Yes, because used the "Gear" to help to "boxing"!!!
I suppose that in the next chapter the young will lost against the champion and will try to vengeance in the Megalo Tournament, i suppose just!!! kekeke
God damn, I fucking like everything here. Sure we may not get the crisp art. But that is top notch art and animation. Look at those backgrounds... Holy shit those are art. Pacing is perfect, main plot is clear and precise from the get go and Junk Dog is a badass.
For people thinking the blurs are to save budget. You're dead wrong. This is clearly made with passion, the details and everything is quality.
Maaaan now that's a good first impression.
I'm really excited to see where this goes, especially seeing how this is a fresh and new director that's working on this. The animation and style gave me old anime vibes.
Definetly hope more people will check this one out.
Rocky the anime, and I'm saying that because Yuri is basically that Russian opponent he needed to fight against, only he didn't kill anyone (yet).
The only problems I had with this episode was that the dialogue seemed to force too much exposition where it felt very unnatural, and the story is actually a bit cliche. While the animation and shot composition is good to bold, I don't really feel it makes up for some of the flat writing, that said, I am excited for the next episode, if not just to see how the flight will play out.
Impressed by the animation quality, not for being it well animated (there are better animated shows) but by the vibes the creator wanted to give to this anime. An anime from the early 2000
really awesome first episode but this seems manly and mature so it will FLOP in japan, so the story will be rushed because the studio has to rush the story because there wont be another season.
This shoul've been a netflix exclusive, not the two trash that comes out in march

Yeah. I was worried because of this that there are maybe a little possibility it become 'the one who had better equipment win' rather than the fighter technical abilities. But I suppose and very optimistic it doesn't gonna be like that.
Love the plot of this show. The episode was intense and never got me bored. I'd say that I'm not a fan of that blurry art tho, it's ok, but atleast it feels like a 90s anime.
Anime of the season anyone? Although this is a tough season, it'll have some strong competition in Golden Kamuy, Steins;Gate 0, and My Hero Academia. Still, I have a great feeling about this one!
I’m feel so sorry for anyone who misses out on this anime I may be overacting since there’s only one episode and it was ridiculously Good but if it continues like this nothing can beat it it will easily be anime of the year no problem end of story.
Damn I wasn't expecting much since I never heard of it before, but the cover looked so cool I had to check it out. Glad I did! Super intense and intriguing first episode.
I just saw it show up on Vrvs browse section. I though, "well I like Hajime no Ippo, maybe I will like this." Turns out I found a great show, I cant wait for the next episode.
1 when jung dog was about to uppercut the man but got cut off by the bell
2 when he got punched so hard they had to frame it
3 when he was about to fight yuri and the whole time stopped the rain drops were mid air.
Also the background art is stunningly beautiful !!
Pretty dope setting and character design. I like how the show gets to the point hella fast instead of starting off with some narrator telling the history of Megalo Boxing or some goofy shit. It's hella immersive hella quick and that's pretty refreshing.
That soundtrack is fuckin bangers too. That shit added perfectly to the tone of every scene, especially Uri and JD's first encounter.
god i thought this anime on P/V isn't that good, but when i watch the 1st episode, my thoughts gone landslide.
This one is good, it's not a normal typical boxing anime out there, i definitely gonna watch the next episode.
Good start for this one, though it didn't blow me away being that the pacing was abit off and it was just some basic setup. I like that it has a very 90's style to it (Definitely got a Cowboy Bebop vibe) with some other design variety worked in, but not keen on the...low quality of the visuals? I don't know how to say it exactly, but while the animation is well done, it all looks like I'm watching an old DVD, sort of a blur to it all and that bugs the hell out of me. This anime is gonna have to get incredibly good to overcome that.
I've never seen Ashita no Joe, but goddamn, this sounds like something exactly to my liking =w=. I think I even heard 'The Hand''s sound-effect at some point during the first battle, so fk yes, lol.
Not to mention that Junk Dog punching his trainer/manager out of the ring was absolutely satisfying. That guy was really getting on my nerves and I'm glad to see that JD agrees :3. But yeah, the MC and his friend are sympathetic, it's exactly my kind of action anime, it's an original... I think I'll love this anime =w=
THIS IS WHAT A FIRST EPISODE SHOULD BE!!! IMPACT!!! On its first episode it has already shown what its all about and that fighting bout was intense right from the beginning up until when JD and Yuri will have their underground fight!!! GREAT!!! cant wait to see what this fight will be...
Oy oy oy, that was some great start. Love the art & animation, odlschool unfinished~
Bit odd to see the champ already there as it's the first ep but hell, wouldn't be so hype.
I have no interest in boxing whatsoever but watching this first episode has gotten my attention. I like JD so far as a character and the way boxing is sort of futuristic like with the gear they wear for the fights looks awesome. Very intrigued to see where this series goes.
