Anime Relations: One Piece
I'm sure you all know the middle name that a few characters have in One Piece. "D." Luffy has it, Ace has it, whatever. It's a bit of a One Piece mystery what that initial really is, and Oda hasn't decided to reveal what it means just yet. We're all anticipating the chapter where Luffy finds out the truth, and his eyeballs explode from his head, then he finds the One Piece. But what if...what if I've already figured it out? Now hear me out. Brew a cup of coffee, sit down on your musty couch, this will take a while.

The first order of business, and the most important part to understanding this theory is the void in One Piece world history, and spoilerinos, the kingdom that existed in that 100 year period. All we know it by is 'Great Kingdom,' according to the One Piece fandom wiki. So let's dive into the wording of it. Great can mean vast, but it can also refer to overwhelming morality, endurance through time, and how it's subjects viewed it, aka not just in it's actual greatness, but also in it's national pride. I won't touch on all of these points, because they will become obvious once the conclusion is met.

Now...second order of business. Based on the fact it existed 800 years ago, and the fact it was a kingdom, we can assume it was a dynasty of sorts. Basically, a prince, or princess would be from the King, or Queen's family, and would succeed them when they are either unfit to rule from old age, from a sudden death, or it would be a determined date of however many years when their children, or grandchildren would take over the reigns of the kingdom.

Third order of business. The world government wouldn't allow those with a D. in their name to run free, if they knew what it meant. They would have already been assassinated by CP9, Buster Called like Ohara, or executed. The trust in the world government seems to be strong in the One Piece world, so they could've killed them all without most suspecting a thing. From this, we can assume the D. could be an abbreviation for a name that doesn't include the letter D. It seems like a bit of a stretch, but it will all become clear soon.

Now that we've laid the groundwork, we can reach a satisfying conclusion. It only makes sense from all we've established here, in these paragraphs, that the D. stands for Duck, and the kingdom was the once great Duck Dynasty show on American television network, A&E Networks, starring the Robertson family, and Luffy's true name is Monkey Robertson Luffy.
