Hmm, honestly this ep almost felt like a filler to me. But it was still pretty good. I guess if you think about it, ending it with a ep like this is better than them bringing in something plot heavy and have everyone be like wtf while waiting for S2. |

I really apprecaited the montage of Rito spending time with all the other girls. In the original TLR series, I couldn't stand Lala but since she's taken a backseat in Darkness, I kinda miss her crazy antics, as well as Haruna's involvement too. There are still a few juicy moments to animate before it catches up the manga so a continuation is possible in the future. TLRD was very enjoyable and I'm happy to see the series animated again. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to rewatching this but with the censors gloriously removed! |

Didn't liked the ending of this one to much it lacked a rounding off from everything as it was way to open this time, perhaps there might follow a new season well I better hope there will be because this is a bit unfinished. When I was super surprised when he finally kissed someone it was Momo but well that was her fantasy so he didn't even kissed any character yet... nor confessed to haruna so yea I do hope to see a second season or some more ova's that would finish the story, but as the manga isn't finished yet I do think we'll be seeining a new one! In general the take on the story development was quite nice but the episode started to get quite boring and the pace was slowed down by a lot so that was a bit disappointing but for the rest the art and animations where quite nice and the main story line was decent! 8/10 Lets see what the Specials have to offer! |

Well they ended it without pushing the main plot further, which stopped any kind of cliffhanger which closed the season nicely. Oh man seriously, just when I think To LOVE-Ru is changing with the more focused plot, they go ahead and pull the popsicle scene on me! Well, this is To LOVE-Ru at it's best and as for what I watched the series for, I got a nice plot to go with it. TLR improved greatly this season and it was easily an enjoyable watch. Now, about those blurays... 7/10 |

VEE12 said: After browsing this forum for a little while, I thought I'd make an account and express my thoughts. I've been reading a lot of posts lately where members don't associate To LOVEる Darkness with the original To LOVEる and Motto season. I can see why many people would think that way, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I will admit, I was *worried* about this happening about halfway through Darkness. It really pissed me off. I do respect everyone's opinions and I enjoy everyone's thoughts, and I think it takes a little analysis to really see the continuity from season 2 to season 3. When I say I *do* associate To LOVEる Darkness with the previous seasons, it suffices to say that the plot is similar to the previous season and is continuous and that the theme remains the same. One could argue that the entire story is trying to say that hiding one's feelings is futile; it is best to show your true colours. I'll start off with the story line (plot): Rito starts off unable to act appropriately around girls. It appears he cannot even *talk* to Haruna in the first half of the first season. As things progress, we see him nearly able to confess his love to Haruna (the first important time was in episode 2 of Motto To LOVEる), and he DOES say it in the final episode of Motto. He may have not actually confessed, but the important thing is that he *thought* he was confessing. This shows how dynamic Rito has been. Could he have done anything like that in the first season? Absolutely not. But he *did* do it at the end of the second season. He also confesses his love to Lala, so we already have dealt with Lala and Haruna. The plot is far from complete (i.e., the harem plan is not finished), but it's progressing. Now on to Darkness. Remember I am trying to illustrate the continuity from the first two seasons to the third one. The plot is clearly similar to the first two seasons; indeed, the harem plan is really taking off. It's not something Rito would have even thought about in season one or two (and he didn't conceive the idea himself anyway), but now at the end of the third season, we see that he does consider it. This not only shows characterization, but also that the plot has not changed at all. The story is about Rito's love for each character and to create a harem for him. This harem plan has remained in place since the first episode of the first season, albeit very subtly at first. -- Now, to complete my argument, I'll show that the theme is identical and has not changed. Again, hiding your feelings is futile and it is best to express how you feel. Since we have already established the love between Rito, Haruna, and Lala, Rito would have to show his feelings for the other characters. How many times did we see Rito in these kinds of situations with the other characters? The most obvious one is with Yui. She begins to show a liking towards Rito, and they get closer as the season progresses. Even Oshizu explains in episode 4 (or somewhere around there) her realization of Rito's caring side and from there, begins to show an interest in Rito. And of course, Yami. Season one showed her trying to kill Rito on numerous occasions. Season 2 did the same, but it also showed episodes where they were hanging out with one another, getting along. Season 3 starts off the same way, but in the latter half of Darkness, more often do we see Yami *helping* Rito than hurting him (like in OVA 2, where she saves him from falling). Edit; added this important point: What about in the 10th episode when Yami completely opened up to Rito?! How she admitted she wanted to "embrace him"? So each character is beginning to show their *true* feelings towards Rito. I need not argue that Rito's true feelings are coming out. For example, in OVA 2, he admits that Nana has her own charm and he looks at her in a different light (when he talks about the look on her face). Clearly, Darkness has not diverged at all from the entire story line, and the author is trying to portray the same message as they did in the first two seasons. Thus, I conclude that To LOVEる Darkness can most definitely be associated with the previous seasons, in the exact same manner that Motto To LOVEる can be associated with the first season. They are no different, once you really analyze things. If there is another season, I would not hesitate in calling it a "fourth season" of To LOVEる, as opposed to a "second season" of To LOVEる Darkness. I personally think it is foolish to say that Darkness is fundamentally different than the previous seasons (I'm getting the idea that a few people think this way). I understand that many people think a certain season is better than another, but that is not the point here. I may have liked one season better than another, but it doesn't change my statements above. Many people have talked about how the first season had too many filler episodes, and was boring at times. I agree, but putting those opinions aside, it doesn't change my overall argument above. Just to make clear, my post isn't meant to encroach on anyone else's thoughts or beliefs. But this is a damn convincing argument! So what do you guys think? Too long, didn't read? Or am I on to something? I definitely concur with you on all grounds mentioned. I am not sure to what your rebutting though but I assume it's some individuals who have declared this show to be different from past seasons which they are so far off from fact. The show is definitely continuing from where it left off and do hope to see a season two of darkness as soon as more of the manga been published though I am worried if they animation studio will wait for more material or ruin it by going original. Also not to displease you by the time you took to write your say but I see it as a waste of time on MAL. As you can see nobody seemed to care to talk about a real discussion but to give their mediocre say "I don't like this ending" or something describing the ecchi or whatnot. This site is a big joke for serious discussion and fitting for crappy comments. There's some gems at times that are interesting to read by some folks from what I read on here but it's brushed aside by the vast mediocrity see all posts after your post up to mine. I am not displeased or offended by the fact that no one read my rant. Indeed, I didn't think anyone would! I have learned (and everyone will hate me for this) that most of the audience for To LOVEる in general is very unsophisticated, and closed minded. All people do is think about the perversions in this anime. Why wouldn't I just search for porn in that case? In the first two seasons, the "ecchi-ness" simply added humour to the show. It wasn't overbearing. It was funny. But now, it seems that most people feel it is "incomplete" without an excessive amount of perverted scenes. Like the popsicle scene that everyone was overjoyed about. I think the scene was pointless as it did not add anything worthwhile to the story. When I say most of the viewers are unsophisticated, I mean they either do not see the story the way I described in my first post, or they wish not to discuss it on the basis that the ecchi-ness is far more important. I suppose that is the nature of this genre of anime. I realize that I am in the minority, and I need to make clear that I'm not against porn or anything stupid like that. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying, how can most viewers not see the story for what it is. If they enjoy the perversions so much, imagine if they put that aside and analyzed the story much more! If they do see it the same way I do, then why do most people not discuss it? Perhaps this forum is a joke for real discussions like you said. At least it seems that way. Whatever, I only wanted to make that one post. My real intention was just to write down what was going through my head, because I was thinking about it a lot before and I just wanted to get it out. The fact that one person read it and understood it, is beyond my expectations. |

