great episode
Priestess used 4 spell instead of 3, I guess she's really grown up (idk if it's permanent limit cap or ?)

can't wait for the Goblin Lord battle & meat shield

What was the 4th spell? i already forget I guess... Heal, Protection, Protection, ?

Heal, Silence, Protection, Protection again, but a 4th spell was too dangerous for her, that's why she ends up exhausted.

Any offended sjw’s? Or is it ok to hang naked elves on the walls like mounted fish? She really jazzed up the decor in their dungeon and no wonder that poor Goblin was pist someone was messing with his artwork.

Haters can keep hating. Goblin surely beats most anime when it comes to fighting. No op MC no op sidekicks no one punches. Only pure strategy and experience.

The dulling of the swords is really realistic . Unlike sao where kirito literally slashed the goblins and the leader like the usual op hero he is.thats utter trash .

Its getting worse by the week. The way all the goblins died was boring, the way they fought the ogre wasn't good either, Goblin Slayer pulls out a scroll, uses it unconventionally but that was just any ass-pull you see. Without the 'edge', this show continues to lose steam. Now I am starting to think, have any of these fans even played a doom game? It's almost as if the entire popularity of the show relied in an over-the-top first episode that tricked the audience into thinking there was more to the show than just generic light novel fluff. Characters are still boring, generic character classes without names. This episode showed how 1 dimensional the mass produced rapists goblins are.
May I suggest a nice slice of life anime for you, as excellent dark adventure doesn’t seem to be your thing.

Or, perhaps mastering the ancient art of Auto Fellatio would be more to you liking as I can see your already practicing the techniques here.

Nope! Scrolls are lost tech. Goblin Slayer does have somebody keeping an eye out for another one, but they're rare and he's been adventuring without as far as I've read.

Not to mention she was used as a bait to kill anyone who tried to save her. Good thing GS stopped Priestess otherwise she would have been stabbed.

That was awesome. Goblin Slayer finds the most proficient way to slay the Goblins. Even using items that are not meant for warfare and weaponizing them to be deadly. The fact that I had d&d Baldur's gate flash backs was really cool stuff.

The animation of using the scroll was a total let down. :/ They can put money to making some T&A look good but they can animate one hell of an epic scene?

In defense to the High Elf Archer and the writing, lets look at the possibilities before jumping to conclusions. Though she is 2000+yrs old, her adventuring experience may be a small fraction of her 2000+ years of life experience. She may still be a virgin for all we know. Take Goblin Slayer for example. Just as he never took on quests without goblins, she could have only taken on quests with adventure and avoid horrors in the process. Same luck the cow girl had leaving the village before it got attacked. The story's setting is pretty much the luck of the dice. A 2000+yr old elf missing experience in something they haven't mastered just means they haven't mastered it yet. Our archer here isn't going to know everything, so the story is accurate in telling viewers no amount of years gives you every single experience the world has to offer.

On the other hand, she may have the experience but still act inexperienced when experienced again. Her behavior may have nothing to do with her age to begin with. She's an archer, and she has made it clear she doesn't want to get dirty. We should also take into account that the victim this episode was the same race and gender. A male might simple question whether they'd tap that themselves, though none of the male characters present would. They might react that way if it were someone unattractive of their own species however. It may also just be the smell of the room that caused her to react that way. Imagining what goblins do is one thing but experiencing it is another. Putting yourself in their shoes is hard enough to wrap your head around as is. Not everyone gets used to horror in general. Anyone can act like it's their first time even if it isn't. It may even be worse than the last time they experienced it.

In all other instances, her inexperience is a matter of preference or circumstance. If she hasn't drunk alcohol in those 2000+yrs, then she prefers something else. Say "adventure." Doesn't even have to be another drink. If she doesn't know to use the enemies weapon when hers is dulled, it just means she's never had too. I don't speak as a fanboy, as I myself see issue with the writing and haven't read the source material. The character I have a problem with is the Witch however, as chanting spells would take twice as long with that speech pattern. I just don't read into these things because it's not what the story is about. Whether a high elf can be ignorant of things they've never experienced over a period of 2000+yrs is believable or not is not up for debate. Elves are fantasy characters by nature. If she comes off as inexperienced, then she is [inexperienced]. She herself may be fully aware of it, but she sells herself as experienced as not to misrepresent her race. Especially in front of a dwarf. It's possible she'd act ... differently with other party [members]. Her own race in particularly or with no [dwarfs] present.

It will continue to suck worse in the following episode.

Manga did distract people well with its's well drawn graph and scene. Anime on the other hand...

