Man ecchi got crapped on. For me it's any childhood anime or firsts anime you watched. For specific examples, I can't believe so many people still really like Pokémon and Dragon Ball (in general, but more specifically Z), I mean to each their own but, you know. Also, the so called big three. Good thing is those anime keep the worsts fanbases all to themselves. |

Personal preference is personal preference, so you do you. It affects no one else. That said, if I had to choose something, then most modern rom-coms are best to be left behind, as they are kind of sad (and not in a touching way) more than anything and I only see their scope being limited to those in lower secondary education (though, as an unpopular opinion, Teasing Master Takagi-san surpassed my expectations). |

ecchi, lolicon, and moe. Ecchi is becoming too ridiculous, I get turned off by lolicon (the pre-pubescent anime girl, I don't like those sexualization, can they be used for little children anime rather then fetish). Also moe, it's way overrated and I know Japan has a strong emphasis on cute/kawaii culture. But cute doesn't need to be moe, there are a lot of stuff that can look pretty cute by other mean. |

One Piece. 1000+ episodes is just a piss take. I mean how many times can you watch the same characters do the same shit? I mean I love Star Trek TNG but by the end of the final season if I had to watch another 27 episodes of my beloved crew dealing with another "mystery" by realiging the deflector array or resetting Data's positronic circuits...man, I woulda ate my own fist. And that was barely 150 episodes. Anyway, if One Piece goes on any longer people won't have to worry about out-growing it. They'll be dead before it finishes. It will out-grow them. What can I say. I like stories that have beginnings, middles and ends. Yah, yah. Burn me at the stake. How dare I speak about *the best* anime ever made this way! Don't I know it's pure art and the best thing since sliced bread and Smarties! For shame! Etc, etc, etc. |

"Should" is a wrong word. They can do it, but why the fuck should they. You watch whatever you enjoy, until you don't enjoy it anymore. It's like the mentality of "you should outgrow video games", like it's some children thing only. Bitch please, it's just a medium of entertainment like any other. |

Lol at all of answers that say ecchi, when op is named "IpreferEcchi". OT: ehhh... idk. I still like most of the anime that I watched when I was younger. I dont really think anyone needs to outgrow something per se, but to the people who mostly just watch shows from childhood I thinks it's fair to say that they could broaden their horizons. But that doesn't mean they "should" if they are enjoying themselves. |

It is the same thing over and over again, it started going downhill after the war and timeskip, it shouldnt have this many episodes. 300-400 would've been more than enough to tell the story without it repeating itself so much. |

The arcs are different in appearance but they are all pretty much the same. Nobody ever dies, Zoro gets lost, they all get separated and then reunited for the final battle with Luffy. (There's a lot more stuff to this "script" but I cannot recall all details. They are all very similar like the dramatic backstory with the new female or male character. Also most girl characters look similar bodywise, its very odd) Each island has a very similar gimmick and the story always follows the same pattern. It is a script that is repeated multiple times but with a different skin to it, to appear as if it were something different. Before the timeskip this script remained fresh since it was something new, however as time went on it really became more and more dull. When you get to dressrosa its already very tiring, most people give up there not only because of the terrible pacing but because it is really just the same thing over and over again. |

I'm talking about poor quality anime from a genre, vs. better quality anime of the same genre. When you're a teenager, you love the poor quality one because it's full of angst or shock value. But should outgrow it when you get older. (Many shounen are far superior to Akame ga Kill. Many ecchi are far superior to Highschool of the Dead.) |

The superficial, predicatable shonen stuff. It's all fine and dandy to like powerscaling and other cliches (you do you), but when it gets to a point where someone is being an elitist/refuses to watch other genres, I think it's time for a major perspective change. |
