Another great episode. I'm loving the girls more and more with each episode.
Gus seems like a really cool guy, I like him.
Ertegun is freaking hot lol but MAN he's so full of himself. Although he strikes me as the kind of character who's not "actually bad" and would redeem himself afterwards. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Loved that final scene, I did not expect that from Tuesday at all!

I know that the writers will pull some asspull miracle and turn Gus into the best manager on Mars, but while they were running away from the Narcissist's estate I just couldn't help but wish he would keel over with with a heart attack. He is every bit an egotist as the Narcissist, but at least the Narcissist isn't a has-been (or never-was) drunken sod. As it is now, agreeing to have Gus be their manager looks like a really stupid mistake.

There's something so f(redacted)g god damn familiar about Ertegun's inner part of the building, I just can't tell what is it...Farscape? SG1?

Never thought Tuesday could be that spontaneous, she's really fun!! But that Ertegun deserved it though.

Love the girls and their heartwarming friendship.

It's revealed that humanity moved to Mars 50 years ago. Carole, Tuesday, Gus and Roddy had a meeting, establishing Gus as their manager and Roddy got them a meeting with Ertegun. Tuesday's family is silently looking for her due to the elections. Carole and Tuesday went to do laundry, inspiration got them and started a beat, ending singing a song, later, they wrote it and tested it. Angela had another meeting with Tao to test her vocal range, she's not satisfied with him. Carole and Tuesday went to the meeting with Ertegun, but after knowing that they wrote it, he rejected them without listen to it, Tuesday burned out the sheet music with the lyrics, activating the fire alarm.

Bautiful again, it was a good episode. The laundry scene was beautiful, good start, music, movements and results. Angela's test are freaking ugly, not surprised by her reaction. This doesn't do another thing than establish that the modern music is electronic and everything similar, obviously Ertegun has cero interest in exploring another genre, but what a guy, he's really confident about his success.

Why does the recording of the guy entering Angela's apartment and asking about her info remind me of the start of a porno?

Another new song. Seems like the sequel to Lonely Girls.

So the plan to collab with Ertegun failed. Tuesday is so daring. Ertegun had it coming lol.

I think that the sequel to lonely girls will be very special and sound similar to the lonely girls so the laundry song isn't a candidate to be the sequel because it is an upbeat song while lonely girls is a slow ballad type of song.
Well, the lyrics somewhat sounded like a continuation of Lonely Girls.

The amount of Western pop culture references in this show is crazy. Never thought I'd see Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, or Banksy's shredded painting in an anime.

Stealth Photography! Sue him! Get much money!

No negative PR for our future president huh. Welp, that means Tuesday is gonna screw something up...

Bruno who? Justin who? Literally who? After 50 years...oh boy, just like how our generation today will not know who Madonna is...

"If you want your songs to reach the ends of the galaxy..." Yeah...

Seats in front of washing machines...is that practical?

Oi! There's a guy sitting between you two! Show some common courtesy!

Hmm...considering that songs are made with AI, it seems that there is no need for voice lessons in Alba city...

"Let's get started."
*Disrobes* YES!

"Were you hoping to sleep your way up?" Ok, Ertegun has just labeled himself as an asshole...

"I don't need to listen to it. I'm Ertegun." Alright, he got me. That's a lol moment.

And Ertegun spreads his popularity further with the local firemen...

Carole and Tuesday need some sponsors, but they got nothing. Guess they're going to have to rely on their own skill to get attention. Cutting-edge AI he says. Let's not forget that music started off with logs, rocks, and grunts!

They sure made a mess to that DJ Ertegun property! lolz
I wonder if he's gonna be involved with these 2 girls...three ways gonna happen, he's gonna stay neutral (dun't care) or either help these girls or the least route (against these girls)

Let’s start... Fire?
Tuesday was lit burning all those papers. She seemed to be in some kind of trans. Psychological trauma maybe? She is showing herself as more and more of a rebellious kid.
I like how relationships develop between two girls. That’s definitely a strong unique friendship. Might actually develop in a romance too, the laundry song seemed to be quite intimate. Oh yeah, that song! The music was amazing as usual, but lyrics gave me a giggle, those were funny.
I’m interested in the Angela’s story and this stalker guy is fascinating too! Ertegun is an asshole, he might become a problem later on, or opposite, change his mind about the girls. Damn, I’m envolved. Although I felt like this episode was weaker than 2 first ones, I hope it’s a build-up for something bigger.
Also, it says on the character pages that they are inspired by Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Adele, and yet they don’t know Beatles nor Bruno Mars? Justin Bieber? Uhh, ok?