Initial Thoughts -Momo is a mastermind who plays ecchi games and that's how she gained experience o.0 -When you feel lonely start masturbating at the thought of Yuuki Rito. -Momo is in love with Rito but of course he doesn't realize it. -A club for Nana ^_^ "We like flat ch-" *Nana demonstrates the terror of flat chests" -VCM seems to be full of perverts who want Momo so badly ^_^ -Momo want's to make Rito more manly but she love's him for his kindness [biggest mind-fuck] -Oh my god is this happening? Good job Rito...Nevermind just Momo's delusion -Mea you bitch... -_- something great was happening After Some Thinking This season was really about the development of Rito's relationship with Momo, I really enjoyed this season particularly because of Momo's naughty personality wich makes it so unpredictable and fun to watch. Lots of harem planning went into this season from Momo but I really think it would be a shame and a let down if the show ends with Rito getting his harem as Momo anticipated. Dont get me wrong it adds a very amusing effect while watching this season but I atleast want to see more of Momo's and Rito's relationship [mostly because of momo's delusions my brain is going hay-wire]. I don't think that we saw enough of Lala this season as she is more of a filler character than anything else during this season, and with Haruna you just think to yourself "Will she ever leave, nothing exciting will happen with her around". If it was up to me I would really like to see more of Momo's delusions in the 4th season and I hope she will develop more bad habits like sleeping with Rito or Masturbating when she gets lonely.[All of these add to her character dramatically and make you remember her when watching the show, you ecchi people ;) ]. By this point half of the readers will have stopped reading this or just think that I'm an ecchi seeking pervert but Momo is the most fun character of the show at this point and if she stays like she is now people will just get bored of her. Most importantly out of this whole season there was only 1 thing that made me just rage... STOP BLURRING OUT THE ECCHI SCENE'S. IT TAKES AWAY THE EXCITEMENT AND MAKES IT LOOK PLAIN. I DON'T MIND IF THEY COVER THE PARTS WITH THE TAIL OR THE HANDS BUT THE SEASON SHOULD BE MORE LIKE THE OVA'S, THE SHOW IS 17+ FOR A REASON. THE BLACK AND WHITE BLURRING MAKES THE SCENE SEEM SLOPPY. If anyone got to this point, thanks for reading. I wrote too much but I just had so much to say :) If you are looking for other good shows you should watch HighSchool DxD as the show is purely based on ecchi scenarios and wait for it, The show has a storyline and a plot *gasp* |

