| I don't know and I don't think watching or not watching would make a difference, cause as you have some anime, which require to focus and have some complex thoughts on plot/science etc. You can as well find a literature/movies/tv shows/ docummentaries/archives about the same topics, so as long as you follow other stuff related to the similar complex. As long as you compare someone who doesn't follow any stuff related to being smart/intelligent to someone who has watched some complex anime stuff, than yeah you would be right, but otherwise I don't think it would be a big difference. |

| I think it depends what anime genre you are refering to. The average shounen fan is pretty average to low iq generally. Mystery and supernatural anime fans are probably above average to high. Mecha genre also generally attracts high iq individuals if I had to take a guess. Certain anime like Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiments Lain, Mawaru Penguindrum, and Tatami Galaxy are difficult to enjoy if you do not give them any thought for interpretation. |

| I could see it going either way. Anime fans are more likely to be nerdy introverts who statistically speaking on average do have higher IQs. But if you're a loser who wastes your time watching TV rather than studying to do well in school or working to move up in your job your mind determinates and your IQ actually gets lower over time (and there certainly are a lot of anime fans who spend way too much time watching anime me included lol but I primarily watch it while working out so hopefully it doesn't count as wasted time). |
