This is shoujo-ai portrayed in it's purest form of love, so I don't know why people can this "fanservice" when it doesn't even have any explicit ecchi here. If it's gross then that just means you don't like yuri and watching it really questions your sexuality. It's the same with Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. There are males that watch it for the innocence and the "bros" yet they called it gross because of all the kisses. It just really irritates me that people bother to call it gross. |

And doesn't seem like there's a story line at all… but it's all good. Hard to find yuri anime. I wish this series was a little darker with a plot… eh. Ep1: 7/10 |

Want to really grab peoples attention, just include a scene with some unusual camera angle or slow motion technique of something otherwise mundane or silly happening and watch as people call it genius. |

Sweet Blue Flowers) and Sasameki Koto. However, their stories are based much more on the emotional aspects of relationships and sexual identity and coming to terms with oneself. To my recollection, there is little if any on-screen hot girl-on-girl action. Both of these two series came out at the end of 2009. Episode 1 of Sakura Trick had more chicks swapping spit than Aoi Hana, Sasameki Koto, Maria†Holic and Maria-sama ga Miteru combined! | MAL uses the terms "yuri" and "shoujo-ai" in a non-standard way. Many other people are aware of this issue, but for some reason the problem has not been fixed. Certainly, this series is "yuri" in terms of the usage of that word by 90% of fans. A long time ago, "yuri" implied "hentai". But "shoujo-ai" used to imply female-female emotional relationships. Nowadays, "shoujo-ai" specifically means pedophilia directed towards young girls, in the Japanese language. So that is part of the reason why English- speaking anime fans are moving away from using the term "shoujo-ai". Bottom line: This series is Yuri. This is contributing to the confusion on the outdated usage of this term in the western fandom, as yuri is indeed the blanket term for non-sexual and sexual relationships between two girls in Japan nowadays. |