A decent episode. I feel like the tapping and then transitioning to friendship bonding montage song is cute in its own right, but I don't really think it was that necessary overall.

The references are strong with this one...

Seeing Carole in that disturb state is definitely something. I do feel bad for her since that jerk of a DJ basically talk her down like that made her pretty much terrible inside.

This show hasn't blew me away yet. I'll still watch it but I hope it will soon.

Another sweet episode. It was a blast. :)

The more I see Gus the more I like him. He's so self-absorbed I guess? But not in the narcissistic way Ertegun is! He forces his way into homes, he picks bar fights, he gets his foot in the door anyway he can. But, he's likable while he does it, at least to me. I suppose somehow deep down he feels good natured. I loved his one line when being held back by the guards, "Just go on ahead! I'll be right behind you!". Notably I think he showed he's not actually an amazing manager in this day and age but he has some good connections and a really good attitude!

Angela showed more of her two faced personality. Her face as a star and her actual face nicely contrasted with that horribly fake room tour cutting to her seeing Tao. It's like, she tries to force the world to fit her, firing everyone she doesn't like, always calling for attention, being demanding and all of that but Tao is very stubborn and unbendable making her fit his songs. It's kinda flipping the way she lives around. Despite Tao's practices not being the greatest, maybe being so insignificant to her manager will teach her some life lessons. We also saw that she's living out mama's dream rather than her own, that she's likely pushed into this lifestyle more than it being her choice at all.

It seems both of our main groups, Angela and Tao, and Carole, Tuesday and Gus tried to get the stars some vocal training and both went in a weird direction. I'm thinking Gus completely sent them to the wrong place, it was probably somewhere from his golden days that he was thinking of. And Angela was scared with the threat of torture to force the results Tao wants. Jeez!

I don't wanna mention everything this episode but I kinda have to. I loved the first scene, especially how easily swayed Tuesday was to take the food offer after Carole challenged it. I take it Tuesday could easily be manipulated going forward, or maybe she's just easily sociable like this. Hehehe. And the laundry song was pretty adorable. I loved how the dude in the middle of them joined in as cheesy as it was. It was a cute way to start a new song!

Lastly, the Ertegun scene. He is one jerk, wow. The narcissistic greedy businessman embodied, forgetting his meetings, talking down to everyone, treating himself like a god! However, I think he's going to be coming back for sure, especially after that impression Tuesday left him with. Speaking on why she burned the pages, at first I thought it may be out of anger but even she didn't know what came over her. Definitely some foreshadowing going on there. Hmmm.

The episode flew by for me, genuinely was caught off guard when the credits rolled so it must be doing something very right. Had alot of chuckles from this episode and think the dynamic they are now setting up with gus and roddy joining them as a 4 person crew is great.

That said, the laundry scene was equal parts charming as it was cringe, that song was alot more tolerable than the previous song though even if the lyrics were garbage. I've kind of just accepted that the music of this show isnt really gonna be all that good especially considering its actively going out of its way to imitate the style and lyrical content of pop songs which are usually filled with shallow lyrics and repetitive melodies, at the very least the stuff so far isnt as painful as a billboard top 100 pop song of today. The music in the show isnt bad, its just tolerable.

If anything that kind of leads me to what i think the real big issue with the show is, the soundtrack outside of the musical performances feels really bland, granted its pretty sparse in its use but its still weird to be watching a watanabe show, one focused on music at that, that seems to have such an underwhelming ost. I dont wanna be that guy but this feels like a series that yoko kanno would have improved tenfold.

