This was better again, but I'm still completely confused about what's actually going on, and in all honesty this episode's fight scene (and the fact that Ren is apparently connected to Karl Kraft for some reason) has only added to that feeling.

Ahhhh... not again... The Quality... IT CAN'T BE SEEN! Nor felt nor imagined etc. Another Chaos; Child experience (WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN IN ANY CONNECTION TO STEINS;GATE). I mean... this kind of weak, sick stuff must be popular in Japan? What is this, third rate humanity entertainment?
I ate my breakfast in 16 minutes. Exactly this much time my essence was being tormented by this -(quality). No more.
After reading the other "inputs" I was bewildered that at least half of them was not outright bashing on this... piece of art. This brings me to the conclussion that I am either mistaken, or that at least half of the input providers are third rate Japs deviants. Now, I myself adamantly believe in the second, but just to make sure I will watch THIRD episode (or at least 16 minutes of it) to persuade myself that I am not mistaken, again.

I haven't played the VN and skipped episode 0 by recommendation of Tokyosaurus to "avoid getting lost".
So far I have just ONE question.
Why would you produce a series so confusing that you still have to play the VN? That's not how you get more players, it's just counterproductive (unless you just want to please only your niche audience, then it's fine I guess). Steins;Gate did cut things from the original but it was still totally understandable on its own. So far this has been more of a chaos;child kind of experience with way more generic elements. I almost fell asleep during this episode, I wish I was exaggerating; so far there's nothing that makes me even try the VN out of curiosity at least. One more episode like this and I'll be dropping it, and I rarely drop series.

Still at the stage of piling cliches... panty, random fight test (special "chosen one" talk incoming), two mysterious transfer students, & it's shounen fight gotta exchange full names & german rank... why not just share Line? At some point the real story will begin.
Priest of the grail? My Kotomine can't be this kinky.
At least Rea & Mercurius are interesting so far.
And Riza is really Rize.

I still don't get what it's about but at least it makes a little sense now.

Seems like Ren is being used by Karl Kraft in a war which he shouldn't be a part of. A war involving Immortal Nazis who have magical powers.

Waited a while to see if someone mentioned the identity of the killer. It's pretty funny to see people complaining about a series they're clearly not even paying attention to, they showed twice who the killer was very clearly even doing a close-up shot but nobody noticed.
Then there's the people that don't understand what metafiction is, or the guy saying why are actors in an opera introducing themselves with full titles and whatever, I wonder why nobody actually watches the anime, in episode 0 we have one of the villains acting like he's in Broadway and the other being surrounded by beams of light while he has some kind of catharsis going on.

I guess the meme about having to read Faust and Also Sprach Zarathustra to understand DI wasn't a meme for the average MAL user.

Had that vibe about ep0 to. It made some promises, and I wanna check in on thoose.

Ep1+2 were slow, boring or confusing. I mean...did that fight between Ren and the forces of evil really really happend or just part of his altered memories/imagination/dream/Vietnam flashback...
I dunno. At some point ep2 tells me:"Yeah, shit is totally true. See? People die!" and then "No, nothing happend, all is in your head, don´t do drugs kidz!"
Ahh yeah; 'people are dead when they die' - Was stated just b4 the fight...So something something must´ve happend, then unicorn-magic.

Being 'confusing' is not necessaryly a bad thing, but I do expect something in return. And so far the show did not deliever. My patience growing thin, so I will follow the "3-Episode-Rule" and give it one last shot at ep3 - maybe some fireworks idk...At least the outro song did grow on me, and it´s a good thing you can tab out while it´s playing ;)

The pantyshot scene was...bad, like really bad. No comedy; at least it did not connect with me. If the purpose was just blatant fanservice...well, it did not look visual appealing to me. I´ve seen fanart in elementary school that was better. Yeah, I´ve read that the VN had this scene, but I cannot comprehend why it was implemented in that way. They could have used the screentime for something usefull...

I get it that this is a crowdfunded realisation of an VN, and it´s tailored towards the fans of the original material. And in that regard, I can lower my expectation that everything will get explained to someone who is not familar with the source material.

Last thing for any1 who knows the original material or speaks japanese or does have access to various fansubs. Weltall subs weren´t avaible when I watched ep2.