They should just copy Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War, who is only aged for 175 (~14 y/o by today's standard) and never ever leaved her village instead of pulling off a 2000 y/o elfchild AND experienced silver adventure crying over a elf prisoner.

It's shit writing, plain and simple.

She's there to full the loli elf fetish and the original webnovel used Shiro from SAO as her portrait.

Nice seeing Dwarf and Lizardman's powers. That Iguanodo summon thing of his is pretty cool. Good thing they were able to save that elf.

I'm surprised that Archer Elf is so shocked to see something like that, she's lived for 2000 something years and she's never seen anything like that before? Considering the world they live in and her being high-ranked, I thought she's seen her share of shit. She's my fave but honestly, that surprised me.

Loved how goblin Slayer didn't give a fuck about the ogre and was the first one to get knocked out before coming back as a badass. Living up to his name.

The elves are pretty attracted, I want to see more of them.

if trope = shit writing that means every anime is shit.
why do people want realistic thing over a media that supposed to be surrealistic? after this i recommend you to make a thread about why anime eyes looks unrealistic.

you don't even understand what loli is, she's clearly didn't looked like an under aged girl, the priestess is, just because she has a flat chest doesn't mean she's a loli.

An interesting use of everyone's powers this episode, both to exterminate the goblins and then to deal with the ogre at the end. My only real complaint is that elf girl is way too naive to be over 2000 years old: sheltered is one thing, but completely unprepared for the reality of a goblin raid when she's a silver-rank is a bit silly (and her comment at the end about how adventures are supposed to be fun only emphasises that, as for Goblin Slayer this is an extermination mission, not an adventure).

Although the narration is not boring, I did not feel the thrill that is felt when one perceives the danger and the unpredictability of situations. I do not know if it's wanted, but the image quality is not excellent. Drawings and animations, etc., sufficiently good.

Scrolls are really rare and pricy as fuck. Goblin Slayer usually pay lots of money the guild to find any scrolls but it's possible that even after a whole year they don't get their hands on one.

I mean if you just wait...I read the novel and she spent her whole years living in a protected forest, doing nothing but hunting, eating and staying with her family. Only recently became an adventurer and she is so skilled she ranked up really fast to silver. She doesn't know much about the outside world and basically elves live like trees on their lands.

Also she is not a loli so i don't understand your point. Flat girls in anime doesn't automatically become Loli.

a 3/5 episode overall. The battle with the Ogre was fun and the tactics were 'ok'. But imo the tactics in the first episode by the Goblin slayer felt smarter.
I wonder whether the elf is gonna go the tsundere route(which I hope not) or just gonna become a trusted friend of Mr. Slayer(which I am hoping for). Also wondering whether the new party members are gonna stick around in the next episodes.
But one question tho. If the Elf was some thousands of years old I was expecting her to be more experienced with the ways Goblins in this world treat women. She seemed really shocked to see that elf girl battered up which doesn't make sense if she has been around for so long.
Also getting sliced by water doesn't make sense but whatever. That insult at the end was nice

I'm not a specialist but that was water from the floor of the ocean transported in a small scroll and trying to flow from there.

Water pressure on the floor of the ocean is quite huge. Not for nothing humans can not submerge so much.

i like everything about this episode ,that battle end quick (because we are not watching a typical shounen battle fighting fantasy anime) ,everyone do something usefull ,and more Trivia about Goblin

the thing i not particulary fond of episode (and the adaption as a whole) is the animation and CG it used ,i think that Stone Blast should looked like it did more damage(it did do more damage) considering the caster is a silver .and when goblin slayer got smashed by the ogre to the pillar ,the CG is so painfull to see ,the viewer supposed to be care that the main protagonist feel a lot of pain from that smash ,but instead the viewer is the one feeling the pain instead

now that i think about it i kinda wondering when will they end this anime ,
or more than that

I like how some people are complaining about animation, yet these same people will go and defend anime like one piece and Dragon Ball super.

Overall great episode and I must say Goblin Slayer is one hell of a crazy guy, the way he used teleportation was pretty amazing.

Meh I don't get it, the animation is really bad for a show just about action. Still enjoyable to watch a team going on missions in a fantasy rpg setting

Foi extremamente interessante, difícil e louco essa batalha contra um inimigo diferente. o ogro foi um cara que eu respeitei só quando apareceu a entrada dele.

Literally nobody think One Piece or Dragon Ball Super animation is good, you have been living under a rock or something.

This anime animation is average at best. I can't think of a single thing this anime excell at.

Probably the weakest episode so far. The second set piece is poorly presented. It could have done with less focus on the cardboard elf. The environmental set-up was sufficient though.
