THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Nice, now they got electricity on their side thanks to the creativeness of science.

Gen Asagiri is in a strange position this episode after he got attacked by a mysterious individual though. Kohaku is still awesome to watch as usual. What a legit gorilla badass.

I luv it i luv it i luv tis eps so much they directed it perfectly everything fitted together like a perfect jigsaw puzzle instead of making Gen run away after just one night which is unlikely considering the severity of his injury, they made it so he had 2 days to recover first. Seeing Magma punching the living daylights out of Gen and hearing each fist meeting flesh is so much more painful than I felt when reading this scene in the manga. Gen... :(( hopefully no one calls him a backstabbing traitor again after this episode.

Also we see a glimpse of Ukyo and Nikki! Can't wait to hear their voices! Really like the soundtracks used in this eps, especially in the beginning and in Chrome's flashback with Ruri.

I do have one issue with this eps. Why did Magma say something so offensive regarding the priestess so loudly? If Kohaku can hear him, then the guys next to her should be able to hear him too. Is he not afraid to get in trouble for that? Or are the villagers allowed to talk about planning the priestess's death without getting in trouble?

Senku-chan, you weren't listening before, eh? Why I didn't see any mentioning of Nikola Tesla? ;-))

Cool episode. Village Games were announced and Gen joined the Kingdom of Science.

Who would've thought that a bottle of cola had such power to change fate of not only one, but several people.

All that, for a bottle of cola! Gen knows what to prioritize in this stone world.
I checked out the manga of this ep and it seems like they added some scenes, like the one where Senku stops Kohaku and ends up getting on top of him, I see what you be tryin to do anime ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

Yet again a solid episode!

Gen was just a simple man after all because all he wanted was a bottle of cola. So I'm guessing the Village Games are going to be some kind of tournament arc. Meanwhile Tsukasa has his own personal army because it looks like revived the strong individuals. Kohaku continues to be the best girl in this series.

Wait, so why did Gen like seem all surprised and confused when he came out of the petrification as if everything had just happened in a flash for him? I thought Senku had already made it quite clear that everyone is conscious during the petrification and thus literally awake for several thousand years leading up to this?

The cola part was also hella random but otherwise a pretty decent episode again

Lol Gen got me there for a moment. Well, it would be a waste if he kicked the bucket after one episode. A bottle of cola was enough to make him convert though wtf lol I have mad respect from Chrome this week as well. He's fine with not marrying the girl he likes as long as he can cure her. That Magma guy is a total idiot. The moment he expressed his thoughts out loud then he should have been punished for being disrespectful to the village's priestess... but they just let it go with him losing the tournament by Kohaku. That was my only pet peeve with this episode.

I think it was explained that not all petrified people were conscious, thus they couldn't be revived with just Nitric acid. Just Nitric acid was enough for people who were conscious like Senku and big oaf.

They changed a little the order of the events but it's ok I guess. They also added some fanservice like Kohaku and Ruri on Ginrou's thoughts and Kohaku falling over Senku. Honestly I'm not enjoying some things with this adaptation but as I love the manga, the story is nice in the end.

They didn't showed this funny part of Senku and Chrome laughing about Gen also

Because their consciousness can slip away if they dont keep a firm grasp on it and when it does they'll fall "asleep". Like Yuzuriha. Only monsters like Senku and Taiju can be conscious for 3700 years. Even Senku said he almost lost consciousness while counting.

Kohaku at 15.22 looks hot. Possibly the sexiest character in animedom. They really did well with her face.

There are many reasons, but here are some. You know why big eyes are attractive? Because as children, and as young, we have bigger eyes in proportion to the face than as adults. The face grows, but the eyes don't. And why are high cheekbones attractive? Because they make the face look less elongated. Again, the face grows elongated with old age. A less elongated face looks younger.

Likewise, a small nose, small ears and a not so big chin are attractive as these also grow bigger with age.

So, these signs of a young face signal health and good child-rearing capabilities. We are instinctively drawn to this in a mate. As those who had this instinct would have more offspring, having chosen - when given the chance - a mate with qualities that improve the chances that the offspring would survive.

Likewise, the ideal waist-to-hip ratio is considered ideal for a reason - it gives the best chance for a woman to carry a pregnancy to fruition. (While obesity leads to more miscarriages, and makes a person weaker and more prone to disease, thus is instinctively seen as less attractive.) Even men blind from birth consider this waist-to-hip ratio the most attractive, so there goes the feminist argument that we are only taught to appreciate this. (If it was just taught "to sell diet cures and makeup", why wouldn't we be taught to consider obesity to be more attractive? The food industry has way more money to mold people's minds with, if our view of what is attractive would be so easily molded.)

