THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well, it's a somewhat unique way for people to experience the aquarium sensation by bringing those sea creatures in small water tanks. It also allows them to be more movable than being in one spot. A smart idea imo.

Oh and there's sea crabs! Not the most unique sea creature but I do like how they're trying to cover as much as aquatic life in this show.

Gama Gama Aquarium has earned another event: makeshift a mobile aquarium clinic to be brought for a visit to the hospital, from the help of the tourism association manager Karin.

The head nurse that takes care of the whole event, Kinjo, she's like a grim reaper more than anything underneath because...BEWARE THE C-WORD (that's her Achilles' Heel). But otherwise, they're all good to go to bring the fish along...except that a crab got mixed in there for God knows what trouble it'll do...and Umi-yan, take care of your ailing back. OH SHIT, better find that stray xanthid crab before it pinces unsuspecting patients!

Umi-yan has this weird relationship with this wheelchair Airi Uehara. Blueberry girl Kukuru shows her fishy enthusiasm, love her passinoate energy wherever she goes. But the hospital has also received word that Gama Gama is about to be shut down, and Kukuru seems dispirited. Karin is doing the same for her efforts to revive Gama Gama Aquarium, but it's not helping much. To Umi-yan, the aquarium is his life because of Airi who's hospitalized in the hospital, and upholding a promise with her, but time ran out due to certain circumstances.

The crab got Fuuka bleeding good, and they have to conceal the crab issue from Kinjo while juggling with the hospitalized kids to give them a good feel for the fish as they would on-site. Umi-yan trying to make up to Airi about the promise...and the crab got to Kinjo giving her a good scare. Airi fearlessly took the crab off of Kinjo in Umi-yan's presence, graced her with gaffa rufa a.k.a doctor fish, and with another promise. I legit cried like a real man, what a heartwarming scene that is.

A give and take between the head nurse Kinjo's scary aftermath and the hospitalized kids for therapy, along with the crab issue, makes a win-win for all. So Karin actually wanted to be an aquarium attendant, but circumstances forced her to look else. A good experience this is one for all to learn, so stay steadfast Kukuru! Or Gama Gama Aquarium will be finished.

We're officially at the 1/3rd mark...and time to welcome a new training intern: Chiyu Haebaru.

The stray crab saved the day, and he/she hurt Fuuka tho that scene was pretty funny.
It was also nice to see the children having a nice day and learning a few things about marine life.
Everyone was working hard.

Its all going well and everyone is happy having a good time (well, except the crab-phobes), its nice to see that Gama Gama is helping all kinds of people, it would be real shame if ...

... the aquarium really did close its gates in the upcoming episodes, and i think it will .. the main gang all going their separate ways after. Then something will happen .. something that will bring them all together to save the aquarium (again), but not before the two maturity handbooks mystery is resolved.

Everyone is doing their best to keep the aquarium open.

That crab was amusing. In the end he/she was the hero of the day. :)

Kukuru didn't look too happy about the new girl in the preview. I can smell drama.

There is one imposter among us. That is our little crab. How on earth that someone really scares of little crab like that nurse.
I also noticed the gusokumushi plushies, Gamagama Aquarium should acquire some of them.
With the new incoming intern, I think there will be tension between Kukuru and this new intern for sure.

Hmm a travelling aquarium sure is a quirky idea. The head nurse though sure had quite the unusual fear of crabs though. It's nice to see Karin so on the ball though. Considering the amount of work that goes in maintaining the place it will be surprising if Kukuru and the others didn't get strong from it. The head nurse sure ended up having quite the trauma from that crab though. But at least Airi was able to rediscover her love of sealife. Not to mention Kukuru making peace with Karin. Overall a pretty fun ep that combined an excellent opportunity to see how Gama Gama can be used outside of its traditional audience via the travelling aquarium and some insight into both Karin's past and the core of Kukuru's determination.

Ok episode, it was nice to see the little girl touching the fish again. When she said she wasn't her old self because she was in a wheelchair I don't know, I felt terrible for her :c

Whoever was responsible for letting the crab sneak into the moving aquarium needs a good pat on their back. Thanks to the crab, it did play a pivotal part of the episode where Airi was able to rescue the head nurse after seeing the crab struck her phobia for the little critters. At least it got her to talk to Umi-Yan again and give him a cute, toothy grin. =D

Not just that, but the little one did give us the best comedy moments of the episode, which gave me plenty of laughs! XD

Once again, this underrated series gives us another satisfying episode and one where it was really nice for the Gama Gama crew to be able to show the hospitalised kids who couldn't go to the aquarium a chance to see some of the creatures up close and personal. Karin does deserve a lot of credit for making this happen and hearing her talk to Kukuru about her dream of becoming an aquarium assistant before choosing her job career elsewhere hit home pretty powerfully.

Either way, the post credit scene had Kukuru looking annoyed at the brand new intern. Since this episode did mention of a new aquarium being built in a different town (maybe the reason why Gama Gama is closing), I guess this new intern will run that new aquarium one day.

