Yup, Salinger is free and isn't no pushover. Seems he also have a superiority complex.

Gotta give some credit to Klass for being brave this episode despite how scared she got. Rin challenging Salinger seems like a mismatch as there's an obvious power gap between them. I'm pretty sure Salinger is just toying with Rin and isn't really serious at all in their fight.

Loved the little moment of vulnerability between Alice and Iska before she headed to the prison. That was really sweet, then the moment when Iska realised she’s left him the key.

With how mismis acts sometimes, I really wonder how she became a captain lol. She’s adorable, but she relies a lot on her subordinates to get her out of situations.

Next week’s lining up to be pretty damn exciting with Iska v Salinger. Can’t wait.

Edit: With Iska saving her, wouldn’t surprise me if Rin joins the harem.

Salinger is no joke, definitely worthy of that demon title. Nice bounce this week back after a frustrating last episode. Some moments I liked with Jhin, Nene, and Mismis all working their way through that prison. Mismis was a good distraction. Alice doing the right thing, finally, was surprising. I thought that Iska would have to bust out of his make shift prison alk himself. Glad that she came around letting Iska go in that crisis. With him returning that favor by saving Rin at the end of the episode. Something else I didn't expect, thought it would be Alice saving Rin. Makes me wonder where Alice went after rallying those guards. But anyways a really cool scene with Iska jumping in with his swords to stop Salinger. Should be a good battle between two very powerful opponents. Hope we see Alice and Iska team up again here. Salinger is demented enough to require them both facing him.

Alice gave the key to Iska, it's cute to be honest xD now the situation is very tense with Rin's fight but thanks to Iska she's very probably going to be saved, and she will learn to like him more I guess

Salinger the Transcendent Demon, used for the Empire's gain against the Sovereignity for old-time's revenge sake, well if you can call THAT a plan, and Risya sure is the double-edged sword of catalyst.

Even though Alice may be a shell of her former self a.k.a her mother the former Queen, she facing up against a superior-fest Demon is no mean feat. Regardless, she really gives Iska the time of day to consider their relationship and provide him the sole way out without the bothersome Rin around.

Captain Mismis FINALLY being useful for once, even for bait? NOW THAT'S EFFORT, and lucky that Nene and Jhin were there to back her up for the rescue mission of Iska.

When it came time to battle against the purebred Salinger, even Iska wants a piece of the action due to the "promise" kept with Alice (how brain-dead is he, the rabbit hole sure goes deep). But as-is with the "Hero" status, Iska steps in when Rin was at her worst in the most "accurate" timing.

Not gonna lie, this formula just repeats today's episode of Noblesse with Salinger being Frankenstein, close but definitely not similar.

There's some decent insert music used provocatively, and I don't know...that is probably used to solidify the Romeo X Juliet feeling (of which I'm not feeling at all). Overall, another average episode...like how decent or mediocre can this really get...

Great episode as always, my favorite moment was Alice and Iska's interaction. Het telling her a secret about Salinger and how she attacked the queen and then having that cute "oh but please don't let Rin know" face only to realize that Rin was listening to everything lol.

And then seeing her having a vulnerable moment, "Will you help me if I ask?" and then the handkerchief scene, that was so adorable and soothing. And then Iska realizing that she left the key there, realizing that she DOES want him to help her.

Finally seeing someone badass from the Imperial side, which is Salinger (btw am I the only one who feels like it's a Sword or some weapons name rather than being a persons name?)
I wonder if Risie did set them up or was she really not aware that Iska wasn't there?

Rin surely showed Salinger her fangs, I actually really like her and her fighting style, it really suits her. I'm a really big fan of golems as well...

Now, for the things I didn't like...

