| This was something new....manservice in the show LOL. Jinshi's reaction was priceless. Glad to see Mamao recovered enough and assigned a task this episode. Regarding Jinshi, I like how he always keeps his posture (outside of events involving Mamao). He showed his cleverness this episode again. |

| Lihaku is such a joke, lol. There is a possibility that Princess Gyokuyou is pregnant again, and Maomao has been appointed as a taster at the Jade Palace. On the way back from meeting a quack doctor at the medical office, Maomao was summoned by Lihaku, who expressed his desire to marry Pairin from the Verdigris House whom Maomao had introduced to him. Hearing rumors that one of the Three Princesses might be married off, Li Bai, who harbors feelings for Pairin, becomes restless and troubled. At that moment, Maomao suggests to him to undress and be naked. This family has been in the paper-making business for generations, employing an entire village. Then this girl swoops in and effortlessly improves their methods. It's like she's from a different league. And don't even get me started on Lihaku in this episode... his strip act... lmao. Even though I'm a straight guy, I couldn't help but be surprised. But seriously, have you noticed how his face doesn't match his body at all? It's like they belong to different people. Anyway, back to the point, Lihaku seems like a decent guy who could really hit it off with Pairin. Let's hope he doesn't mess it up, but go for it, Lihaku! Though on another note, Lakan... mysterious as ever it seems. |

| Another episode of peak fiction 🙏🏾 Maomao’s meeting with the quack doctor was funny, but the highlight this week was for sure Lihaku coming to Maomao for advice about Pairin. Mad respect to buddy for wanting to buy her out despite her occupation. That’s some real love. Learning that Pairin breastfed Maomao when she was a baby was interesting. She said Pairin never had a child so I’m guessing she was pregnant and had an abortion? Would make sense considering her line of work.. The body builder poses and everything Maomao had him doing had me dying. Of course Jinshi walks in right as she tells Lihaku to take off his underwear 😂 poor Jinshi been having his heart played with so much lately. You could damn near hear his heart snap in two when Maomao was explaining what they were doing. “Nothing improper was happening I was just taking a good look.” PHRASING Jinshi willing to do anything to keep Maomao happy, even giving Lihaku the money needed to buy out Pairin. Respect to Lihaku for turning it down and wanting to get it on his own. Wish nothing but the best for he and Pairin. I think she’ll choose him in the end thanks to all his hardwork Looks like Lakan is up to no good.. wonder what the blue roses are meant to symbolise.. next episode can’t come soon enough! |

| Rihaku being made fun of and Maomao creating a new misunderstanding. Well it looks like those were solved in the end but it was still funny to watch. Tho things seems to be on the move in the palace with Lakan planning something. Guess things should be interesting next time. |

| Definitely a change of pace this episode was. It was nice seeing Maomao talk a little bit about how Pairin was almost like a mother to her since Pairin did help with breastfeeding her, and she has been there by Maomao's side alongside the others as she was growing up. Maomao also recognizes that Lihaku isn't too bad of a person to be willing to go far to 'inspect' to see if Pairin would desire him for the long run or not as a preference. It was fine overall, definitely a breather of an episode compared to some of the others but an episode that didn't leave me with too many thoughts and feelings by the end. Some nice comedic moments at times but overall, it was just an alright episode and nothing more. |
| It's like the court doctor is Maomao's disciple now lol For him, this day was when his family was saved. For Maomao it was Tuesday. Oh wow, Lihaku was quite cool here (down bad tho). For some reason I'm sure that Pairin will pick him, and when she does, he'll be the happiest man alive lol. I like the scene with Lakan transitioning to a shot with rose thorns. Does it symbolize that he's a dangerous person or something? |

