Ha, as expected...Ouma's lack of common sense gets him into trouble yet AGAIN.

About time Noelle got some spotlight in this show though. Up to this point, she's been rather irrelevant. And Ouma's wild nature actually impresses some of the others lol. I'm impressed by his fighting skills though.

Seems Kenousuke still has some issues especially with adapting to modern times, well a lot has changed.
Well for now i have to say that this was a funny episode.

The show surprisingly entertaining. Ouma and Yukina is definately a good pair.

lol Yukina's uncle able to have a chat with Ouma. When the her uncle sat down, Ouma follow to sit down, i guess the idea/definition of "monk" doesn't really change in many decades.

The best part is the interaction between UN peacekeepers and Ouma, as they are starting to acknowledge the samurai boy.

Nice episode. I am starting to like the characters more and more, both Yukina and the Samurai guy.

Also nice to hear de-gozaru again (CV: Asakura Momo) after Ayumi!

I don't think it is confirmed yet, but I think this might be a 2-cour show. (somebody correct me if I am wrong)

Now that I know about her...*Evil smirk

Great and enjoyable episode. Looks like Kennosuke still can't get used to the modern world, lol, but his sword use is pretty impressive. And so that's Yukina's little sister, DE GOZARU.

Well, that was a leak. So far still unknown. I hope it's true and to hear it soon.

While I was watching this I remembered that one scene from the Independance Day movie when that guy said: Im back!
"I lost all of what you could call feelings of love. They weren't sealed, so they can't be released. They weren't broken, so they can't be fixed. That which is lost, cannot be recovered." Shiba Tatsuya
"There are no regrets. If one can be proud of one's life, one should not wish for another chance." Saber
"No matter what happens, no matter how crazy things get, I'll always try to restore balance." Korra

Wait a minute... a robot and a cube discovered in the Earth years ago, a dam built around them to keep them hidden, and an MC with a transforming vehicle? Michael Bay-san's Transformers: the Animation confirmed! (The ultimate battle begins here: Team Kennouske or Team Shia?)

Yup, definitely feels like PA Works even despite the mecha and action :) I like the humorous tone and the bgm, and it's not too serious (yet?). I think it works well so far. The character interactions are nice, while Kennosuke is serious like a samurai, he's at least not a disagreeable person. He's quite cooperative really, and he has a good sense of duty.

I wonder why the demons disappeared for so long, and then now they're back? While the UN is trained to fight, it doesn't seem like normal citizens know about the cacti (that name though), yet from the way Kennosuke spoke, they were most definitely known by normal people. So many questions, can't wait to find out. Btw Koharu is so cute :)

Ahhhh so he's from the past and not from Mars....That works too I guess

Other than that, I'm really impressed by the fact that with each episode I find myself liking these characters more and more and also becoming more invested in them too

Koharu is freaking adorable and I loved every second of her screen time....Add that to Kennosuke being awesome and very likable plus all the funny moments, and you have a very good episode imo

That guy that swears a lot makes me die of laughter btw xDDD Man the character interactions in this show are so good

Just a average ep with little action by more on the context of Ouma's situation right now in this strange era.

Not bad episode, still wondering why mecha would kidnapped people, and since humanity in this seems to be already advanced enough to have mecha, why haven't they been in space and spot that giant thing

Pretty entertaining, It's always nice for me to watch people lost in time. I like the fact this sci-fi story takes place outside of Tôkyô or any big city.
I know there is nothing particularly good in story or aspect there but it is still appealing.
No matter how low it might go down, I will see the end of this.

ExoticBankai said:

Same question. If this is stationed by the Earth since four centuries, it should have been discovered even before humanity (re)started mecha creation.

Isn't this an old times thing? I remember Sasuke (Ranma 1/2), the Kunô family retainer using this to end most of his sentences. It rings strange in the mouth of little girls.

About old speech, a question for the few ones here who might know a bit of japanese: is Ôma using some old form of japanese or at least some words to sound ancient? Maybe simply an higher japanese than the usual in anime?

Talk about a diamond in the ruff. This show has been surprisingly entertaining, I wasn't expecting to like this half as much as I have.

The characters are all really good, I really like the dynamic they have going between Kennosuke and Yukina. And Koharu clinging to him is going to be adorable.

Overall, very nice feel to this show, may just be my favorite this season.

Ouma will have a tough time adapting himself into the modern times. His interactions with Yukina's Smart Phone was hilarious! XD

I'm liking the balance with the humour and action so far. I'm hoping P.A. Works can keep this consistency going for a bit longer before any major plot changes happen.

