Ha I get lots of attention due to my rigorous shitposting here

When I wrote "kills a bunch of people" I was referring to her starting a giant killer melee for no reason (well in the old series there was a good reason) other than sheer spite

It's probably gonna get deleted due to the "no reviews before episode 4" malarkey but I'll just resubmit it

The Reflection, from what I saw, was completely incompetent.

I've only seen the first episode of MiA and it looks aright, but I doubt I'll ever get to writing a review for it anytime soon. BnHA S2 did nothing for me. I thought the tournament arc overall was pretty boring and I just have not bothered watching anymore of it after that arc.

I've given up on this Summer season tbh. Kakegurui and Hajimete no Gal were my only reviews from this season. Was thinking about doing one on the Reflection but I don't know if I can stomach writing a review on that crap. I'm planning for the next couple of reviews to be positive ones of old gems that I've been needing to rewatch

Thanks. Hope it turns out as well as my others.

PB is one of my favourite films in general. My favourite work ever by Satoshi Kon

I am planning on writing a review on it as well as a couple other shows this season.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I meant only praising the show and not mentioning any issues or flaws the show has

Thanks, man.

Bahaha thanks for the feedback pal, I'm pretty inexperienced with reviews & I honestly didn't know how to make things nice & straight to the point without beating around the bush, so I'm glad someone understands ^^.

Alright tho like, Juzo and Munakata are pretty much the only characters that ended up mattering to anything, and even then it's on a pretty small scale since they didn't end up accomplishing much. Even Juzo's big heroic sacrifice doesn't mean much since the death game should've ended when Naegi survived his attacker phase, but I guess they just forgot about that. Juzo gets the biggest praise since they actually bothered to give him a complete character arc while most other characters ended up really flat. Even Yukizome wasn't really that interesting in the end, and with despair turned into lolbrainwashing her actions don't have any weight or even malice to them. She's not a person driven to what she did, but instead just a plot device there to make sure other characters do what they're supposed to. As for Kirigiri, she spent most of the show silently examining corpses, delivering one Phoenix Wright moment, and then fake dying to give Naegi more motivation and leaving behind a big book of all the answers to all the mysteries before coming back in the last minute so Naegi can have his big cheesy happy ending. She got reduced to a GameFAQs walkthrough and then a "reward" for Naegi successfully... standing by and watching the SDR2 kids fix everything. This is really lazy use of the character.

As for the DR3 characters only being there to get killed, there's a big difference between that and what DR1 did. DR1's characters had a lot more setup, their deaths were more impactful, and their absence was really felt as more of the school opened up for you to explore but with fewer and fewer characters around making it feel even more empty. Like, let's look at, say, Izayoi and Kizakura. Izayoi never did a single thing and no one cared that he died. He brought nothing to the story or the cast dynamic aside from being Ruruka's slave. Kizakura spent most of the show being a red herring and then dying as soon as he started being relevant. Again, no one cared and the cast's dynamic doesn't change at all. I'll give you Leon as DR1's one totally disposable sacrifice, since he died mostly to show the executions, but even Sayaka had a lasting impact on DR1. DR1 lost something each time a character died, something it could never get back because they're gone for good. DR3 was just shedding filler in a story that was also filler. I wouldn't even say that Ruruka or Seiko were particularly deep or developed. Seiko was cute and endearing, so it was sad when she died. That was it, she offered nothing else. Ruruka was the designated crazy asshole and she played that one role until her unceremonious death, which not one of the surviving cast even acknowledged.

I can't defend any of DR3's writing. It's bad. It's real bad. I respect that some can find it fun, but I felt like I just wasted my time and I'd never recommend it to anyone.