A traveling aquarium is a pretty neat idea for the ones who are not able to go on their own strength. So I really liked this episode for that cause alone. The crab did add a little bit extra spice to it. I honestly thought that when that crab climbed up the nurse, that she was gonna collapse right there and then. Glad to see that Airi, who wasn't very amused with the traveling aquarium being there, be able to take the crab off the nurse. Pretty heartwarming moment.

So this episode mentioned the build of a brand new aquarium in the center of town and the post credit scene shows a trainee for a different aquarium.. Yeah this is going to give some extra spice, that's for sure. I wonder in what way though, somehow I am also expecting jealousy to be part of the upcoming episodes with the new girl.

Episode didn't have much going for it plot or development wise, but I did like the idea of a traveling aquarium to the hospital to give kids stuck there something to enjoy for one day by playing with some marine life for a short bit. Gama Gama's director does strive to help promote the aquarium and have people enjoy those marine life creatures like her and create fun memories too for her customers as well.

someone told me the sister studio that did clannad is making this and if that's the case then we are in for a lot more tear jerker moments. I also love umi yan, most people in his position would go on leave and probably quit with a health problem like that, but he's so passionate about teaching he stays on. As someone with as someone with chronic pelvic pain that likes to work with heavy tech such as severs and the like I respect that passion.

it's not uncommon where I live there's an aquarium about an hour from me and they used to visit my school when I was a kid and would bring the penguins. I've also taken many a school trip there. If your ever in point pleasant New Jersey look up Jenkinsins aquarium it's small but it's a great time.

I like how Fuuka-chan decided to ride with Kukuru instead of hop in the car ac cabin. Funny moment for me, together with how the crab actually became and important matter for the plot and really used as the episode title xD.

Umi-yan and Karin-san had more story development this time, by using the Aquarium travelling idea, crab crisis (yeah, quite crisis for that poor nurse) , and the little girl issue with the fishes, and created such another nice episode as an overall. Thats good, very wholesome part when Airi decided to make another promise to Umi-yan, which made Kukuru believed that the aquarium still had a chance and can't let herself give up like what Karin-san and her dream did in the past. Quite naive, but well, i don't talk much about the future, so i am still liking the determination of the girl have at that time. That's it.

Hopefully there's nothing really dramatic happens all of sudden. Let it flow naturally and pace everything well structured. The next will be introducing more girl and Kukuru looks like not liking it. Why? I can't wait for the next episode ...

Another really great episode! That crab was a menace lmao, Nurse Kinjou's reactions to the "c-word" were really hilarious.

A travelling aquarium sounds cool as fuck and also very heartwarming for the kids who are stuck in the hospital. We have now found out Karin's dream as well. It's to become an aquarium attendant. Maybe if they can save Gama Gama, she still has a chance to be able to work there. That's why I hope Kukuru succeeds, so Karin can achieve her dream as well and maybe also inspire Fuuka achieve her dreams as well once Kukuru succeeds. Also, Fuuka's "crab!" before the middle part of the episode was super adorable.

Man, I am gonna fucking cry if Airi recovers from her illness and finds that Gama Gama is closed down, please no. New character introduced after the ED, she looks great obviously, but I wonder if she'll be a game changer for the aquarium. Really looking forward to the next episode.

So a travelling aquarium is the next idea to try and save Gama Gama from closure. Seems a fair bit more plausible than that shaved ice stand they did before, albeit probably lower-impact for that very reason. Some very strong sentimental value with Airi as well in an otherwise okay episode.

That crab sure caused some chaos didn't it? Looked real smug as it climbed the head nurse.

Meh episode

I wish they gave us more background/story on the wheelchair girl. Maybe I missed it, but there was no explanation as to what her condition is and why she was upset with Umiyan and why the crab encounter made her forgive? him. Just felt like there was no substance there.

And again, I wish they focused a little more on the two main characters' story. I know it's a 2 cour show, so they're taking their sweet time, but these one-off side-stories are getting a little tiresome.

I think there was no need to explain those things. And I dont see her as upset with Umiyan as being in that zone of discomfort when you cant face what have been revoked and what you cant comeback to in the near future. As someone who have behaved like that girl in the past, is just a sentiment against yourself more than against the other person that you are evading

Another average episode tbh This show is hard on predictability, but I guess the feelings are ok

When Airi-chan told Umi-yan that she doesn’t want to see the fishes again as it’s no longer the same that made me so sad.....

Umi-yan is so caring! I’m glad he helped Airi-chan open up again & made her happier.

Why are people hard pressed to know what happened to Airi/what’s her condition???? Is that really the point here????? Jesus talk about completely missing the point lol. The whole story is about how Gama Gama has affected the lives of many who visit & love to go there. It’s not just about Fuuka & Kukuru. It makes me a little sad seeing all the yuri-crazed folks just focusing only on that & not paying any attention to the subtleties & how beautiful the story really is. Their loss, I guess.

I really liked Kukuru's line at the end about being strong. The show kind of jumbled a little but to me it seemed like she was essentially saying this is all I have and it's not a matter of being strong. It's a strong sentiment but a dangerous world view for someone her age.
