So they made a bit of drama in the last episode, but it was alright, Nothing too heavy. Also there's still the OVA to end this on a high note.

Overall another very good show by KyoAni. The comedy was a bit weak in some scenes which is why I can't give it a higher score. The animation was wonderful as usual.

8/10

Great finale and totally different than initially expected, listening to Tohrus inner monologue at the end made me kinda sad.

Enjoyable show overall.

Its funny, I came for Kanna but stayed for Tohru and Kobayashi.

Very relaxing anime (apart from this episode ofc)! I'm hoping season 2 will be focused more on Elma/Fafnir or maybe the 'other world'

the final episode melted my heart every secound, seeing Tohru leave felt way more heavy then i thought and seeing the conflict between her and her father and knowing that due to the 'ever-marching-pace-of time-that-will-eventually-end-everything-as-we-know-it' she can only have this happiness for a limited amount of time, however she wants to make the fullest out of the time she is given.
This simple story about a normal person meeting a dragon managed to tell such a amazing tale that not only brought humor and laughs, but deep emotions and a sence of missing someone or belonging.
I think what broke the ice for me at the end was not the ending of the anime. but remembering the attack on Kyoto Animation and the 35 victims it resulted in. I know this can be opening old wounds but remebering reading 'Yasuhiro Takemoto' the director of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid in the list of victims really hit hard.
Thanks for giving us this amazing anime and so many others
but 10/10 anime highly recommend c:

Great show on the whole.

Enjoyed it a lot, it was fun, cute and was surprisingly touching with a lot of heartwarming moments that really made me smile.

Enjoyable and fun show. When I saw Quetzal, I thought this would be a typical random ecchi with boob jokes but then I notice there isn't ecchi tag so I give it a try, and it did not dissapoint. I also find myself grow fond on some characters as I watched more episodes. 8/10.

They went a bit too far in the finale episode, and made it melodramatic.

Bit of an out-of-nowhere finale considering the content compared to the rest of the series but other than that it was a pretty good way to wrap it up at least
Incidentally the more serious plot twist for the last episode happens to be shared by a contemporary show from the same season with a similar "supernatural x mundane" premise. Though IIRC the latter is not quite as serious/emotional as this one.

(That show is
, for those curious.)

However, I'm also somewhat sad because a decent ending like this works with or without a second season and I really want more - which this ending doesn't guarantee.
Fortunately it seems a second season is in the works!

Also Kobayashi's salary must be damn good, I mean she could just ask Tohru to fly to her parents home but instead she pays for their tickets like it's nothing so that they can fully enjoy the trip oh my god public transport is so shitty and expensive in my country ugh
The fact that Kobayashi can move to a new apartment and afford all this stuff that she's bought them seems to imply that she actually makes a pretty decent salary. Given how she lived before Tohru showed up, my guess is that she probably just wasn't in a position to really enjoy it all due to how busy her work makes her.

And with that father-daughter dragon fighting scene comes to an end, they go back to their usual lives. . .

It's been a while since I watched a slice of life anime and laugh for literally every single episode. Definitely an super enjoyable anime (that's KyoAni for you) Solid 9/10 for me. I'll gladly wait for the second season of this to be released this 2021 :)

So I'm guessing the dragon from the previous episode is just Tohru's inner-self or something. Also, Tohru almost did a title drop when she said "because I'm Ms. Kobayashi's maid." Idk, I just think it's amusing when shows/movied do title drops (if it's applicable).

Ah, never mind. the dragon from the previous episode is Tohru's father. Speaking of which, asides from his clothing, he looks like a stereotypical depiction of God. Which would have been a little fitting in a weird way, considering Tohru and Kobayashi are critical of God.

Kind of funny that Tohru's father is weirded out how a human likes his daughter. I mean, who wouldn't like Tohru? But thinking about it, Tohru's dragon form is scary, and she was a misanthrope back then.

Kobayashi's pretty brave for standing up for Tohru. She did get scared when Tohru's father broke her glasses, but still. A true atheist.

Damn, Kobayashi going to her family's home with Tohru to introduce her maid to her parents and their adoptive daughter.

This episode tackled heavier themes than the previous episodes. I was wondering while watching how they'd deal with Tohru's father. I was thinking there isn't really that much time left for a fight scene, and it would be such a drastic genre shift at the end of a season. Since based on my experience, slice of life anime that do genre shifts towards at the end of a season usually goes to drama territory, but not action or dark fantasy. So maybe they'd talk it out. Yeah, we got something that's in between, but more so on the talking it out side.

Kobayashi does really love Tohru and in this episode she finally showed it :)
I loved this episode but I think too different from the rest of the Anime. Maybe i'm just being picky with my Slice of Life addiction but idk.
I still loved this episode tho and I think it's a good way to end off this amazing Anime.

That's a 10\10 from me :)

A very very solid slice of life + fantasy, definitely a mixture of genre that i have been looking for for a long time.

Would've given the show a 10 if it wasn't for some uncomfortable scenes it had and if it didn't loose its touch halfway into the show.

I'd settle with an 8/10

Back after more than four years and this is still some seriously quality stuff!

