| Welcome back, Dragevard! And I guess I don't hate them, but I'm not a fan of them either. I don't think they write the anime they make; I think they just animate them and maybe put voices and music in. That being said, MAPPA did do a pretty bad job animating Yuri on Ice, so maybe they are no good. On the other hand, while I did not like Chainsaw Man overall, I thought that it was well-animated, so I guess MAPPA did good there. But if I'm wrong, and the studio actually does contribute to the writing and story, then I guess I do hate Studio MAPPA. A lot of works from their studio are heavily Westernized works, but I'm not sure if MAPPA is to blame or not for that, or if they just happen to get the Westernized stuff from manga writers. UPDATE: Just remembered about Studio MAPPA abusing their employees and underpaying them. Guess I do hate them after all. |

| I don't hate their shows, but I do hate how they treat their animators. The abuse that animators at Mappa face is pretty common in the industry, although I am not sure if it is to the extreme that Mappa is. Mappa really needs to improve on how it treats the people who bring these shows to life, and the industry as a whole needs to change. The people making the shows we like shouldn't need to suffer while making them. |

| Depends on what you mean tbh. As an animation studio, no. I don't hate them. Every anime I've seen from them looks great, and I think they did an incredible job at adapting Attack on Titan's ending, which I was already a fan of in the manga. But as a corporation, I hate them as much as I hate any other corporation. The abuse they put their animators through is terrible, but it's no different than what you see from like 90% of the triple A gaming industry. All corporations are inherently evil and driven by greed. |

| You're back lol No, not at all. As far as big anime studios go, I think mappa is just what you expect. they don't really have a signature style or strength that makes me love the studio as a whole. To me they are kind of like bones in that regard. All their productions are good, but only one or two of them really stands out to me (mob psycho and space dandy for bones, and jjk and csm for mappa). and even those two are at least partly because of their massive budget. The only thing that mappa has made that I genuinely hate how they went about it is AOT s4, specially part 1. and not just because of their lack of time and cgi, those were all improved or fixed after part 1, but because I genuinely think isayama's art is nowhere near as good as what wit had replaced it with, and I do not get why they thought changing to the manga art style was a good idea. Other than that, their work has been great, even if they aren't my favourite. |

They’ve been corporate sellout losers who only produce battle shounen trash ever since Maruyama left, so I certainly don’t love them.
| @El001 Saying only is a bit unfair, they did just recently also make Maboroshi, vinland saga season 2, and Dance Dance Danseur. which were all very well received none battle shounens. there was also that one cooking isekai.... but like.... it was a cooking isekai so who cares. |

| I feel Mappa had it coming for a while. The more popular they got and the bigger their anime became it was inevitable that people would start hating on them. Like any studio they have some good anime and and some bad. Would like if they didn't abuse their employees though, sigh. |
| They only made 1 actually good anime, and that was Idaten, CSM was surprisingly good, but with the caveat of having the worst action in anime I have ever seen, and that includes literal slide shows. |
| Mappa is my 2nd lowest rated studio (weighted score), but also one of the few studios that managed to make 5 good anime from different franchises. Hit or miss. btw I can still like what they did with CSM even if an hypothetical adaptation with a more faithful style could have been even better. |

| Not too much. It's a studio that makes generally good animations. It treats its employees badly, but I am not that selfless to hate MAPPA just because of that. However, what they did with JJKS2 did change my mind about this studio in a bad way. |

| What would be the point of hating a studio? If they screw up an adaption you looked forward to, then it's more directors fault or am I tripping? If an adaption is badly made, like CSM like some said, then CSM sucks itself. Which it did and does since I've read and watched both. |

The last Anime I watched specifically by Mappa was "Hell's Paradise" and the only reason why I know this is specifically because you Dragevard created this thread (I quickly checked to see what they actually released recently). I would have never even realized "Hell's Paradise" was produced by Mappa otherwise. You ask if I hate Mappa? No. I really don't have much of an opinion about Mappa other than it's just like any other Animation studio. Just it seems to be talked about more on a place like MAL than something like say as an example Studio Fantasia. Animation studios technically don't really make an Animation, it's actually the staff that does the grunt work. If you know anything about the people who actually work on any given project, they basically float around from project to project other than the key players like the Chief Animation Director and it's not like they even stay localized to the same studios. Any given project produced by the same studio never has the exact same staff either. |

| No I don't hate anyone, I haven't been and seen them work so I have no opinion in this matter but... from what I have heard which is hearsay I don't agree with their actions and current treatment in the work environment + I dont know how Japans current state of economy is so I don't wanna say much about their pay but if it's true that they are under paid, they should try to find a new job. |

| I've heard their work ethic is pretty bad and their staff is often underpaid, but that's an issue that's rampant in the entire industry. So I wouldn't say I hate them but it is something that should be improved on. As for the works they've released, no I don't hate them, I've liked quite some of their works. |

| If they treat their staff better and give them a little more time to animate, they'd be cooking. If it hadn't been for them, Attack on Titan might still be sitting in limbo right now and we'd have never gotten a completed series. Vinland Saga might not have gotten a second season either. |
| I find the people that think the studio is flawless or try to excuse their mistreatment of workers more frustrating. Though the entire industry is full of mistreatment of animators and production staff outside of a very small number of exceptions so it's not really productive to fixate on and hate one studio for something that's unfortunately commonplace. They've made things that I love and things that I'm not too fond of like any other studio, so I don't have many strong feelings about the studio as a whole. They aren't the saviors of the industry or anything that hyperbolic; they're just a studio that typically puts out works with a higher production value. |