The fight scene really did happen, Ren just forced himself to believe that everything was a dream so his everyday life won't end (this is one of the reasons he fought Shirou).

Now, he had his wounds healed by Rusalka because, as Bey said, they were just testing him. Rusalka also used her magic to repair the damage done to the park as they don't want to attract attention from the authorities (at least for now).

Episode 3 should answer some questions.

Takes guts to stare at a girl's panties, say their colors, and then snap a picture all while the girls are both staring and talking to you. Anyway, I'm getting weird vibes from this... like... Big Order vibes from this, as in, it's not good and I have no idea whats going on at all... but hey, it hasn't become a total dumpster fire yet, so that's good, though it is making some questionable decisions... lets hope it stays that way. Also I like the credits theme.

hmpf, the 2 seconds needed to show this onscreen...Now it makes sense, thank you very much!
I mean, they even fixed his clothes, and wiped the place...with unicorn-magic, now I get it.
BuuUUUUUUT, Rusalka 'Malleus Maleficarum' Schwägelin brought the line:"We´ll do this another day"
"We" can only continue when the memory of Ren stays halfway intact, hah, intentionally not wiped his HDD.

Slowly putting the pieces together; SO we got a MC with an sleeping great power, unknown dark past who struggle to uphold his own reality. I believe you that ep3 will clear things up and double the entertaiment value.
I'm not so sure if that was intentional or not.

Iam not an native english speaker(you might´ve already noticed :), but it´s a weird translation regardless the japanese sentence.
Or is it common to say "Thoughts are free" in english communities around the globe? So either CR fked up again or it was placed intentionally for whatever reason.

Well, it should clear some things, but it all depends on how much of chapter 3 of the vn they will adapt.

One panty shot, and half the audience—or at least the half commenting here about that scene—starts crying foul. Calm down. It's not the end of the world. Fanservice used to be A LOT more gratuitous. Personally, I kinda miss those carefree times. Many shows nowadays are restrained to the point of mediocrity. By trying to be inoffensive they hardly take any risks.

Yeah, people really got triggered by a panty shot that lasted a couple seconds. You could argue the scene show some of the MC's character. The dude calmy took picture of the girls' panties, put the average harem protagonist in the same situation and I bet he'll try to apologize for seeing their pantsu before being kicked by the girls.

I agree with this, i didnt mind it in the VN even tho it was funnier and better drawn there. But if you read the VN, they couldve replaced this scene with a more important one between the antagonists that happened before panty shot scene in the VN. In that scene, Reinhard and Mercurius were talking about their whole reason for their plan, as well as some characterization on both of them.
The peasant is bound by the king. The king is bound by the peasants and their kingdom. But the Viking is bound to nothing but themselves.

I'll give it a try before watching episode 3 (haven't read the spoiler tag). The only thing that kinda kept me interested was the killings mystery which was sort of resolved (needs to be properly explained though it was predictable). I'm kinda pissed that now that I don't have much time to watch series the few shows I've tried were disappointing... Let's see what happens with this.

Exactly. It showed a side of his personality that set him apart from the typical anime lead. He didn't panic or get a nose bleed, either. It's like some people didn't even bother to watch the rest of the episode. It's not the greatest show ever, but it's not bad at all. The mystery is intriguing. A lot of pieces have been laid out that'll, hopefully, come together soon.

Lol this reminds me of Mirai Nikki. "It doesn't make sense," says MC when he wakes up on the bench. Perfectly sums up this show. The ending song gave me nostalgia for some reason. I think it reminds me of the Hex Girls from Scooby Doo lol? I don't know.

I can't imagine I'll be sitting through 8 more episodes of this.

YES. Definitely reminds me of chronos ruler (which I dropped) probably due to the animation style but there isn't nearly as much garbage CGI in this one, but this seems slightly better and I can actually watch past 3 episodes.

This series might be one of those where everything falls into place around episode 6 and your mind is blown. That's what I think atleast.

I'm not finding this confusing at all, and I haven't played the VN (although I'm planning to because I really like the ideas in this). It's the kind of anime that slowly unfolds its backstory, and there's clearly a lot of it. This reminds me of the kind of novels I wanted to write when I was 14 and it gives me a nice feeling of nostalgia.
