Watching anime at 2x speed solves every problem, including filler
Does it solve annoying high pitched voices? I think not.
VLC does pitch correction when playing things sped up but I'm not sure how fast it allows you to go and still work.

Yes, I do. Some good, some bad. Won't know 'til you watch it.

It depends on how good your computer is. My PC went up to 8x once. However, it's impossible to comprehend what's going on at that point.

You can speed up a video and not have the pitch changed.

My most recent example of that is episode 64 in Prince of Tennis. They were setting up to a really good match and then bam, random crap about fairies filler episode. Screw that, I have the luxury of not wasting time on it until I want some side fun.

PoT's fillers are horrible imo. Especially the ones with the chibi characters doing random shit. I like the ones where they're at the beach though.
I skipped all of them and them came back to it after I finished the first series.

It's been ages since I watched a show which had filler episodes, and back then I've watched all of them without skipping any. Nowadays I'd do it as I do it with every show, meaning that if I enjoy the series a lot, I will watch as much of it as I can. In other words, I can't really generally say whether or not I'll watch filler episodes, it depends on the series.

Yeah I do, though mainly long episodic anime have them so I don't worry about them that much.

I'll watch them as long as they're entertaining, but will skip them if they're annoying, boring, or pop up like a jack in the box in the middle of decent storyline to kill the show's flow.

Of course, you can't say you watched the anime unless you watched every episode. I watch all of the filler the first time I watch a show and it contributes to how I judge the anime, with filler it's things like where it was located and how it worked with the setting/characters/timeline, how good it was, etc. Only during rewatches will I skip some filler(only really if I dislike the episodes). Filler can be good or bad, it can enhance a series or ruin it.

Filler does not mean bad.

We have to put up with lots of filler, be it sound or visuals. Watch what you want to.

Sometimes when they are great like Gintama's and One Piece's.
Avoid awful ones like some of Naruto's.
I'm having a hard time figuring out which episodes of Gintama that are fillers. Do you mean those episodes were the three main characters aren't in focus?

If it's a recap, then I skip through the episode. I won't know that I'm watching a filler since I don't inform myself before, I just watch it.
In my case, it's Detective Conan which has lots of filler episodes and I watch them all. However, there are the episodes which aren't part of the manga and those who aren't connected to the black organization (but still have a case).

Yep. For long runners, I prefer skipping and watching after I'm caught up because watching them straight throughout usually disrupts my pace and mood.

I don't watch stuff with the urge of finishing so yeah, I like to watch fillers. Some are good and some are bad, unsurprisingly.

1) How can you tell the difference?
2) They have characterisation, and help me enjoy and get to know the chaacters better, so why not?
3) You'd be skipping/missing out. It's like eating, then leaving out the or a carrot piece -_-

yes, I don't get how some people don't? Even though it hasn't got a big affect on the plot, it's still nice to watch and it may give information on characters and things.

Nobody has the same definition of filler. Some people call anything fun and episodic filler just because it's not relevant to a larger narrative. I say to hell with that if it's a well made episode.

Either reading the source material before it, and noticing that the events in the episode did not occur in the manga. Or going to a website that displays what episodes of an anime are filler and what ones are canon.

Yes. It's still part of the anime. Plus, sometimes filler is really good (eg Pikachu's Goodbye).

Exactly
Just because the manga didnt have the scenes doesnt mean it's not worth watching.
Stop comparing anime and manga adaptions with each other and enjoy both individually.

Yes. But the fillers I enjoy are usually slice of life fillers, just a episode covering the day to day activities the protaganist and his friends do when they are not engaged in combat or adventure.