Koharu is one adventurous girl. Despite being kidnapped by the small mecha and being rescued by Ouma, I believe that the whole segment has only fuelled her love for adventure even more.

Overall, this was a great episode. =)

I'm still trying to figure out just how Showa period Japanese Samurai had access to futuristic tech... and could even use it and all that. Does this mean Transformers actually visited Earth way back in the early AD? How the heck did Kenousuke manage to control his "Steed" back in the olden days anyway? He would have needed another partner right?

In any case, Kenousuke's honor system is really awesome. Loved how he didn't really resist arrest all that much when he knew he fucked up, specially loved how he had the electric collar control and handed it to Yukina just in case she felt threatened by him. True Gentleman right there. Even with his wild side, he showed a lot of intelligence as well, adapting quickly to his situation until something amiss occurred (the UN soldiers manhandling Koharu) that didn't sit right with him.

Koharu is officially besto imouto. I love her Seiyuu and her mannerism!
Even though Kenousuke living at the temple may seem cliche rom-com stuff, I'm more looking forward to his interactions with Yukina's mom. I feel like their dislike for one another will spark some funny scenes very soon, specially with how crazy that mom acts sometimes.

This really is the underrated show of the season. I like all of the characters so far and the CG has worked well with some great 2d animation. So far it's the best Mecha show I've seen since the second season of Knights of Sidonia.

The humour and action is well balanced at the moment, hope it continues. On a side note the MAL rating so far is a joke, hope it goes up soon.

Every single character is just so damn charming in his or her own way. (Especially loved how Yukina took the whole hostage situation so lightly.) I had wondered how P.A. Works' style would translate to an action series. A mecha action series none the less! And honestly I like it, I don't think any other studio or any other writer (let's give Okada some due credit while we're at it) for that matter could have made this show and made it work as it has.

Just a guess.

Maybe that thing was not in earth's obit all the time and actually came from somewhere. And as to where did these aliens came from...well, if you remember how Yukina said she wanted to visit Mars in ep 1, maybe that is the hint?

I thought I was gonna drop it after the 3rd ep but I surprisingly liked it a lot! First two eps didn't get my attention because it's mostly about action and pretty rushed with not much explanation, so I'm glad they finally slowed down a bit with this ep without the need to drop all the action. They balanced it out by adding more character interactions. Koharu's adorable, and the uncle was likeable as well. I find myself finally liking Yukina and Kennosuke, and I can already see that they're gonna have a good dynamic. I just hope Yukina gets a little badass rather than just being a student and Kennosuke's passenger LOL And Kennosuke, glad that he wasn't as intolerable as I thought he would be, having been stuck in time and all. Looking forward to the next episode. Hope it gets better and better!

I don't get it people keep making good comments about the anime but it's scored badly on Mal, seriously a 6.93?? Yep people are definitely enjoying the series -.-

Anywho the whole lady of the box scene had me rolling on the floor Kennouske is hilarious I'm definitely loving this anime. Can't wait to see more of his character and his interactions with the rest of the cast xD

& I'm really hoping it's true that the anime might be receiving a 24 episode run it would definitely make me happy cause there's barely any good Mecha excluding Kawamori-sensei's work which are amazing, everything else is pretty much crap.

She's nice, but I'm allergic to pizza sauce de gozaru.
Koharu's bold adventures & samurai tv fangirl was super cute.
Btw "de gozaru" = "I daresay", really?

450 years, early Sengoku period.
Azumi Castle, Toyama. New tourism ad.
UN grunts super effecient capturing him again.
"Lady of the Box"
"I wouldn't lay a hand on any women or children!"... Ouma just grabbed Sophie right after. His prison break skills are top notch.
Sophie stomped the floor cursing him. Like the animation details, gives a bit of character.
So Monk is brother of mom, and likely uncle who raised Yukina.
Ouma vs UN, and vs Cactus combat choreography are amazing. More intense than the giant grunt fights last ep.

Ouma stopped being always angry, and started accepting the modern world. I like how the grunts (UN & Cacti) are both quite skilled, and mc isn't full OP, needing the shittalker to help that last fight.

Good anime. I enjoyed this episode. Liked the monk guy and the other chars all are good or at least okay - which is importand. (I hate anime with annoying characters.) Hopefully there'll be some more background info/explanation on those enemy mechs and how the samurai guy gut his mecha back in the samurai time period.

(Maybe enemy alien attackers and some other friendly aliens brought the mecha to the samurai guy.)

For now it is good even without background info. Was funny because he isn't used to the technical stuff. (Hilarious when he thought the "box" would be the mother and stuff like that.)
