiyo was such a hilarious and lovable character. I really enjoyed the fan side as well as the idol side. I loved their interactions and how supportive they are with each other.

Aya and Yuka were my favorites, they really stood out from the rest. But it would be unfair not to include Maina after these 12 episodes and especially after this ending. I'm glad she and Eripiyo were able to say things clearly for once, leaving a nice ending, and even more so with that ending song. The ending is my favorite theme song of the season and hearing Maina suddenly singing it along with Eripiyo made me smile. It was really sweet.

I thanked Silver Link for the animation of Bofuri and I also have to thank 8bit for not using CGI on the performances. I really appreciate that.

That post-credit scene lmao.

That question mark at the end... don't give me hope xD. Seriously, I hope we have more of this series in the future. And btw, Ai Fairouz has a very promising future.

Great series overall.

Consistently funny, amusing and very unique in it's own way. I don't think I've seen an idol show that's quite like this one, especially with more focus on the parody of the fans than the idols themselves. Would love a continuation and to see more of this.

One of the most underappreciated anime of this season. No, it's the most underappreciated. 8/10.

Apparently, unlike internationally, it seemed to do pretty well in Japan, considering it has ~48k followers on Twitter (more than most anime this season). And the ending teases us with "The End...?" with a question mark. So I wonder if there's a chance that we'll get a second season!

Definitely underrated. Honestly my favorite idol anime now. I loved seeing the more underground idol approach rather than pros, and I loved the characters a lot. I loved how the idols respected their fans but also how the fan made fun of each other and themselves. The fan portrayal was also pretty realistic for the most hardcore. I use to make fun of idols and idol fans but over the years I've come to realize how hard idols really work and how inspirational they are to so many people.

The end... The subs just said "The end." with a period good thing I was watching the actual image and saw the "?" appear. I really hope we do get more someday.

Oh, and the dance animation was actually pretty damn good! I'm so glad they didn't go with CG like most idol anime do. Yumeri especially was hypnotizing when dancing, but I still got bias for Aya Maina

I expected nothing, and I'm still let down

Quite an obnoxious show about the fandom supporting the idols. I could had enjoyed it if at least the Simps had any redeeming values, but no, they were terrible caricatures of the worst, they would only live to see their unreachable waifus on top of a pedestal shine brighter than any other waifu, without a care in the world for their own or even personal health or hygene.

Maina is probably one of the worst self centered characters I've seen in pretty much any kind of fictional show. I despised her lack of care for her one and only fan and all she could think of was why did Eripyo would get only one ticket for her handshake when she could had had a pretty terrible day 8wich it happened quite often in the quite stale comedic mishaps of Eripyo for cheap shits and giggles)

The whole misunderstanding about the Tanabata letters was never cleared up and alike all other alleged comedic situations where Eripyo would sabotage herself before actually speaking out of her hearth in order to let Maina how she felt, were just quite vexing situaions. In a sense, it does quite remind me of Gamers and how the misunderstandings were dialed up to 11, but at least in Gamers there's a very satisfying payoff after the mid point, but in here I didn't feel any satisfaction throughout the whole 12 episodes.

I never felt that the Yuri shipping within ChamJam group was truly real, both ships ticked the same box, the kouhai oggling about the senpai and how they felt overshadowed. It also feels totally off that Reo's worries about her previous senpai being more famous in another unit becomes some sort of focal point in the last stretch of the series, when Maina & Eripyo's relationship should had been the main event to get somewhere (but of course these kind of cheesy comedies where the status quo must remain untouched in order to sell more volumes in the long run, is exactly that)

The only good points I can speak of the series were the chara design and the coreographies. That's probably the only good thing that has come out of 8Bit studios in quite a while, but sadly that's just basic frosting in a cake filled with fruit.

What a super underrated show, I'm so happy I stuck with it for so long. Honestly, the idols were the best part even divorced from Kumasa, Eripiyo, and Motoi (though they were really charming as well)! I was always super excited to see them interact as a group, and understanding them a little bit more episode by episode lead to a wholesome and heartwarming finale. I hope one day Eripiyo and Maina figure out they love each other, they'd be so supportive of one another.

This show and "Pet" are dark horses for me in this poor season. I'm glad that I didn't drop these shows after watching the perplexing first episodes. As I usually don't watch idol anime, it was almost an accident like Eripiyo met Maina.

My favourite voice actors in the show are the girls who played Maina and Yuuka. Both seems fresh to nearly freshmen. Especially, Yuuka's VA has unique voice.

My favourite characters are Aya and Yuuka. Aya may have the most down-to-earth personality.

As the feast/show has finished, my only pleasure for the moment is reading the posts in this thread and in this new poll.

So, I really liked parts of this, the animation was amazing at parts, the style was great and none of the characters was below average.
As someone that doesn't like idols I was hoping in getting some insight into the whole idol thing and while I think the anime was probably my best shot, and it had some cool tidbits, in the end I have to say:

I still don't get it.

At least I connected some dots, I get now that idols are very similar to the boy band phase most girls went through when I was in school, but it was a mystery then and it is still is now, how people get so invested in these marketed characters.

At least the show was good enough to stop me from trying to understand it, if this show can't make me understand chances are I never will.

As expected the writer tried to shoehorn in some pointless drama till the very end.

So far, I have enjoyed this series for what it is, (there really is no other show like this ) but the fact remains that it was often poorly written.

Instead of capitalizing on the interesting setting, it focused too much on pointless drama and misunderstandings.

With a high possibility of a second season, I looked into the manga raws if things change down the line, but it only gets worse. So I will be bidding goodbye to the series here.

