I learned one thing in MAL, if someone say anime is "relaxing" then I should avoid it. Relaxing = boring

Same thing with Yuru Camp, when people said that it is "relaxing" show, I knew that it is not good. I don't like to sleep while watching anime.

Kind of boring, but hey if it goes dark like the other shows, like Made in Abyss and Girls' Last Tour then maybe I'll come back but I don't think it's going to come to that

Girl Last Tour is not too dark and almost as bad as this show. ANd also episodic with no real plot

I only agree with u on Made In Abyss

This a joke ?!

While I do think violet evergarden is overrated, it is still miles better than this shit. You are comparing 7/10 anime to 3/10 anime in my opinion.

I approve of Shimoji and Matsuda as mains. They haven't had a lot of roles, but it adds a fresh touch to the whole anime, they work well together too.

The rest is pretty much what I expected: super cute, super round, super colourful. For some reason the insects' voices amuse me to no end.

Super fun.

Relaxing and boring are the complete opposites. A relaxing anime is something that calms down your mind and focuses on good character experiences. A boring anime is where all of the fucking cliches get jumbled up together and terribly written, like shit Beatless or Death March.

A slice of life anime is not always meant for you to get mind blown or make your brain crumbled into shit as if you see a fucking demon come after you.

This probably one of the best ones this season besides A Place Further Beyond the Universe, Gakuen Babysitters, After the Rain, Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card, and Takagi-San.

I agreed with you, Violet Evergarden burns out everyone's expectations from the trailers. But this anime is a whole lot better and more to explore. I can't wait to watch more!

Different opinions exist. You think they're flaws, other people don't. It's just that simple. Plus, there's no such thing as being completely unbiased. Objectivity doesn't exist in entertainment.

Being unbiased & being objective are different. Look, back then I wast just like you. Being biased about something that I like & not admitting any flaw that comes with it. I am sure you will understand in the future.
What you should do right now is try to look for flaws from anime that you like. Just try. And maybe your understanding about flaws, objectivity, & opinions will be better. That's it from me.

All of my favorite anime have flaws. The fulcrum of your criticism was that, quote, "It's so simplistic it's like watching [a] little kids' show." That's fine as a reason for you not to watch it, but you are trying to convince others to admit that a seinen franchise should not be "like a kids' show."

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

Don't bother, he's not changing his mind. Too set in his ways

Chemistry/dialogue between MCs not as impressive as SSR, but not bad.
Liking the atmosphere in the show, not 100% traditional Japanese, quite unique

I love this. It reminds me a bit of Tolkien's work. I usually don't really enjoy Slice of Life animes, but just the fantasy world is already entertaining enough to me.

Another series that I had an eye on is this, not because it is that who knows, but because of its structure of slice of life, which is so reminiscent of those souls in which life flows slowly and quietly, and is similar to those series of many years ago in which it was told of elves and fairies, what a nostalgia! Nice the two protagonists, for now we discover only their peculiarities and little else. Nice drawings and backgrounds, the soundtrack.

Aarrgh, such cuteness now that I've watching it and read what the story is about at the Opening. I really gasping the moment they finally meet with Kafu.
Looking at how everyone so kind to Mikochi, reminds me of Tohru the maidragon when she goes to the market with Kobayashi. xD

Good start to this mellow show. It actually really reminded me of Aria the Animation. IDK, it's just that kind of off feeling that also somehow feels right. I haven't tried to keep up with a new season in a while and I can already tell this one is going to be tough with so many good shows.

When I first saw this ep it was literally a day after I finished reading the Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou manga, so the two main characters of this show really, really reminded me of the two main characters from that show, making go "Are these girls going to die a horrible death after many happy adventures as well?"
Thankfully it's an entirely different series and I look forward to these girls NOT dying a horrible death like the girls of Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou probably do.

That certainly was lovely, and from the first second I noticed the cover I knew it was something I was going to like! This also very closely reminded me of Binchou-Tan however the atmosphere was still rather different and in a way less good as the Binchou-tan? Probably because there's more openness and dialogue.

But in general I quite like the setting and characters already, looking forwards to see what's next.

The OP and ED of this show is just too good I haven't skip them
The settings of this world, once again are great. Tiny people living in tiny tree house and goes to tiny cities inside forests and edge of bay
Hakumei & Mikochi having two different personality are complementing each other whike enjoying themself gives me fuzzy feeling inside

This is yet another show where i watched the first episode when it aired and found it boring and uninteresting, and now coming back to it i'm wondering whether i was blind or something back then.

It wasn't phenomenal or anything but very serviceable, the world looks very interesting and i really like the chemistry between the two main charas, let's see how it goes.

This was surprisingly faithful to the manga. It was interesting to see the story I've been reading played out.

I wasn't a big fan of how simple the animation was with the panels and how the people did not really blend in with the background. I would have prefered a more fleshed-out animated bg to this watercolour style but it's still pretty. I would call it ok instead of good.

I also would have prefered if the bonus info at the end was a bit more noticeable than just words in the corner next to the end credits with a half-faded picture. I think if it were me I'd have a sepia-toned image that the camera pans across while a narrator says what the bonus from the manga was. Either that or The same narrator looking through the newspaper/magazine/whatever the bonus bit in the manga was printed in. I think that would be a cute idea.

The first part did the iyashi for me well but in the second part, it was quite shocking to me that while the land animals all seem to have human traits and live in peace with each other (the main characters weren't armed or scared or even cautious when traversing the woods), they kill and eat marine animals like it's nothing. I wonder if marine animals in this world are like in our world and therefore much less intelligent than the land animals, or maybe they just live separately and have a different culture and language (like in Beastars).
I also wonder how developed agriculture is and whether consuming other animals is something that the characters in this show need to survive/stay healthy or do they only do it because of tradition and for sensory pleasure like people in developed countries in our world.
Maybe I will get answers to those questions in later episodes but I don't think I will be able to just relax and be comfortable watching this like it was apparently intended to be...

Not that all sea animals are fish or mollusks or crustaceans and such since obviously marine mammals exist, but it's common in some fiction where mammals are anthropomorphized that fish, birds, and other non-mammal animals are still regarded as and act-like beasts and non-people in the context of their world. In some the divide is not so simple as mammal vs. non-mammal and in this series it isn't so neat either, but it maybe should remind folks that the organisms people confer personhood on can be considered arbitrary. Intelligence is mostly a fabricated consideration factoring into it.

Why couldn't I discover this adorable anime sooner? This is so cute and unique! I feel like it's the wonder fantasy I was looking for when I discovered Made in Abyss. Well this has that toadstool fantasy aesthetic, but without the violence and horror... it's relaxing and cute and BREATHTAKINGly beautiful. From what I can tell the characters are about the height of a cantaloupe maybe? They wander around and gather vegetables and ride birds and the world they live in is colorful and beautiful. Mikochi is a little hesitant, while Hakomei is maybe a little more confident, and she has this conch shell that makes a beautiful sound. The music isn't Kevin Penkin but it is actually really good and fitting to the scenery. Even the side characters are just as cute, the woman they call "Masta" is SOO CUTE!!! She owns a little tavern and serves big meals to the two of them... it's so loving and kind and heartwarming I'm totally hooked.

The music and sounds are great, the animations are amazing. However, the story is too boring and predictable compared to a slice of life anime.
This anime would be a huge success if it had a better plot.
