This just pulled me in and I enjoyed the ride. From the start I had hard chest pulls from all the crying but it dwindled as Deku gained more confidence.

The opening and Ending was really good for me- It seems like the past few anime I've watched just didn't have stand out music.

Throughout this series I noticed Deku was basically just 1 punch man lmao, but I'm looking for the second season now and hoping that changes. 8/10 for me!

I have small reviews for almost ALL anime I've seen. Unlike any regular MAL page you've seen.

Ever wondering what I've watched and what I think about it? Check my List out below!

That was a pretty damn good adaptation. The art could've been darker in the past few episodes to better display how creepy Shigaraki was and the pacing was quite slow at times, but other than that, I have no complaints. Soundtrack was particularly noteworthy and I'm expecting more good stuff in the second season. 8/10.

Well, there it is. The end. My expectations were crearly surpassed. They took a generic shounen storyline and made it so much better. I'm actually glad I picked up this series, because I am now going to read the manga. Good adaptation!

That wasn't just 100% awesome. That was Plus Ultra and Beyond awesome. Simply magnificent.

I have to admit, I've been putting this off for a while now. One look at the cover page was all I needed to say "Maybe later" again and again. Not to say it looked bad, but I never would have guessed I'd be using the word epic to describe it. At this point, I can't think of any better word to sum it up. Right from the very get go, it laid down a good vibe and I knew I was onto something special. However, it was episode 2 that had me completely sold. That moment when All Might told Deku that he could be a hero, that's where it all came together for me. Really, this series does a solid job at begging the question of what it really means to be a hero.

One of the marks of a great anime is something that can evoke a large array of emotions. Laughter, tears, frustration, anxiety, anger, love, inspiration. Boku no Hero Academia has a strong versatility that's able to bring out all of these and more without betraying the overall tone it consistently sets out. In particular, I like how it was able to go from fluffy and light (i.e. Uraraka's char design) to extremely intense and menacing (Deku vs Kacchan, Nomu). The transition was always smooth and understood the key in timing.

BNHA is definitely a fresh breath for me, reminiscent of what I like about other shows of its caliber while bringing its own creative vision to the table.

Also shoutout to the OST. Definitely made many moments, especially love "You Say Run." Leave it to the composer of Haikyuu's ost to dish out another legendary collection.

8.5/10, immensely looking forward to starting 2nd Season (err, well, technically already did before posting this, but my hype is there regardless).

Okay so I have a few questions. We often see people with quirks that completely change their appearance. Like making them look like a dark ghost, or making them a cat... can they control this? They're still human, so is there any way they could go back to their human form? I feel like the writers skipped out on this a lot. Like I'm curious what parents would say when they realize their kid is stuck as a cat, or stuck as a ghost. Or with the invisible girl... can she not control her own power? Her parents must've felt awful knowing they'll never see their daughter's face again. Or maybe they can control it and just choose to stay in their forms to be more badass?

Honestly not sure what the complaints about pacing were. Maybe it's because I watched the show in a batch but I thought it really didn't feel too slow at all. Felt pretty normal actually.

Good first season, I enjoyed the hell out of this introduction and if it truly gets better from here on then oh boy....

That's was pretty good. Liked the action and art. But I felt like characters were pretty basic. Also whole 'some day most of world population got super powers and nothing really happened, just got some heroes and villians' was just lazy lol. But beside that story was ok. 7/10

The ending was a bit abrupt >_> But I liked the voice-over from older Midoriya, you can feel from his tone that he matured and changed a lot ever since his school years!

Honestly though, this season on its own isn't anything special, if anything - it's a standard shounen series with a supernatural twist, that's it. If it was over I'd probably be pretty mad, but hey, second season already came out, and third is on its way, so I won't complain too much :> It works fine as a prologue, although villains were just a boring bunch with uncreative designs, and for the first half of the series MC was too whiny and annoying... thankfully by the end of it he already improved quite a lot!

The strongest point are probably secondary characters, such a colorful and fun cast (not counting Bakugo), I want to see more of them in the future <3 7/10

seeing this anime remind me again that I should not judge the manga too fast
I had read the chapter 1 of manga long ago and totally thought this will be another cliche shonen show , so I decide to quickly drop it (art at manga scanlation was part of it , it was a bit messy to read ,still not used to it)

after a few months , I decide to watch the anime
and it really completely surprass my expectation
now I see why people rate it so high
and I have seen also seen some meme about naruto passing the torch to Deku
now I understand its meaning

the animation was quite good , quickly get me into this anime
the character follow some prototype , but they have their own unique characteristics
like Deku , at first I thought he was just your usual scaredy-cat protagonist(one of reason I drop the manga)
but I change my mind after see episode 2 and 3 ,and some episodes later , i see him using a good strategy too..same with all might and some others , they each have their own depth ..that what make a good character
and there has already epic fights too so early

hard to decide to give this 8 or 9 , but I think I will give it 9

Decided to do a re-watch of the series, this time with my non-anime watching significant other. She loved it, surprisingly enough.

As for me, it still feels fresh and doesn't really get old. The last episode is epic and really shows how awesome All Might is in his brawl with Nomu. Last attack was SSSIIICCCKKK.

Oh man, with these last few episodes in particular, this show made me feel like a little kid watching Dragon Ball Z again. I know the plot sequencing is standardized and divorced from reality, but I can't bring myself to care. Everything is so intense and well executed.

