I mean, it'd make sense if it was someone's first why it might be their favorite. The point in one's life when they played it may also be an aspect. That's a good point about tone and atmosphere, tbh.
P3 is definitely one of them. And we've already talked about .hack at length, lol. Final Fantasy X is still one of my all-time faves. Even have the Zanarkand Abes logo tattooed on my shoulder blades, lol. While part of it is because of nostalgia, Kingdom Hearts and KHII still have a special space in my heart, lol. How about yourself? ^^
Damn, man. Busy, you are, lol.
That makes sense. : p
So it wasn't great, but don't regret playing it, at least?
That does seem like it'd get annoying quick, especially if one wasn't expecting something like that.
Just a little bit of Nocturne. I got up to Matador, he kept kicking my ass, and I didn't feel like grinding, so I've left it for months, lol. Technically, Persona had the SMT in the beginning, but it got dropped, and isn't the same, anyway.
Sometimes challenging games are good, so in a sense, I get it. But sometimes the changes, even if they affect difficulty, are welcome. As much as I've loved Persona 3 since I first played it (the FES version), the subsequent releases of it definitely made it more enjoyable overall. The tired/sick/good system made shit difficult, and before P3P, one couldn't directly control party members, which was a pain in the ass.
Yeah, I've loved that track for twenty years at this point, maybe longer. XD I haven't played either of those. Barely played any SMT games, and I've never heard of the other one. What genre is it?
Sometimes, playing a game for the story and character development, or the world in general and game mechanics, is quite enough. Not every game has to actually be challenging, gameplay-wise. Sometimes just the ride is good.
Skeith's track was indeed something. And the Hulle Granz Cathedral theme has stuck with me for over twenty years at this point, lol. One of my favorite game tracks of all time.
Maybe, to an extent. I hate dropping shows or putting them on hold, for example. But sometimes, especially lately, if something doesn't pull me in (or more specifically, if it feels like a chore) I really don't want to devote the time to it.
Repetition can get annoying, but it's not exactly rare. Some series have eps that the first couple minutes is basically the end of the previous, not to mention actual recap episodes.
Well, there is a cheat mode. But tbh, it's been so long since I played the OG PS2 version of G.U., it's difficult to tell. It does feel easier, but .hack was never really that hard in general. Except for Skeith in Infection, or if one goes to an area in any .hack game that's several levels above the party's. Pretty sure it is less grindy, though, outside of Ryu book stuff.
Sometimes those sort of shows would be good for turning one's brain off, hah. But I get what you're saying.
Tbqh, I haven't seen RuroKen since it aired on TV 20+ years ago, lol. So I don't remember much about the anime. I have a few volumes of the manga I've re-read, and that description is semi-accurate. A fair amount of serious moments, though.
.hack was a product of its time, honestly. I don't know if anything similar that would be released nowadays would have the same feel, if that makes sense. I mean, it was created as a multimedia franchise, so that makes sense. Especially as it was done right, imo, lol. I've actually been playing the remaster/remake of G.U. on and off, and not only is it nostalgic, it's really like a time capsule, in regards to how we thought the future would be like (minus the sci-fi/fantasy elements, lol).
Nah man, you're fine. Tangents are good. : p
Sounds like, overall, it's worth the watch, then.
Eh, the first was a terrible copy of RuroKen, and the other was something set in .hack's world, lol. As for the high fantasy bit, didn't even get far enough for anything other than general ideas/themes.
So how are your projects going? And how is the watching, any tips for the current season?
Nah, you're all good, lol.
Doing that would certainly be an experience. Not sure hope enjoyable it'd be, because there'd bound to be at least one meh series in such a list (if not actual bad ones).
Eh, a couple fanfic stuff when I was a teen I never finished. And some high fantasy stuff, but nothing that I ever put serious time and effort into, lol.
That actually seems like a rather good way to go about it. It'd be difficult for me, since I get attached to things easily, but it does make sense that it would help in being able to build up one's skills.
I mean, the cover image plays a part sometimes. A lot if stuff I've watched the past couple years is stuff I've wanted to check out for years/decades, but never got around to. And I've gotten accustomed to either skimming through a studio's list of works, or looking for specific genres. Ends up going either way, as far as quality. But with some studios, it's been more hit than miss.
Fair enough. Has that YouTuber been doing it for awhile? (Never really got into the YouTuber scene, except for a few like Anna Akana, Laci Green, and Charlie McDonnell back in the day).
Eh, not much to say there, tbh. I used draw (poorly) when I was a teen. And I've tried writing sporadically (often with quite large gaps in between), but nothing that's really amounted to anything. Which is part of the reason I've always had respect for people that do, regardless of what field in may fall into.
Really, even just going off the cover image? I mean, it's probably played a part in what I've decided to watch, but not solely, lol. The draw of novelty is real, though.
I'll have to get back on you, on a specific title. One doesn't immediately come to mind.
Well, shit. It seems like you've been doing a lot. xD Respect for pursuing creative endeavors.
I don't know about the isekai theme for this show, I don't think it was needed for this show. It actually felt weird. The girl just acted like she is the reincarnated being so what's the point, and him well.. he semi-acted like her and semi-acted as his old self. And semi-acted as the infant who watched his mother get stabbed to death.
I liked the start but I really don't see AT ALL what it added that those characters were reincarnated as Ai's children, it just weirded me out.
The normal problem I have with these type of shows is exactly what I said, if they focus too much on negatives and seem to be STRIVING for negatives, it won't always go home well. As for your question, I don't think I know myself. Probably both, some things I feel and some things from my upbringing. But like I said it's childish, but I like to try to feel with the shows (the ones I like atleast), otherwise whats the point?
Don't worry about my takes for your creativity, if you trend towards horror (urk from me) or sad/depressing/thriller (could be interesting) it's up to you. I like sharing but you're doing it wrong if you think you have do adapt to me :)
Tbh, unless I'm really on the fence about watching something, I don't even bother with reviews. The aggregated score may play into what I watch, but even then, not necessarily. I've loved stuff others have found meh or bad, hah.
The second season was better than the first, imo, but it wasn't a favorite, regardless. I wasn't expecting it to be that kind of series when I watched it, honestly. And, more often than not, I don't care for the kind of characters Dandy was. Then again, his characterization was probably deliberate, lol.
What's been filling your entertainment needs, with not really watching anime?
They can still be enjoyable, sure. Just...dispersed more, for me at this point, at least.
The third Rebuild movie is the one where is started to really divert from the original series. It was good, but I still prefer the tone of the original, personally. Ghost Hound is fucking awesome, and so is the OP. Ironically, I think I watched it around sixteen, as well. That was a lot longer ago in my case, though. Lol.
I finished it a couple days ago, and I enjoyed it. It could've actually been better if it was a few eps longer, but given the plot, it makes sense. It's worth a watch. Not as great as Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo, but better than Space Dandy, imo. (All are Watanabe's work.). Unless there are multiple reviews sharing the same view, reviews aren't necessarily a good indicator. And even in that case, review bombing and pandering can make it skewed. Not to mention personal preference. I'd say watch an ep, and if you like it, watch it, lol
