Tomoko has some bad luck, her umbrella just broke randomly in the rain leaving her all wet.

Also, that was a mean spirited move putting scalding hot soup on Tomoki's neck to wake him up, didn't expect him to kick her so hard or even kick at all though since he was sick. Tomoko ended up catching his cold the next day at the end from caring for him.

You do realize we saw the episode as well right? There's no need for you to make a resume of what happened..

Tomoko becomes increasingly paranoid and deadly with his forked tongue, but also others if you seek it.
There were times when I really riso.t The plot evolves, very enjoyable narrative, every time I see Tomoko I feel really sad, but today a little pissed starnamente for his way of relating to life, not a criticism on its way of life but to his way of being negative towards everything and everyone! Well, I think he gets hurt us forever, but so will only poison your life. Think postive, makes you feel positive towards others! ^ _ ^

pretty cute with her little brother.

I would so totally watch a spin off of one of Tomoko's fantasies. In fact, someone should get right on that...like now.

Me as well, I felt so bad for Tomoko in this episode.

Episode was pretty sad in the first half, Tomoko getting soaked in the rain, and then Tomoko trying to be funny in front of those boys. Going to the bathroom and then coming back and going to sleep on a bench. The boy bought her an umbrella, I thought that was really sweet of him. Too bad Tomoko didn't realize the boy bought it for her. Second half was hilarious as crap. Tomoko pouring food on Tomoki was funny. Tomoko just wants to help her brother, just so she can get sick and stay home from school, but it didn't work and she had to go to school the next day. Now she is paying for it on the weekend, poor Tomoko :(

Haahahaaha, the scene where she couldn't find her umbrella had me laughing like a dork right afterwards...similarly to Steven15ify above.

You know how much I expected her umbrella to be blown away before she returned? One way or another, poor guy misses recognition.

Anyway, the kick was justified, she shouldn't have woken him up like that, even if she was hurt. I feel bad for her, but come on Tomoko, what are you doing to your poor sick brother

Talking awkwardly to make conversation adn then getting to know the other person wasn't listening.

Messy hair Tomoko was cute.

I think the textbook scene spoke volumes about her character. Tomoko see's she doesn't have her textbook. Out of horrible anxiety she tries to skip class because of this, of course she couldn't bring herself to ask her neighbor. But she can't. So, instead she tries to hide in her own invisibility and get through the period without being spotted. However, the teacher sees her immediately as he briefly and inconsiderately chews her out for not doing the easy solutions before becoming a problem- easy for other people at least. She cries to herself, and her neighbor kindly offers her his textbook. Later she curses him for chewing her out, and even decidedly wants to skip school the next day because she can't get him yelling at her out of her mind. In the actions she took, and how she was affected by the teacher, by wanting to escape, and being so emotionally weak she cried and wanted to skip because of this, I think no scene has captured her better than that one.

The raining scene was by far the hardest to watch so far, probably because I related to it too much. She's outraged that some kids are sharing her spot, she freezes up- unable to respond but forces herself to out of a greater fear of having this social encounter go wrong. She's awkward and reads the situation horribly. She tries to escape to the bathroom to cry once her conversation goes wrong and even tells the audience and herself 'please kill me now'. The magic part of this scene for me, was when she came back and we, yet again, saw the people in the universe of Watamote being honestly nice. One of the boys brought her an umbrella, and she pays note to this absent mindedly wishing for at least one boy to be nice to her. Tomoko's habit to look in at herself, more than out at other people, and to enviously think the worst out of everyone ends up ruining her and making her miss out on all the kind people out there giving her exactly what she wants. =(

I think the anime references are good in making Tomoko relatable to every severely socially anxious weaboo out there. References are good in comedy when grounding them in our reality.

Tomoko has acted kindly in the past, in which I responded by saying she can be a good person deep down. Then she locked her brother out of the bathroom and poured hot soup on his face and ate his food and I thought that I must have been wrong. But then the episode ended with her waking up and changing his towel as if it was the first thought on her mind. It made me realize that Tomoko is a hateful and mean person when she is envious, taking out her jealousy and anger onto others, however it isn't all that she is. When she is in an emotional state that is happy, or one she can control she actually shows herself to be a kind person.

The way the background characters are drawn without faces, or to be black and white are a cool way to show how Tomoko only looks at herself and not others, giving herself all the importance and being the center of her problems. It's also interesting when she's drawn in this way because it shows that she feels absolutely unimportant in comparison to the colored person.

I'm enjoying this, I just hope that we see some character growth.