wtf ice cream scene?! lolololololol awesome nakajima, kirito's seiyuu even now, i still can't get used to momo and her antics... -_- i think the reason why i enjoyed the original to love ru so much was because lala was really sweet and innocent, whereas momo is just REALLY horny alot of people seem to like her for it, but i cant really grasp the idea. still love the series overall! season 2 to wait for now |

It's a shame the show's finished. It was a decent last episode to say the least. I thought it could have been a lot better but it is what it is. Hopefully TLR gets another season as we still don't know about Nemesis yet. I leave with the yandere face: The first one isn't too much a surprise since the voice actor for Lala is the same person who voices Asuna. |

God damn, I know censors are different in Japan but at least one producer had to give a doubtful face to that popsicle scene. That was a bit nuts. That said, definitely my favorite episode and imo the best season of TLR. Momo is now my new favorite character thanks to all this new story, and this episode in particular really fleshed her out (no pun intended). The one beef I always have with TLR is character development. The characters are all likeable, but sometimes get stale in their stereotypes. Strong examples would be Yui, who is not only a tsundere but obviously obsessed with strict moral behavior. She's another favorite of mine, and it was great to see her questioning her decisions about Rito, but there were other opportunities that could have made her seem less one-sided (besides that rain episode, she's basically just seen chastising Rito. How about some more of that doubt, maybe some more facets of her personality?) Momo and Yami were basically the featured girls in this season and thus their backstories flourished. Seeing the nice side of Yami and the doubtful side of Momo really gave great background to the episodes. Also getting to see a bit more of Nana was great. On top of that, the animation has really really improved. Great stuff, can't wait for the next season. 9/10 |

well, seeing that the producers that picked up this manga, xebec, take on toloveru every two years, i indeed think we'll see a second season next year. they managed to cover 18 chapters and there's currently 32 chapters (well moreso including the extras but those'll probably be ovas). so there'll definitely be enough source material next year i can't wait to see nemesis animated - she's like the coolest character and yeah, to love ru darkness is definitely borderline H |

Poor MVC guys are gonna be willing slaves forever to the "innocent" Momo. Ah it's over, got to wait again if there's more season later. I'm still on Lala x Rito camp but this is a friggin' harem and Lala doesn't mind sharing Rito with everyone. *sigh* |

Just finished watching To LOVE-Ru Darkness!!!! I'm still jealous of Rito!!! >< How can he get to have a harem? Where I lost my path? What's my mistake???!!! I've waited for a kiss 200 f* chapters and 3 seasons!!! THE FUCK???!!! Even this one was imaginary!!! THE HELL KENTAROU&SAKI???!!! ...and I was hoping he'll make love with AT LEAST one of them (Momo&Lala in particular) ... and I didn't get even a kiss... Are the Japanese like that or what? Anyway, I enjoyed it. 10/10 P.S.: The ice cream scene was marvelous! I'll never forget Momo masturbating! :D By the way, when Rito was in the bathtub with Momo in the first episode - did he get a blowjob after their talk? 'Cause for me it looked like that... |

It seems, at least in the anime, that they confirm in 2 other episides that SOMETHING happened with Rito and Momo in the bath tub, what exactly whether it was a BJ, or something far less we are left to speculate or imagine, I doubt at that point it was a BJ. Probably more of a teasing action than anything. And as for this episide... All I gots to say is... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Its over T.T |

What kinda crap is this? They opened up a thin plot thread and they didn't even deliver on it, even though they had plenty of time to do so instead of just having it hang in the background for most of the series? and we didn't even get to see this "master". At least the previous seasons didn't pretend to have a story and insult our intelligence. I'm not that interested the story to begin with, but even a cliffhanger ending of some kind could've been better than this.. |

The popsicle scene is probably one of the best ecchi scenes. Momo is such a naughty girl. It's cool that the last scene is quite similar to the first scene. What? so this is the finale? it ended like that? there are a lot of things that left unexplained, who's mea's master? and what about the relationship between Yami and Tear ? like really i feel this series a little bit rushed i want more ! i'm so glad that Yami-chan got many scenes in this season. i wonder if there'll be a 4th season, will be missed of course <3 Overall score 9/10, now onto the OVA. |

Thank gawd I came back to this show. I want more Tearju and I pretty much became a Momo fan after this, though I doubt the upcoming season will revolve around her as much as it did this one. As usual I want more Kotegawa, but now I want Tearju fanservice. The improved action scenes really made it a plus for this season as well. I really can't see this show ending at all, and if it did I'd be sad. |