I just love the cast, especially the main trio and the Fafnir-Takiya duo! No real conclusion on the whole deal between Tohru and her father and the talk no jutsu seemed to have worked for the time being but the subtleness prior to in the buildup to the climax is what stood out more for me.

I'm so glad that there'll be a season 2 and that too which will be airing in less that weeks' time. I can not wait, would especially love if they begin the season with the visit to Tohru's parents' house!

Oh yeah, and the Op still bangs!

One absolutely solid series of an anime. However to me, the first five episodes were easily a clear cut way above the rest. Those episodes were anime at its finest. From there though, I found it more generic as it felt like it was returning to normal anime mediocrity. Not bad by any means, just very mediocre, especially compared to the first five episodes which again, I find to be just the best. Would've given it an easy 8/10 or even a 9 if it stayed like that through out. But for me it couldn't keep up the energy. 5/10 as a whole.

Man, this season finale made me damn cry. That was great! Was really sad to see what became of Kobayashi after Tohru left for a while. Tohru's father is stubborn, but at least we are all in agreement that Tohru is a great girl lmao. I am guessing the OVA will be the visit to Kobayashi's home, excited to get to that. Overall, this was such a great and wholesome show that also deals with personal issues, specifically Kobayashi and Tohru. 8/10

But not gonna lie the ending was touching:')

Also the scene where Tohru doubts herself was rather heartbreaking.

This was such a great series, with it's moeservice and the message of accepting each other despite differences. The animation is so good too! 9/10

I appreciate that they went against the audience's expectations but this episode was a rollercoaster.
This came out of nowhere and felt a little rushed at times. Torhu's arrival was so sudden that I was convinced that Kobayashi was dreaming. I heard a rumour of a season 2 so I thought that maybe it would end with a cliffhanger.
It just didn't have to be that serious of an episode imo. The whole season was light and fun, why was the finale so serious?

Going to start the second season right after this!

I love how this episode looks back in a way at Tohru's impact in the lives of everyone else in the series, more specifically Kanna and Kobayashi. It's very clear when her father took her away she was very broken on the inside. And at the same time, it's because of Kobayashi that Tohru was able to stand up to her father and fight back, despite never defying him before in her life.

I love how this series is mainly comedy but still has some great moments of fighting, like when Tohru and Kanna played in the field or when they had the training montage to learn how to bend a spoon.

Overall I am impressed at how many times I LAUGHED OUT LOUD during the series. It does a really great job with comedy!

Very good finale. I liked the battle scene. I'm glad Tohru's father decided to give up.

Tohru and Kobayashi we'll stay together for many decades. <3

Lol at Riko's imagination. It's so cute how much she loves Kanna. ^^ <3

It's sweet that Kobayashi invited Tohru and Kanna to visit her parents. I think it was a perfect way to end this season.

Yeah, this is easily my favorite anime from KyoAni besides K-On! Excellent first season.

It was a 9.4 for me. While cute as hell, my reasoning behind it all is some of the weird shit you see. Starting off when we see tohru, she's just a dragon at first and then we're suddenly introduced amazingly to the main protag of this anime, Kobayashi. Kobayashi was not a bad one for me but tohru's intro towards her was kinda strange, but what's weirded me out is the simping on kobayashi from tohru. Tohru is more like a major simp, and too overprotective a bit like we see in season 2 with ilulu. ilulu wasn't the best character in my opinion, but she's...at least alright to an extent. The foreshadowing of kanna kamui in season 1 episode 1 made it pretty clever to know that we were going to soon be introduced to her. We are even given the foreshadowing of Fafnir and Lucoa when tohru called them. Takiya's intro was...not the best, but pretty good. Kobayashi's drunk moments were fucking hilarious especially in the dub. We are soon introduced to saikawa, a total simp for kanna who looks like she barely gives a shit at times. Saikawa's introduction was the worst way to introduce her until she got better, but i wasn't fond of her. Georgia i found innocent as hell though, being the maid of saikawa. We are then introduced to Shouta kun, the boy who "summoned" lucoa when she jumped through just to get summoned by him as she sensed the ritual. SHouta i enjoyed how he was portrayed but lucoa was kinda....too obsessed a little, so i don't blame shouta for his reactions, sorry lucoa. We are soon introduced to this girl Elma, who is probably the most badass and silly of the dragons from my pov. She has her badass, yet cute and silly moments, so elma is cute as shit..but...we are soon introduced to the father of tohru, very well introduced may I add. His intro was the most amazing way to show the villain of the anime, and the speech of kobayashi towards them was pretty splendid in my opinion. Overall, we need a season 3 of this anime, no question! WE NEED SEASON 3 BOIS!!!

The final episode of this series does not disappoint. If this series ended on this note, I would have been fulfilled.

Tohru's father makes an appearance, and the tension is thick in this one. Miss Kobayashi has to come to terms with Tohru gone; but Tohru reappears and she is resolved to do something about it. The almost epic battle of father and daughter begins, and Miss Kobayashi comes between them. A resolution is made.

All in all, another great episode to sign off the season. I loved it.