The good things so far:
The big man
The cute boy
The songs
The concept (AI songs being more popular than songs by actual humans)

Bad parts:
The lead girls are quite forgettable.

For an interesting concept, the plot is just similar to people following their dreams, and that is quite boring.

I love the Asian feeling that animes tend to have. This one feels extremely Western, and I don't like that part. When people from the east make something look Western, it feels incomplete and not genuine enough.

There are a LOT of references in this episode:

James Taylor's Fire and Rain

73 Questions With Vogue

The art piece in Ertegun's room is a reference to Banksy's shredded Girl With Balloon painting.

The Justin Bieber x Taro collaboration for a Softbank commercial.

The currency used on Mars is Woolong (₩). This is the same currency used in Cowboy Bebop, Shinichiro Watanabe's most famous creation.

Overall great episode, I love the wholesome characters and their journeys so far. I am also glad that this show has a rating of 8 here. Looking forward to more of this.

I'd say this manager / coach is a bit of a classic : the retired or defeated former coach / manager who fell in alcohol, finding a new hope with unknown talents. But it ain't bad, he acts like someone useful even if he seems a bit too motivated compared to Carole & Tuesday.

And the DJ was exactly as I figured him : arrogant, patronizing with a pinch of playboy style. I appreciated noticing the Banksy painting that was famous for a moment last year (this one : ).

Anyway, a good episode, this show totally has my attention.

I think shes been doing alot of live action stuff these past like 5 or so years, I dont think she would be doing anything for this considering they already announced a bunch of artists that are composing some sort of song(s) to the show and she wasnt there.

DJ Ertegun was obviously a douchebag from episode 2 so this episode wasn't a surprise.

I know it's a musical Anime but when they started singing the laundromat, I kind of cringe but it was cool that the guy there joined them but he didn't say anything.

Gus is a weird manager to be honest. Looks like a Hell's Angels biker.

Also, did Tuesday's mom bring a boy toy to their mansion? See how he put his hand on the small of her back when they walked away from Tuesday's brother? I'm guessing the blonde guy is her brother. Probably Tuesday is not her real daughter or a daughter of her husband from a previous marriage which is why she doesn't care much about her.

Who knows Tuesday has such a quirky side to her? She just burned her work just like that!!

The only thing I am worried about this show is that 24 episodes may be too long for the story. I am not sure how they can keep up such brilliant quality throughout the show. Somehow I am more inclined to believe that a single cour should be sufficient to wrap up everything. >_<

I’m surprised Ertegun is so unpopular. I mean yes, he’s an asshole, but I don’t know that many people who’d just laugh off someone almost putting my home on fire. His reaction to man-made music isn’t surprising considering he’s an AI musician in a world where 99% of all popular music is AI-made. With his reactions, he’s definitely coming back, and likely for the good of Carole and Tuesday.

I’m also looking forward to Tao and Angela team getting better. I’m hoping the show doesn’t become a man-made-music-is-so-much-better-than-AI-made-music type story and for them to come up with something special and unique to AI, as well, though that may be hard since the people making the music are, obviously, people.

Episode three of Carole and Tuesday is a fact and treated us with a nice new song! I absolutely love it how spontaneous the girls came up with it. Also, the laundry guy was kinda cool with jamming along with them.

The AI music part keeps me intrigued. Autotuning her voice like that just isn't good. But I guess Angela is forced to follow her mothers footsteps...

That Ertegun guy was rude by the way! I think Tuesday did the right thing by burning those music sheets right before this eyes. This shows has been amazing so far and each week I am looking forward to the next episode. The music is great and catchy. I am still a fan of the ED but the OP is slowly growing on me :)

this reminds me so much of a horribly cringy brazilian movie about two girls that are actually singer and songwriters i saw on netflix. of course it's not set on mars or in the future, but it's pretty much the same ride so far, even with the social media focus.
that being said, it doesn't mean it's cringy or horrible in any way. i'm actually really liking the laid back vibe and the cute songs, i just expected a bit more after i learned it was made by the same guy who made cowboy bebop.
this probably will be a bit forgettable, but i think i'll enjoy the ride anyway.
