That was disappointing. It was rushed. The content should have been spread over 2 to 3 episodes. The only gamble was the know your fan at the end, and that was not really a gamble. Also Yumeko was favoured in that gamble because she chose 6, which is closer to the median 6.5.

Sadly that wasn't going to work, what with this only being 12 episodes, and the OP always a type of foreshadow with where this was going to end. :(

I don't get what you mean a median of 6.5. Mary's birthday is in March.

The idol based competitions were different from the traditional gambling that the series has depicted until now.

Jabami just destroyed Yumemi.
Now, Jabami has gone and challenged the Student Council Treasurer, I hope she puts that smug son of a bitch down the drain.

Easily the most boring episode thus far.
They were also very lazy with animation, only to top it with that uncanny valley dance number. *shudder*

The animation was fine and the dancing/singing was the best part of the episode.

I really liked this episode, easily the best episode for me so far.

The best part is where Yumemi actually let go of her pride and suck it up like a proper loser, and allowed the recording to be played. It was scripted pretty well, "why don't you focus on my singing instead of dancing on your own" and "why are you trying harder than I am", these are actually powerful lines that showed how much she wanted this dream, and can easily win her fans back and change them for the better, shaping them into the fans closer to her vision.

Then, briefly after discarding her pride, she quickly picks it back up and challenges Matsuda, not letting him getting away with this. After being broken, this shows how strong Yumemi is to get back up and return to her original self.

As weird as Yumeko is throughout the season, where her thoughts are often said to be "unpredictable", one thing for sure is that she does not tolerate injustice. Yumemi is the victim, and thus she went through all the trouble just to help Yumemi out, at the same time giving herself the opportunity to take Matsuda down. She had been doing this throughout the show, helping out the weak (like what she did to Tsubomi in ep 5) , while killing off the strong (the student council members).

I believe the reason they cut off some parts in the manga where Yumeko is more sinister towards Yumemi is to make their relationship better as future allies. I did not read the manga though, I only came to this conclusion based on the previous replies in this thread.

The ED segment is nicely hand-drawn as well, however I believe they are reaching the limits of hand-drawn animation as the dance moves are kept rather simple. Love Live! added 3DCG because they had to mix in more complex dance moves for the sake of the live performances.

Good episode! The head games involved when Yumeko is gambling is what makes this such a fun series of events to watch! I really didn't think she was going to win but it was kinda disappointing to see everyone just accept the fact that the idol they all love thinks they're all garbage...wtf!?! So this Kaede guy wants the student council prez job...good luck with that buddy

You really don't know how the idol industry works like in Japan then buddy. The solid truth is that the whole thing is Toxic to no known boundaries. Hardcore fans are absolutely the creepiest of the creep (yes like the ones we see here and even worse).

They see the idol as the "image of their dreams" as the "unachievable" as literal Gods on Earth who dedicate their lives for you but you know you'll never quite get, yet regardless still belongs to you.

For this reason Idols cannot have relationships with people, and if they do, it is under extremely strict conditions and under severe scrutiny. Some companies literally force you in the contract to sign that you give up having a boy/girlfriend. Because you must be kept pure and innocent so that the fans can dream about you being "theirs" and "theirs" alone. It is deeply disturbing. So the fans still loving Yumite is pretty realistic given they idolize her as a symbol of worship. She talked crap about them yes, but it is irrelevant.

Normal fans, would turn away, but idol fans are not exactly known for being "normal".

Anyway this was a weak episode as far as the gambling concerns. It had some hilarious moments like the song (those faces were priceless) also I cannot get enough of Yumeko being so uncharacteristically happy despite everything that happens. She literally doesn't give a fuck and just lives for the thrills.

Now our glasses guy is coming up, and based on the preview I bet he can back up his arrogance somewhat. This will be amusing.

So rather than having just one game the battle between Yumeko and Yumemi will be a series of games then. Based on her previous words looks like Yumeko is trying to crush Yumemi quickly and get ahead of the president. Song grading is one of the choices then. Well Idol singers do need to have strong singing skills after all. So Yumeko's choice of song was one that's used during graduation then. Wow to think that Yumeko's singing actually managed to overwhelm Yumemi though and allow her to win the first game. Yumemi's contrasting personalities really are striking. So the loss for Yumemi was actually still part of their plan then. The sixth game sure relies one that relied on luck. Of course for Yumemi it also means that she can start to cheat as well. But just as Yumemi is getting serious so too is Yumeko. Wow so Yumemi ended up picking Meari then which is bad news for her since she knows nothing about her at all. So thats why Yumeko invited Meari, Ryouta and Itsuki. Yumemi had assumed that everyone here will be a member of her fan club but Yumeko easily derailed that plan. Yumeko's earnest look as she comforted Yumemi though.

To think that Yumemi actually suspected a trap and still ended up falling in one though. So even Yumeko actually just guessed when Meari's birthday was then. Man that was a lucky win then. Yumemi's assistant really cares a lot for her master though doesn't she. To think that Yumemi would give up on her dream as a result of losing to Yumeko in such a dramatic fashion though. Still the reaction of her fan club was pretty surprising. Even after being told her true thoughts they still support her man thats some dedication there. The duet between the Yumeko and Yumemi though was actually pretty good actually. So in the end Yumeko did deduce that someone else was setting Yumemi to be the fall guy here that would have ended with her retirement. Its interesting to see that Yumemi is also agreeing with Yumeko here despite the fact that she was supposed to be opposing her. The end result sure was unexpected though in revealing the treasurer to her fans. But what was more was that Yumeko would use this opportunity to have an official match though.

Damn, a lot of people didn't like this episode. Idk why. Yumemi's fans are kind of crazy for supporting her when they know what a twisted, self-absorbed personality she has. They clearly have no self-respect, but whatever it's their choice.

The treasurer guy is super serious, so I doubt he'll have much of a split personality thing. He's just et even more serious. One criticism of the episode is the vague/unclear stakes on Yumeko, because she clearly doesn't care about the money. I mean, Yumemi lost but it seems she'll be just fine (idk where the money thing leaves her). Well, I'll keep watching because I want to see Yumeko destroy the student council in any way she can.

Btw, I respect Yumemi for not being a bitch to her assistant. Most personalities like her would be.

I am saying choosing a value closest to 6.5 gives the highest chance of guessing closest to Mary’s birthday. Yumeko chose 6, and the idol chose 9. Yumeko wins if it is any month below 8. That gives her 7 chances. The idol wins if it is anything above 7. That gives her 5 chances.

Looks like the creators wanted anime-only viewers to continue believe Yumeko and Yumemi as pure lol by cutting out the parts in the manga that depicts their malignant side. I am not against anime adaptations that make some changes from the original work, as sometimes it made the show even better (most notably Usagi Drop, for example), well, we have 3 episodes left, let's wait and see.

Damn this got me XD. Nice piece there.

Nothing much of note. Not that its not interesting, but this episode is quite straightforward and self explained itself.

Since yumeko doesnt know marys birth month, she wrote 6 as a safe number. Seems a good but risky trick.

I got surprised and amused at two scenes.
One is when yumeko about to sing the first song, look at those three faces XD.

Then on yumekos face when shes rejected on a gamble.

5/5 Good for me. Next episode would be fun.