  • Why did Mismis-captain decide it'd be a good idea to show her face in front of heavily armed guards????? And why didn't they shoot her as she literally was running away from them with her back turned on them.
  • How the hell did they escape? First it makes no sense, second it's undermining them calling Iska, asking him to come and save them. Third, it's just not realistic to break free from the prison and leave unscathed, and they didn't show their escape either. Fourth reason, we were stripped of a very serious, nailbiting and very interesting scenario where Iska would come to save them and they would really be in a pinch, something straight from some of the most popular shonens like One piece or Fairy tail.
  • Disappointed about Salinger's "escape" they really went for an explosive way of doing it. Screw the planning and strategy that comes with escaping the prison. He literally broke through with brute force and what's worse, he isn't even acting like an escape... Seriously... why the hell is he still there? Why isn't he running away.
  • Why was he treated as a king in the prison, having such king-like accomadations?

Still a great episode, the last 2 complaints is something I'd wish would be different, but I'll still accept them. First 2 however... made no sense.

Also, enjoyed that background info on Salinger and the queen, I wonder if they had a similar relationship to what Iska and Alice are having?

The moment between Iska and Alice are cute as always.
Iska saves the day again. His battle with Salinger will be epic, and Alice will join the battle for sure. It also might make Rin accept in Iska more than before.

I still wonder how Mimis be the team captain, maybe she's the one willing to do boring paperwork or attend the meeting so she got that job. But, at least in this episode she, somehow, useful by being a bait. I hope that she will act like a real captain in the future especially when she got the astral magic power. Or I will wonder about how useful of her until the final episode.

Let us all take a moment to appreciate Salinger's set of abs. The man is ripped. No fanservice show would be complete without it.

The exposition dialogue feels as stiff and artificial as always.

The music choice for the big fight scene was pretty solid. I think they have used the same song earlier too.

It is super-generous of Iska to help out against Salinger even though he was kidnapped earlier. Well, maybe he secretly likes being kidnapped. I don't know.

Overall, it was better than some of the earlier episodes, at least.

Great episode this week.

I loved the part where Alice tried to ask Iska for help but he didn't realize what he was being asked. Though, the part where he realizes that Alice left the key for him and what he was asked for was great. Very cute and intimate too.

Very strong insert song usage, made a ton of those intimate moments even better.

I'm hoping Alice joins the battle with Iska against Salinger.

Mismis acting as bait shows that she can be reliable at times tho that was a risky gamble.

Salinger vs Iska, and possibly Alice, is something I'm looking forward to.

OK another week and wow some insert music. Risya broke Salinger free and is out for chaos and Mismis finally useful (for once YES). That Rin fight with Salinger was ok although her speaking was a bit overboard for me. And because of PLOT, Iska is out to save Alice and fights on Salinger.

But wait is Risya an enemy or is it just a misunderstanding, what the hell? Is she really a traitor, if it is that's kinda bad.

Well, Alice gave Iska the key to the cuffs with the handkerchief he once gave her.

Mismis is still annoying as usual. She did something though so props to her. Congrats to the 14 people favourited her, you are weird.

The battle with Saliner against Iska is something I look forward...hope it doesn't disappoint me.

Guess even the Nebulis has their own criminals thats too dangerous to let out. Salinger the demon huh. Certainly the power that he has will be a vital asset to the empire but only if he's willing to help them. Mismis and the team sure ended up being sandwiched in the middle. While Mismis's plan was a risky one im glad that Jhin and Nene managed to strike in time. Alice though really is too kind for her own good lol. Salinger though is quite the curious figure he's ambitious but he's also a collector of astral spirits as well too. Though Rin tried her best Salinger was just too overwhelming of an opponent for her. But Iska showing up to save her was probably the last thing she expected. Overall a decent ep that while managing to allow Iska and his squad to meet up also did well to showcase Salinger both in terms of abilities and motivations as a individual. Honestly im surprised that Risya didn't sacrifice Mimis's squad in the process. Looking forward to seeing how this fight plays out next week.

Ngl, the end of the episode was kinda hype. Salinger giving me the Muzan vibes.

And Captain trying to appear threatening didn't work so well, lol. I would probably feel the sudden urge to give her a hug.

Why and how is such a credulous, imperceptive, and unsure girl like Mismis, who constantly needs to be told what to do, an officer in the army? How are you trying to sell the idea of a ruthless imperial army by showing me a obviously incompetent officer who's clearly just there to be cute?

