An unexpected episode. I would of thought the mentor would of shot Wolf by his own accord, but it was Legato who controlled him. 2nd big shocker for me was Milly and Wolf having sex. I knew they had a thing going, but I would of thought it would be after the story is done... Super obvious death flag!

Hope Vash creates a world like Wolf wanted to be reborn in. Milly pregnant with a ton of kids (no idea what sextublets, will give...).

Wolfwood got the forgiveness and redemption he wanted since... like, one episode ago.
After finally seeing and accepting Vash's views, he dies because of them. I'd like to know what Vash thinks about this.

Too bad I already knew he was going to die. I still feel sorry for him though.

Also, Milly isn't a virgin anymore!

Aww man, Wolfwood was my favorite, RIP, yadadadadada....

My question is: Did he really work with Knives the whole time? I dont remember the entire series up to the this point but i dont recall there being ANY foreshadowing to this plot twist. It came up rather sudden.

So Knives and Gun Ho's are holding his orphanage hostage until he leads Vash to him. Well, why are the Gun Ho's trying to kill Vash if Knives want him alive? It doesn't make sense to me.

What's even more sad is that Vash was emotionless at end. He cried like a baby when Brad died, an insignificant character. It really does feel like Vash just let him die. Hopefully he redeems himself and his actions in the last 3 episodes.

R.I.P. Wolfwood. :(

Watching Milly cry like that was heartbreaking.

It was actually more heartbreaking than Wolfswood's very death. In my opinion his death wasn't dramatic enough, even Brad's death was more dramatic. Wolfswood died rather... peacefully.

I have to admit that Wolfswood's opponent was honorable. He really didn't want to shoot him, once he lost the fight.

And Milly actually turned out to be smarter person then she seemed to be. She's a way better character than her annoying and good-for-nothing colleague.

Awesome episode, and I also think they did it. About Wolfwood's past, they stated in this episode that he was ordered to protect Vash and lead him to Knives, but meanwhile it seems that the order changed into killing Vash.

And now Milly might have to raise sextuplets :))

The manga handles Wolfwood's death MUCH better. In there he makes a choice that he KNOWS will kill him but in doing so will save a friend. Also in the manga after Wolfwood dies at first you think Vash has gone numb, that all the death has robbed him of his ability to feel, but then he breaks down crying ad begs god to save his friend.

Like I said handled MUCH better.

Getting Wolfwood's backstory and seeing his relationship with Milly develop really made his death painful to watch. The writers did a really good job of pulling viewers in by the heart this episode.

Wolfwood had to go... It was a sad dead, but he made a pact with the devil, he had to pay for his sins. It was very symbolic, he carried the cross to the church and died on it. R.I.P. my friend, you weren't a bad fellow, just someone who made bad choice.

We're getting near the final, they're is still the jazzman guy, I'm sure he'll be no piece of cake.

Dammit now all I get to watch is mr McNoKill....I almost hope meryl dies just to prove a point to vash...his giant pussy is going to hurt the people around him.

people can say whatever they want about it being harder to not kill than to kill. that is only true for sociopaths.

anyone with empathy would find it much harder to take a life than not. vash allowing that kid to kill him instead of killing him is proof of that. it's no different than suicide. priest is the only reason he is still alive. and now hes dead because of vash and his gash.

Man I actually teared up (I'm not that much of a cryer.) Wolfwood was/is such a great character. Only thing that kind of killed it at the end for me was Millie crying. I'm watching the english dub and her VA is kind of annoying so the crying (at least to me) sounded really fake and obnoxious.

Then poor Wolfwood died which was sad because I liked him! ;_______________;

When they were listing the gung-ho guns (when we first meet them), they listed one known as "Church" (or something like that). As soon as they said that, I suspected that he was working for Knives. So yeah, there was foreshadowing.

They paired Wolfwood and Milly up just like that? No chemistry, no building up at all. Bad writing. It's like they said to themselves 'hey this guy's gonna die soon, better give him a love interest so that he can have a sexy time before going'. I'm upset because the writing has been quite solid, until now. Way to ruin a badass show.

Wolfwood and Milly came out of no where.

The way he die is some anime bullshit. A super awesome badass character living life on the edge, following the principle to kill or be killed to survive into adulthood on an extremely violent and hostile planet. And than only to be soften by our moral warrior mc and ended up dead because he got soft in the end....=(
I admire Vash's principle but this show is not helping his case at all....

RIP Best Character!

Cain the Longshot was a creepy character, all rickety and like a living ghost never talking, and then he shot himself. Wolfwood's death was foreshadowed a few times in this episode. It was interesting to see his background, how he was taught to act quickly, to not wait too long in contemplation like Vash. His teacher represented the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Eden/Paradise was mentioned a few times. The guy was holding an apple that Wolfwood couldn't seem to get to. When he finally did, he died but he finally understood the things he had always struggled with. Wolfwood x Millie was cute - they finally got together.

Damn, didn't think that Wolfwood would actually be with them despite what others have been saying. However partially I was right, in a sense that despite this fact he still was a good guy.

When Wolfwood has spared the life of his mentor I got so happy for a second that I slowly started clapping. That moment was great.
If not for Legato, Wolfwood would've been good, both alive and with a realisation that things can actually be done this way quite often. But at the same time... If not for Vash, Wolfwood would not have been in this situation (in danger of getting killed by Legato) in the first place.

I like how his death was handled. Usually, during sad moments like this, I just sit with a manly tear on my face and a lump in my throat, and that's how it was at the start of the scene in the church, but when Wolfwood started talking about a place without stealing and killing, basically quoting Vash/Rem... Damn did it hit hard.

Wolfwood was (is) a great character. But unlike some people here I can't say that it makes me sad to see him go. I actually have some sort of a respect for writers that are not afraid of killing off likeable and popular characters and I like moments that are like this.

There were some death flags, but this was still hard to watch, I can't believe the best character this anime had, died because he was infected by the stupid protagonist.

The worst was the way he said that "there are plenty of ways to save everyone", even though he was dying because he hesitated to kill. The way he said: "No! I don't want to die!! I still have so much to do! I want to stay... with them." was both sad and frustrating. He died all alone in a church, it was a poignant scene, but considering what lead to it, I can't help but to feel frustrated, those last three episodes are going to be a drag.