By the end of it all, I am just thankful we had some solid voice acting, a pleasing art-style and the great Kumasa-san to save this show.

Why do people get overly invested in anything? Surely you have something in your life you're passionate about. Why? What makes you invested in it? Your answers are probably pretty similar to these people's answers.

Wholesome episode. I’m glad this show didn’t “reward” stalker mentalities like I kinda feared it would back at the beginning. In the end it was a pretty reasonable fan/celebrity story. I’ve bumped my score from a 5 to a 6.

MAINA-CHAN KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !!!

this episode was great, Reo trying to get past her "problem" (her past band) with everyone helping her,
then the fact the girls (specially Maina) were super nervous but hearing the fans calling for them calmed them and they had a great performance

then the Maina telling Eripiyo all that stuff (this time was kinda the opposite of the other episodes, Maina talking while Eripiyo didn't know what to say)

and ofc, that ending with the girls going to the wrong Budokan LOL (this is what happens when multiple places have the same name)

i didn't know what i was getting into while watching this but i have to say it was a lot of fun, and one of my top 5 new shows of the year, was gonna give an 8 but i'll just give it a 9/10, screw it haha

my favorite characters were Eripiyo > Maina > Kumasa > Reo > Aya/Sorane

This was a great anime honestly. I really liked how the showed the other spectrum of idols, the fans. It was actually pretty hilarious, and I really thought the character interactions were both funny and wholesome. And DAMN, I didn't know that Eripiyo's VA, Ai Fairouz, is relatively a new voice actor! I'm seriously impressed. She really does have potential in the anime voice acting industry.

I also thought that the background art was beautiful as well. Is it watercolor? Idk but their palette of colors was really beautiful.

I really ship Eripiyo and Maina tho, but I also hope that the underrated Maina gets more fans on her own! The lesbian couple in the group also had a cute and wholesome relationship. I hope no drama gets in their way, but they're in Japan, and they're both idols, so I can't get my hopes up.

With the The End... at the end... I legit hope this has a second season. Though I'm not sure if the manga has enough content after what this anime got from it.

All in all, probably one of the best this season. I'll give it a 9/10.

Also, I'll be honest. I feel like Yoshikawa (the glasses dude that works for ChamJam) is pretty much a DILF. Sorry, but every time I saw him, I thought he has them muscles. NFUWDNFLINEIWUGHREUILGNRE don't mind me tho pls

Took them 12 episodes to have a proper Fan-Idol conversation. Way to go, Maina and Eripiyo.

Lovely final episode. Always loved the sense of unity Cham Jam has so seeing everyone cheering Reo up was indeed a really sweet moment. Glad they managed to put a great performance in the end.

Being honest, this has been such an odd series for me. At first, I thought of it as a pure parody about Idols and the interactions with their fan-base featuring some questionably creepy characters but the amount of wholesome and genuinely heartfelt moments made me doubt about this show's intentions. Not to mention that seeing the contrasts between Eripiyo and Kumasa as fans didn't help clear my mind either but I guess I should be more thankful for this curious balance since Kumasa's relationship with Reo made up for those annoying and repetitive misunderstandings related to Eripiyo's relationship with Maina.

Anyways, leaving my conflicted thoughts aside, I gotta say this show has been a quite pleasant surprise. I liked the comedy for the most part, Cham Jam as an Idol group was rather charming to see and I particularly appreciate the fact that no CGI was used during their performances.

7/10 - If we leave the misunderstandings phase behind, a second season would be quite welcome.

I didn't dislike the perspective of the fan we got from the first few episodes, but it clearly avoided to put it under a negative light (despite that at first the possibility for some nuance or grey depiction was there), going as far as to give it a pink coating instead by the end, being an idol fan and dedicating all your time and money into it being shown as... almost natural?

Nonetheless my biggest gripe with the show is Eripiyo herself being unbearably stupid, if her character was more interesting and her background more explored (what was her life before being following the group, what kind of woman she was, anything) it would've been a whole different series. But we only get to see her as an extreme fan which is played for comedy, which ends up being too repetitive and jarring, also thanks to having the same kind of misunderstanding in every episode.

When it comes to the idols themselves, I don't think their characters afford much to the show, they're barely explored besides their one quirk and vague motivation, the yuribait is way too obvious and forced and hardly does anything for the show either. I imagine most other idol shows managing way more than this in their category.

Somali, Budokan, Bokuhaka and Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy same fate... and probably I forgot about something. :/
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.107/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.190/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.108/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.15/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.78/? - biweekly)
- You and I Are Polar Opposites (Ch.64/? - biweekly)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)
- If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die (Finished)
- Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (Finished)

Dude i really love this anime so much and its characters!

I like it when every characters have unique personality.

Cham Jams performance was miles better than 22/7 which a pure idol anime unlike this which focus on fans perspective but still did a great job on its performances also their songs were really good too.

VA's were so great especially on Eripiyo, Yuka and Maina

Great ending nothing special but it points out the motivation of Cham Jam to perform in Budoukan and highlighted how close the group to one another.

Also wonderful OP (Clover Wish) i heard the full version of it and its one of the best i heard in awhile then ED also which sang by Eripiyo's VA and with Maina in last ep which too cute af!!!!

Lastly a NORMAL convos between Maina and Eripiyo, Thankfully xD then seeing Reina and Maina holding hands was so cute.

Jeez thats a lot of compliments i probably gonna give this a 10/10 because im emotionally attached to its characters.

My top 3 fav Cham Jam members are

1. Sorane
2. Aya
3. Maki

If i would bang one of them i will pick Yuka because that voice makin me turn on xD
It's joke!

Season 2 Please!!