Cant say I wouldn't of minded the bigoted maid meeting her demise but all good stories need a radical left wing view point these days else the story be branded radical right. I'm pretty sure she has good intentions but after MC stepping in to save her I do wonder what she is going to do for future job now she is pretty much redundant after going against her employers wishes and then fail whaling against main enemy and being rescued by the person she drugged and kidnapped!

I 100% believe this may have been the best episode of this series so far. This show is definitely full of many troupes but I dont think that makes it bad. It has had some really nice moments for sure. I wish they had more action up to this point but I havent hated the show for sure. I must give credit to Rin's voice actor this episode. They did really well in the confrontation with sallenger. Very well done. I hope that the animation for the next episode will be good

Okay, its time for battle action again! Iska versus Salinger, and might be get any help from Alice in the next episode. Interesting direction, after a calm and funny tone that happened in the previous episode. At this episode too, Mismis became useful as a captain, for once! Good captain always put up the safety of their subordinates first, i think Mismis had a great knowledge to be a better captain. A nice development over her typical useless antic!

And where was Risya? I thought she might've help those Astral Mage until he got out from those province. But, well, it seemed she still couldn't control him in her hands much, and letting him under a rampage. But, it might be a wrong decision, and seeing how Iska destroying her plan was no good, or she just let it be and captured the moment? Well, those woman still had so many mystery on her agenda. So, i might be patience, and see the next episode that may answer my question. However, for now, beat those demon, Iska. How dare he hurt the best maid on these season!

Risya sure messed up the plans to set Iska free. Not only were they in the wrong building, she even helped a guy reffered to as a "demon" set free...

A bit more bonding for Alice x Iska just before she headed for the prison. Sneaky Alice giving Iska the key to escape that hotel.

Iska just in time saving Rin, good lad. I like Rin! Hopefully we'll have a great fight next week!!

I really really like the relationship development between Alice and Iska. Its good.

I absolutely enjoy this show; its so good that even Mismis can't ruin it for me although she tries her hardest to do just that.

Mismis is officially useless: she's the leader of their combat unit and she breaks down and bawls her eyes out in the middle of a firefight. And wears heels on a combat op. And right after her squad mates caution her to keep her voice down, because enemy security patrols are all over the place, she squeals at the top of her voice in outrage. The only thing she has ever thought with is her feelings.

None of this would be much of a problem for me except that Mismis is supposed to be their Captain. Its obvious that the writers really don't care about what that implies for the character.

Esp. the prison part.

Hope to see a good fight next episode.

I feel like it would've been better if they used Tomokazu Seki for Salinger instead of Toshihiko Seki for more of that Gilgamesh vibes hahaha.

Salinger's cell shattered. Is that Risya's power? Salinger is OP because of the astral spirits that he stole. He's basically like an avatar. lol

Alice secretly gave the key to Iska. And Iska fighting Salinger means he accepted Alice's request to help her. Cute.

Great episode man, love Alice.

Damn, either Risya was the one who broke the cell or Salinger could have escaped anytime he wanted lmao. Captain mismis finally did some physical assistance as b a i t.

I really liked the insert song in the Alice and Iska scenes, that was definitely Sora Amamiya singing. Hopefully Iska saving Rin changes Rin's opinion of Iska a bit. Looking forward to the next episode, let's go Salinger vs Iska or even better Salinger vs Iska and Alice.

I feel like this has been asked before, but how in the world did Mismis ever get the rank of Captain when she's been useless for the entire series up until this point?

ahh it was a ridiculous part.So was this Salinger not running just because he didn't want his life?If he could cut the walls like paper, how did it stand there all these years?Maybe Risya closed the security, but it was really ridiculous to do it just for action without showing anything. You have not put even 1 guard on the door of someone so dangerous.Come on, I got past him you had to wear a clamp that suppresses his forces, it's really bad

Have to admit the handkerchief scene was very sweet, but where the hell did Alice go when her personal maid was in such great danger? I guess it's very convenient for the plot to have Iska save her ass, huh? Anyway, that Salinger dude is literally the incarnation of every other demon lord who is not a MC from any other isekai.
