my brother keeps on nagging me to watch one piece since you know, it's one piece. i like the fact that i haven't seen any of the big three, but i understand that people consider these series as their top favorites of all time. can y'all give me some reasons on why i should watch at least one of them? what got you into them in the first place?? |

yes, in fact i prefer anime strongly because it doesnt have as long series on average people nowadays dont have patience for these.. big 3 are a thing of the 00s i might read one piece.. but certainly not watch literally 1000+ episodes |

I like that we still call it 'The Big 3' but like... lol Bleach tho...... I started One Piece not too long ago (at ep 115) and honestly it's not as good/I'm not as invested as I was with Hunter x Hunter by this point. Like it's good, but it's not phenomenal. And it's kinda dragging where I'm at rn... Fuck the dead 3. Watch HxH. Or you know what, watch Aikatsu! LOL |

its not that i refuse to i just currently want to enjoy some shorter series' since i dont have the focus/attention span for long ones atm and i wouldnt want to put them on hold because id definitely forget a lot of the lore lol and maybe some people dont watch it because they know its good? so they dont have that much excitement/desire to watch it |

I’m on like episode 180 or so for Naruto Shippuden and 258 for Bleach but I take forever to watch a single episode so I honestly might drop them soon, as for One Piece no way in hell am I starting that it also doesn’t help I despise battle shounen so I don’t even see the fun in watching 900+ episodes of one |

Honestly I don't have a good selling point to watch the big three for me I didn't like Naruto, dropped One Piece and I have no desire to watch Bleach. There are way better Shounen than the big three. The other Shounen are too long and a lot of the episodes waste your time to fill space and I'm not talking about the massive amounts of fillers. |

Second that. One Piece is one of the few anime that I really look forward to watching. As with any big task in life break it down into smaller more manageable chunks. Each arc is anywhere between 50-150 episodes long. Tackle them one at a time, and take your time, as One Piece isnt finishing anytime soon. The other thing to bear in mind is the first 5-6 minutes of each episode is the opening music and a recap. So you can cut out a quarter of it that way. Re: Naruto & Bleach, they are mediocre overall, but they are good in patches - you can be rather more selective, for a start both have tons of filler (skip them). Both have good piano based soundtracks though, especially Bleach. The Soul Society arc of bleach is up there with the best of any battle shounen. |

been waching naruto since i was a kid guess thats how i was able to finish those 10000000 filler eps. As for One piece its interesting but not interesting enough to binge 900 episodes so i just watch when i want to pass time. |

There was a time when I thought that One Piece was the greatest thing ever but I kinda grew out of it. Maybe I'm one of the few insane people who read 1000 chapters and watched 900 episodes just to drop it. |

I haven't watched/read One Piece yet either (I will someday). I did watch and read Bleach, I watched the OG Naruto and will start Shippuuden soon-ish. They're not my favourite shows by a long shot and I watched them just because you kind of have to as an anime watcher. Some shows are pretty iconic and were the first of their genre (Ashita no Joe is one of the first, if not the first, manga and anime about boxing, first airing in 1970). Other shows inspire and change manga and anime in a big way, Dragonball for example. Oftentimes these shows are nostalgic for many people and they grew up with them. I grew up with Dragonball Z, but it's definitely not the best show I've ever seen. I could not watch it again if I had to. I prefer the manga over the show any day. |

yes, but i also dropped all three bleach, filler and pacing one peice, PACING and how slow it takes for the action to do anything. might get back to it with one pace naurto, the writings a mess. |

I don't get how Bleach was even a part of Big 3. The story is so predictable and bland (especially after soul society arc). With Naruto, even though the quality declines after Pain arc, I can still understand it's popularity coz of all the plot twists and some other good scenes. But, in Bleach, almost everything that happens after Soul Society can be seen from a mile away. |

Haven't seen any of the big three. Probably not gonna watch it, cuz as many have said, i'll have to commit A Lot of my time to them. Why spend 1000 eps on a single show, with fillers at that, when you can watch 42 cours of different shows, or finish all of Gintama, Hunter x Hunter, and Universal Century with more to spare for the same amount of time spent? Might read them instead though, especially One Piece. |

I watched (still watching OP) them because i started at an early time. I think they are good even when I'm not that big into shounen. Still I'm happy to know them because everyone of them has something rly good to it and it defined a part of my life. (Took part in RP-sites and to know them helped a lot with own ideas for it). Also i still like to watch specific reactions of parts in those shows. |

I know one piece since my childhood but comeback when people in RL always tell me how rich one piece is, then last years since coronna issue that made us keep home for certain long time can make binge watching it until hundreds eps for around 1 month Same story with naruto i followed up until manga sadly i cant feel how naruto become hokage in anime coz with read manga make u ignore anime coz u already know what will be happen later. So no wonder if i dont want read manga coz with read manga u can miss how atmosphere, song, voice, situation thats going on |

The Big 3 were my gateway anime in the early to mid 2000s. They were my favorite shows on Toonami as a kid next to DBZ. One Piece at the time was unfortunately the 4Kids version, but I still have fond memories of it. Naruto was the one that hooked me and made me wanna find out what these weird cartoons were. Bleach aired not long after. As lame as it sounds, they'll forever hold a place in my heart. I guess it's understandable why many people today wouldn't wanna watch some "old" long ass shounens now. Maybe just keep in mind that the Big 3 had a huge part in shaping and raising the western anime community in the 2000s. That's why the name was coined. Without them, things would've been different. So, yeah, I think it's kind of a shame that newer generation of fans look down on them without having any knowledge. Clearly I'm very biased, but whatever. |

I've never watched a single episode of Bleach or One Piece, simply because they're waaayyy too long for my taste. You should not watch the anime of any of them. Naruto and Bleach is full of filler and the one piece anime is the slowest show on the planet. You should definitively read the one piece manga though. The world-building is unmatched in any piece of fiction. The characters are great, it is really funny, it has really good emotional moments and art i also great. It`s a big commitment but i say it`s without a doubt worth it. It also does not take 400 hours like it does with the anime. It takes about 100 hours if you are a decently fast reader. |

I've seen the big 3. Naruto and One Piece are part of my childhood. But I've watched Bleach last year just for the sake of having watched the big 3. And honestly? It wasn't necessary. I was more fighting my way through it rather than enjoying it. The big 3 were the big 10 years ago. It's not necessary to watch them now (not saying it was necessary back then). If you enjoy anime, that's all that matters. I highly recommend the One Piece manga though! |
