Mmh, I would lie if I say that I didn't see it coming.
Deep down inside I always found Takano suspicious.

But know almost everything makes sense.

That something was up with her was sure for a time now. This thing with the corpse in the drum being dead long before Takano always went missing, was suspicios all the time. But I have to admit, I didn't think that she was the evil mastermind behind this.
So, what is this Yamainu-Group? Is it some sort of military secret service, or are they some sort of private terror organization?

Woooooooaaaaaahhh... Well, that somehow explain a lot of thing and one of my theory. But I didn't expected her to have that much power and wit. That is such an elaborate plan she made. It really make me understand Ooichi plea when he was so much upset in the first arc of this season. He said that he can't accept to let the Hinamizawa bizarre murders end this way, because he simply never believed in that tale. With every villagers dead, the truth will forever be unknown. I hope he'll make the link between Jirou death and what Rika told him earlier.

I don't know why I never expected Jirou to be part of some kind of big organization. Now that I think about it, it totally make sense. I mean, it was really odd that a random photograph was always dying from the Hinamizawa curse when all the other murders where meaningful in some ways.

Now, it's also all clear why Rika is killed each time. It's simply because she knows. The way they leave her body in such a bad state is also probably to make people believe that it is due to the curse.

It confirm also that the Hinamizawa curse is that disease, or whatever it is, that Satoko has which make her hallucinate. I thought a bit about it and that explain the incoherence from the Satoko arc in the first season. Keichi killed the uncle on the road, but the day after, he learn that he's still alive. That mean that he never really killed the uncle, but just imaginated it, hence the incoherence.

It also explain why the doctor Irie suicide in some of the arcs, when he hear about Jirou death. He understand immediately that they have been betrayed and don't want to wait for her thugs to come kill him.

Holy shit...The sexy Takano is the antagonist! WHO FUCKING KNEW?! WHAT A PLOT TWIST! It's always the girl with the sexiest voice who's evil.

So it looks like Takano has her own task force who disposed of Rika, Rena, and Tomitake in the previous arc! So that's who those van people were!

Still don't understand why she's so willing to kill herself in that steel drum. Guess we will find out! We still don't know how the uncle came back to life in one of the earlier arcs.

Excellent episode! My favorite one this season!

I don't get it...so is Takano's motivation to simply "watch the world burn?" She wants to see the "curse" happen and release the virus...but for what purpose?

^THIS! Someone finally says it!

I mean seriously, what's the amusement out of 2,000 villagers dying from a deadly gas/pathogen? What's the merit in this besides some sadistic sense of power? WHY?! Gah, power hungry people make me mad.

Well, this was a good juxtaposition of lightheartedness to the world turning upside down. That's it. All over. Those goons are coming and there's absolutely nothing except that Rika has to put in another 25 cents to start the "game" all over again.

Just when we got that pig uncle out of the way, some piglet comes in his stead...who had been there all along.

If this series goes on, I demand to know what kind of twisted motive Tanako had for doing this...

Wow, so it was Takano all along, I should have seen that coming honestly. From the beginning shes been portrayed as a crazy bitch who practically orgasms at the very thought of Oyashiro's curse and all the people who have suffered from it. Her being behind it all honestly makes a lot of sense.

But damn was this a good episode, so many questions were answered. I really have no idea how Rika is gonna go about stopping Takano from killing her though. The only way I can think of is that she'll have to reset to another world and prevent Takano from killing Tomotaki, maybe by killing Takano herself.

Of course, she still has to figure out that Takano is the one behind it all first...

I have a feeling we're about to find out why this chapter is titled *Massacre*.

To think I liked that woman! This is the happiest timeline so far but now it's going to fall apart. If this is ruined the odds that Rika will be in a situation in which she can change circumstances like this are slim to none. I already know the ending outcome of this season due to accidentally reading the description of the third season but I have no clue how it's going to come about. Especially with thirteen episodes left. How many days after the festival does Rika usually die? That would give me a better time frame. :/

Holy shit... and it makes perfect sense. It makes so much sense that I can't believe I didn't see it coming. I'm honestly not even sure how there's gonna be thirteen more episodes of this; things are really coming together now. But I guess they're still miles away from defeating the antagonist since Furude doesn't have the slightest clue how Takano is involved.

So glad I stuck it out through some of the stuff I didn't like about this show in S1, this is getting pretty riveting now.

Ahhh. There we go. I was very curious what Takano “joked” about having in her trunk with the Uncle killing arc in season 1.

I think I enjoy this season more because I’m really interested in the real truth. Before I was interested in the deaths. This series also makes you care for the characters. They definitely feel more fleshed out.

Well I already figured it out that Takano must be hide something since first season, I mean she is the key to open new route arc with always begin to talk about Oyashiro curse everytime meet keichi and friends.

Mysterious atmosphere on her while she's also just a nurse on clinic doesn't make sense for me, since then my suspicious went to her. Already questioning who she really is for such a long time and now we know the truth behind this all. Good eps!

DAMNNNN SO IT WAS TAKANOOO!!!

I knew something was off, we got such a happy resolution with a Satoko in the beginning of the episode, I knew it was too good to be true. This show loves to juggle hope and despair.