Still can't bring myself to rate it higher than a 6 for now because the plot and characters are very barebones, like this season is a like a prologue to something bigger. It needs growth, but fortunately there's plenty of room for it. With more time and episodes, it could be much better as a whole.

Looking forward to season 2!

Quirks don't develop until age 4 or 5, so Hagekure's parents probably saw her face as a child, but one day she just woke up invisible lol.
As for the other characters, its probably the same thing. They were humans until they were 4 to 5 and suddenly became cats. Also, quirks are (mostly) genetic. In the first episode (I think), Izuku's doctor says that Izuku should have gained either the levitation quirk, the fire breath quirk or a combination of the two. I'm guessing that the cat hybrid policeman's mom and dad were either both cats, or one was a cat hybrid and one was human.
Little freaky though, imagine one day a 4 year old waking up covered in fur and having a strange craving for fish.

Show would've been much better if they make such far-fetched quirks tbh

I don't trust that detective guy. His blank derpy face and beady eyes look too shady.

And how the hell did Nomu end up in the school ground, after getting punched that hard?

The speed and his trajectory should have clearly thrown him into space, or at the very least outside the city, not conveniently in the fucking school grounds of all places.

Overall, this was entertaining enough for me to marathon the season in a day, but nowhere near the masterpiece people said it was going to be. It felt like every other shounen. While some of the action scenes were great, wasn't much of a fan of the animation in them. They had the same problem I see in most newer action anime, or for that matter, even modern hollywood action movies. There are way too many cuts and fast editing, making it hard to see what exactly is going on.

This anime was pretty good though I do find it incredibly overrated. I like how different it is and how unique all the characters were. It's like an anime version of Marvels and DC Comics and I don't even like Marvels or DC Comics. The last three episodes were epic and intense. I'm excited to see what happens in the second season.

Amazing Finale and an amazing first season. I'm happy I'm finally able to watch this show, after I decided to resort to other sources, since it is geolocked in germany on cruchyroll. Enough of that.

Super amazing fighting scenes all over the season and additionally I love the combos and the creativity of fightstyles in this show. Tactical aspects and insight into Deku's thoguths and also other characters are nice. Lineup is very funny and it fells like many characters are going to go throguh some growth in the next season, so I'm happy to watch it over the next days, since I binged the first season in one day :o

After repeatedly being told to watch Boku no Hero Academia, I've finally gotten around to it. Can everyone just chill out now? Geez, people think I'm crazy when I tell them I haven't watched this.

It's honestly a pretty standard battle shounen concept, and strangely enough having it set in a school somewhat intersperses the action scenes with dialogue which keeps it interesting (yeah action scenes bore me, fight me). The whole Bakugo and Deku fiasco lasted a little too long and started to feel a little grinding by episode 6, but they eventually toned that down later on before it started getting annoying.

The huge number of characters still kinda go over my head at the moment, but the important ones have already stuck. The cast actually kinda reminds me of Danganronpa, a group of people with exceptional abilities brought together and we're kept anticipating on what some of these people are capable of, except BnHA's characters have more superhuman abilities and half of them don't die halfway into the season... which is a good thing!

Incredibly enjoyable and easy to watch. Then again, most shounen do start of good. Hopefully I'll be saying the same by the end of 60+-ish episodes.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

Great finale, nice to see some of the other pros at work as well. And All Might was awesome as well stalling for time just long enough with Deku's help.

Overall a really great anime, didn't expect it to be this good tbh. I thought it's just overhyped, but it deserves the praise. The cast is balanced and interesting, the animation and art is great and the music is quite epic if it needs to be. Still something was missing to give this the highest score, maybe in season 2.

i only really got into this after watching half of the second season and decided to catch up. now i think it's endearing and had fun, but the first time i tried to watch bnha i thought it was too childish and slow. the first season is slow and i wouldn't really call it what the anime really is, it's a prologue. it presents you the world where the series take part, where the characters come from and to be honest, i think it fails in hooking you up. i love the characters now, but i had to watch them in action before taking an interest in them to want to know where they come from. and i think that's where this season goes wrong, it fails in getting you invested in these characters that are not really bad, but they are just not appealing here.
besides that, i can't really see how they would do this another way. the adaptation is not bad, it kinda drags, but i don't think it would work if it wasn't an one cour series either. it's a matter of where to cut to have an ending. it wouldn't have good place to make that cut if it wasn't what they tried here. i don't think it would be better if they rushed it to fit more content in either, because after getting attached to the characters i could really appreciate this slow beginning.
so, i think to the people who didn't like this, i would tell them to start the second season first and after the school festival arc, come back here. sometimes linear storytelling doesn't work that well, and i understand that making this as a flashback wouldn't be ideal either.

That was a satisfying ending to this first season! I love the comic relief we got here (especially from Aoyama, aka Sir Bellybutton Beam).

And I love that Deku and All Might's relationship is different from the usual senpai-kohei dynamic. It's more of an equal relationship, almost like a friendship. They've saved each other's lives, they've taught each other things, they know each other's vulnerabilities. It's a beautiful thing.

Now I'm really curious to see what the villains will do next. Why do they need their own symbol in the veins of All Might? And why exactly do they want to destroy the heroes? I'm thinking there's a traitor at the school who's secretly working for the villains.

The next season awaits!

All Might is my favourite character in this show, so I am really glad he didn't die. With the episode titled "In Each of Our Hearts," I expected us to lose All Might and he'd be just a memory for the rest of the story. But thankfully he survived and can continue being inspiring in the next season.