Now, Kohaku doesn't have that perfect waist-to-hip ratio, not completely, but she is slim, still beneficial. But it's the face that is the most successful. And blond hair signals health, as the hair darkens with old age. (Until it turns white from even older age, of course - so neither black nor white hair are considered more attractive than blond hair.)

Kohaku's eyes are somewhat cat-like, which is also attractive. For the rather complicated reason that cats remind us of a slim, youthful woman's graceful movements. It is not just in their movements, though - a cat's eyes are large, which is a feminine and youthful trait, and they are far down in the face. (Compare with dogs.) The eyes are farther down in the face when we are young, so this is a sign of youth.

That is why when you want to look cute, you instinctively lower your face, as it makes the eyes appear farther down. While if you want to look superior, you instinctively raise your chin, as the eyes then appear to be higher up, a sign of old age. Kohaku's eyes are comparatively far down in her face.

There are many factors to consider, and manga and anime consider these in general for female characters. But here they have done an unusually good job, I would say.

This propaganda again. Hollywood bosses have done their best maligning Edison, even making him the villain in movies like Tomorrowland with George Clooney, where he betrays other scientists, and in The Prestige, where "his goons" comes to steal an invention.

They instead lift up Nicola Tesla, as he was a Balkan immigrant. And you buy it, as every leftist is duty-bound to do. Thomas Edison made the world's first system for giving sustained power to a light bulb, which was genius. But keep believing propaganda.

Hollywood attacks Edison because he invented the motion picture camera, the foundation for television. A group of Jewish criminals in Chicago stole his invention and used it to make money by showing crude, vulgar clips to the illiterate workers in the docks. Edison got no help from the authorities. He hired men to take back the invention, but the thieves hired Jewish gangsters, who stood on the roof of the warehouse firing at Edison's men.

They then fled to California where Chicago's laws couldn't reach them, and that is why the movie industry was placed in Hollywood, instead of the more logical place, the east coast where investors and technology were concentrated.

And after that they have done their best to make Americans turn against America's greatest inventor, one of the greatest inventors of all time. A man who aside from the light bulb's system and the motion picture camera also invented the quadruplex telegraph that could send two transmissions in two directions at the same time, and much more. His phonograph would bring music to the troops in World War I.

1,093 patents in his lifetime. Thomas Edison was the greatest inventor of all time.

He invented the carbon transmitter for telephones, which before that used magnets, which produced weak currents. He designed a system of conductors, meters, lamp fixtures, sockets, fuses and current-switches for delivering electricity. He improved the design of power generators. He invented the alkaline storage battery.

While there was a light bulb already, he improved it and its system so it could be used worldwide. There is no end to the inventions and improvements he came up with.

During World War I, Edison headed the Naval Consulting Board, examining inventions for military use. He worked on several projects, including submarine detectors and gun-location techniques. But due to his moral indignation toward violence he would only work on defensive weapons. "I am proud of the fact that I never invented weapons to kill," he said after the war.

Later in life he worked on projects to develop electric trains and trying to find a domestic source for natural rubber. This was in his 80s - he would die at the age of 84, working until then. He was born poor but died one of the most famous men in the world.

Yet ignorant millenials sneer at him. Just like those who have recently started taking down the pictures of Nobel Prize winners from university walls because "they are almost all White men!" Millenials all deserve to be shipped to Africa where they can live in kumbayah-style peace.

Okay let do this one last time.
-Spider Men, 2018

Episode 1 hinted via Senku staying conscious that's because he kept his brain busy doing stuff (even tho he was tempted to faint every 800 000 seconds) that kept him from losting his conscious resulting in his brain consuming energy from the stone, weakening it so making it easy to Nitric Acid to easily react to the stone to depetrifie him.

Corelating with Taiju also getting easily depetrified by Nitric Acid even though it actually took days.

The reason they needed Stronger acid was because most other people most likely fainted during the petrification process making their stone molecules (or whatever) remain strong.

Conclusion: THE SHOW NEVER STATED THAT THOSE FROZEN PEOPLE REMAIN CONSCIOUS ALL THAT TIME, AND YOU JUST DIDN'T PAY ENOUGH ATTENTION TO THE SHOW.

I really thought that Magma did kill Gen, but it turned out that Gen had planned for something like that well in advance. He's still a shady character, but seeing him getting brutally hurt like that did make me feel sorry for him.

Thanks to Senku and his Science group, Gen was well enough to make it back to Tsukasa, whose empire is already looking intimidating with the angry glares from his followers. Gen was successful in lying to Tsukasa about Senku's "death", so Gen's now free to join with Senku. You better make a damn good bottle of cola, Senku! =D