Lihaku is my most favorite character so I almost hate Jinshi when he interrupt Maomao's examination. I'm sure whoever marry Lihaku will be the luckiest person in that world, and I want to be that person. But since I just can't jump into a fiction, I can only hope Lihaku stay innocent as long as possible. it was specifically mentioned that she was able to lactate despite never being pregnant. What makes it possible to a woman to lactate is the presence of a specific hormone, so nothing too suspicious here. lactating also makes it hard to get pregnant which would be a plus for a courtesan. she didn't lose value because her value was never based on her purity, but on other attributes like bed prowess, and I'm assuming the fact that she lactates might be a selling point to some. |

| Pairin breastfed Maomao, damn I'm jealous. People with certain fetish eating good. Pairin's my favourite too so I can see why Lihaku is so madly in love with her and he turned out to be a great guy actually so I hope if Pairin is bought, it'll be him. She'll be happy with him. I wonder if Jinshi still plans to help him. Maybe assign him as his personal guard and pay him upfront? |

| Holy !! That was Rikuson at the end, and he's already voiced??! And by Uchiyama Kouki, Ruth/Shigaraki Tomura's seiyuu too, they gave him a pretty cool voice. I wasn't remembering him appearing so soon, or maybe they just did a cameo for the novel fans ? Also that's weird, I was remembering that naked scene going to the point when Lihaku did end up naked, and Maomao thinking that he also had the size in that area to please Pairin. Wondering if they just cut it in the anime or if I'm just remembering that scene wrong ;O. And yeah Lihaku being a bro as usual, good for him, getting a chance to show his bro side to the anime audience too. Anime viewers seemed to have quite misinterpreted him when he was annoyed at Maomao when she went to use him to leave the palace for a few days, let's hope they understand the character better now! |

Good to see Lihaku politely refusing Jinshi's offer of financial assistance. I mean getting your girl with your own money makes every bit of sense in the world. Love the guy btw. Also, as good as ever in Lakan's presentation as an irredeemable being lol. |

| After Maomao's interaction with the rear palace doctor this ended up being a mostly Lihaku focused episode. Him suddenly wondering how much it would cost him to buy out Pairin was based on a misunderstanding but it did get him more motivated and with Maomao saying if she likes him he may not have to pay 10k silver so Pairin may be within reach. On a side note I'm wondering what the blue roses phrase that Lakan said means as he stared at a dead rose bush. |

| At this point Maomao must be deliberately speaking in that way to mislead Jinshi, she must be a hidden sadist lmao Respect for Lihaku, I'm sure Pailin will be in good hands if he manages to buy her. I cheer for him! Slow episode overall but enjoyed a lot. |

I never really paid attention to the publication rate but it felt very erratic to me. Like, way faster for early volumes but for the last 5-6 years more like 1 to 2 volumes a year. I don't think we've had regularly 2, it just happened sometimes but not always.

| @Zefyris I had an impression that there were always two per year. But now that you mentioned it, it is indeed inconsistent. There were 2 last year, in 2021 and 2016, and 3 in 2015 but none in 2017 and only one every other year. |

| (If I could rate this episode more than 5, I will!) What a beautiful episode this was! Lihaku is such a great man, a good guy for Pailing, and they would have a beautiful love story where statutes or money aren't an issue for sure. I couldn't wait for them to be together. Much as how excited I am for Jinshi and Maomao's love story to fully bloom haha. But what I'm really looking forward to for now is for Maomao to finally meet Lakan face-to-face because you can't really run away from your past, especially blood, no matter what and I know this might be insensitive not being in Maomao's shoes, but I think it's already time for her to face her father whatever grudge she had of him. So looking forward to the next episode as always! 💜 [P.S. Jinshi is freaking beautiful and handsome it drives me crazy. Can't believe Maomao could even tolerate it, for real. HAHAHA] |
| A lighthearted episode this time around, and some manservice? Certainly a much more comedic episode this week, after a couple tense ones, which is certainly a change of pace. There wasn't too much to note in this episode, but it was nice to see Maomao's relationships with the courtesans at the Verdigris House, especially Pairin, whom Lihaku has significant interest in. The scene with Maomao checking Lihaku out was hilarious, with Jinshi coming in at the worst time possible. Overall, just a fun episode and not much more, but with Lakan's scene at the end, it seems that the chill times may not last for long. |