A lot of interesting revelations this episode....
- The cause of Oyashiro’s curse seems to indeed be some type of virus/disease that is transferred through injection (there are levels to it as well as Takano mentioned Tomitake would be at Level 5, ie. the terminal stage, when he awoke)
- Takano Miyo and the Yamainu are the orchestrators, urged on by Takano’s childhood dream? being fulfilled (she definitely has some obsession with Hinamizawa and Oyashiro)
- Tokyo has several opposing factions: one that wants Hinamizawa Syndrome to continue (Takano etc.) ; and one that wants to dispose of it (Tomitake)...

As far as Takano and Tokyo’s motivations, those are still up in the air.
Very significant episode, let’s see how this unfolds!

As an end note, really satisfying end for Satoko. Seeing how much she struggled in this season and the last, it was very enjoyable seeing how brave she was ! Definitely my favourite character !

Alright alright, clinic lady is an evil b. Always thought she was odd but didn't really expect that.

So this Hinamizawa syndrome is a real thing. Not quite sure what this Tokyo organization is actually after, though. How does letting the "bomb" go off benefit them?

Glad they finally got Satoko's uncle.

Aside from photographer guy dying, this timeline is still churning along well, with positive outcomes. I no longer expect this attempt by Rika to "fail" and for there to be another timeline where everything finally comes together. There just doesn't seem to be enough time left in the season.

Five must be a lucky number. In the Railgun universe, reaching level 5 makes you the talk of the town. In the Hinamizawa universe, reaching level 5 also makes you the talk of the town!

On a more serious note, even though I'm pretty certain the pigeons are about the hit the fan, at least Rika got some good insight into how to prevent the immediate dangers to her friends so that in future arcs she can focus on the existential danger.

Also, it's always interesting to see how deeply the scars of WWII penetrate Japanese culture. To this day, it's a common trope for the military to be behind evil projects sacrificing people for some greater cause, often a cause associated with scientific experimentation of some kind.
Every day you can read a book or watch some anime is a good day!

This show is honestly brilliant. Season 1 puts you into the headspace of the villagers and makes you think all the weird things that are happening actually are from divine entity. When Takano called the villagers idiots and inferring they will doubt the autopsy reports, I imagine she may have also been referring to us as the viewer. Until now, we were too wrapped up in the idea of mysticism sold by the show in season 1. Now as we pull back the curtain, we are seeing the true nature of Hinamizawa.

Some things are still strange though and may not rule out supernatural influences. Rika and her magical friend are obvious tells that the scope of this story does not disallow the supernatural, so there may be another layer to the mystery that has yet to be uncovered (was it really coincidental that everyone Keichi condemned died from the "curse"?)

Its blowing my mind!

Two different parts, but everything just interconnected pretty well. Like i said before, the world really revealed the identity of the real culprit behind a certain mystery happened when the festival has been held successfully. Before reached that shit. Its good to seeing Satoko finally had an encouragement and strong will to beat her wrong mind about that shitty uncle. Yeah, no shit. All of their effort, even using the whole village resource, Satoko safety was their ultimate goal, and be glad its reached her heart! Goddamn, i hope its really became her lesson that she needed all the help, and everyone already changed their mind, so at the end she finally changed her mind too. Solid end, its like Rena end that eventually success to be persuaded by Keiichi. But on these world, its Rika's time to actually opening the damn heart of Satoko! Congratulations, Rika!

However, oh shit! The sign has not been erased. I am almost forget tje critical point of the story. Yeah, the story behind Oyashiro-sama curse. Its really just a hand-made incident by a bunch of an unknown peoples from an unknown organizations called Yamainu, that commanded by, Takano Miyo. Yeah, its actually Takano Miyo. That bitch put the parasite into Tomitake body and made him died like a suicidal action! The Hinamizawa syndrome. Irie sensei knew something off and might be in danger in the next day, together with Rika as their observation. Damn shit that were a great revelations! The whole new thing already bloomed. Could they prevented this part, and avoided the great disaster of Hinamizawa? Rika must be protected at all cost!

Ngl, I was already spoiled before that Takano was the mastermind but, holy shit the execution is so fucking good. Takano has always been a suspicious person, especially in Tatarigoroshi when she was driving at night with Tomitake's bike and as we see here she indeed have Tomitake's body in the trunk.

Takano is all kinds of fucked up though, what kind of fucking dream is that. We saw glimpses of it but, she's definitely a devout believer of Oyashiro-sama and she wants to make the curse real. The coming episodes will be fucking good, let's go.

I kind of had a hunch that takano is a key character in these events.
And now we also know that rika was probably being killed by the yamainu on the orders of takano and she also prepared a fake corpse to make it look like she was already dead before the festival night.

Takano was suspicious ever since she was shown driving with Tomitake's bicycle in the last season. Her motive remains still mysterious though. She wants people to believe in the curse but then she makes the villagers die anyway. So why even bother to create the rumour about the curse? Maybe she wants to fool people in Tokyo instead.
That talk about the vaccine reminds me - Satoko is probably taking the same vaccine. She probably has Hinamizawa syndrome. Glad we got a name for the disease.
