Living in a monochromatic world really is a big problem and thats what Hitomi is experiencing. She cant fully enjoy what she is seeing because for her all things have the same color...

Ohh i really like this series so much... next week her grand mother will have an appearance. Lets see this one..

I understand Hitomi being hesitant and its character development but fuck man it's annoying. She could have just said "Hey...I cant see colors." What did she think they would be angry at her? I just don't understand why shes shy and hesitant...I mean I would assume eventually we will find out why she hates magic but yeah. I enjoyed the ending when she happily accepted the invitation to the club.

Here comes the drama and misunderstandings now. Asagi loves Shou but thinks Shou is interested in Hitomi. Meanwhile the Kurumi and Chigusa ship seems solid for now.

Hitomi cannot fall for Yuito or can they be together...BUTTERFLY AFFECT PEOPLE!!!

it showed how much she cares for Hitomi but she is still struggling with how Shou feels as well. Asagi is best girl though.

This is certainly a slow burn. I expected to see Kohaku this ep, but I'm not complaining anyway. It was nice how she was able to subconsciously walk on water using her own power. Of course dumb Kawai shouts at her to distract her while she's walking just fine and subsequently falls in. Anyway accidentally falling into the water is nothing serious so I'm glad no ones making a big deal out of it. Hitomi really should just tell them that she can't see colors tho. Tons of ppl are color blind irl (though not to that degree), but it's still nbd.

Nah, we're still in the setup stages of the show. If it doesn't move anywhere in the next two episodes you can put it on pause until the series is over and it has solid reviews, or if something happens that breaks the internet (like Ichigo-hate in Darling). Right now it could go either way.

I'm a little disappointed with the lack of magic in the last two episodes after that ghibli-esque bus-ride-through-time from the first episode. The "walking on water" scene gives me hope we'll see more of this, and the grandmother is coming back (and we've seen the photos of what she's done).

I'm hoping the next few episodes are exciting and/or include strong character development moments.

Although the characters are likable and the animation seems to be consistent, I don't want to get myself involved with too many characters this season. In other words, there are better shows than this one in this season.

You know, I'd be more accepting of these mandatory cliched love triangles and love polygons if at least once in a while the winner was not the main/ most obvious/ first introduced guy or girl. The way it is now, the endgame is set in stone before anything even begins, which renders the whole ordeal meaningless waste of time, with total lack of any intrigue making it plain boring at best and utterly annoying at worst. This looks like yet another show like that. Come on, Japan, can't you make at least a modicum of effort to be just a tiny bit more original?

Okay, I'm really confused about what this anime is trying to achieve. So far, every character's personality is pretty much one dimensional and plain. Moreover, the pacing is slow as snail. It's like this show has no redeeming quality whatsoever to keep me interested.
Oh wait, there's actually one. She uses freaking pocky as a magic wand, I'd admit that that's pretty great.

Solid episode and still pretty high on my personal AOTS chart though not enough to top Seishun Buta Yarō. Major pluses in its favor are the calm atmosphere, beautiful imagery, and a Nagi Yanagi ending song.

However, a not-so-small part of me is wondering just how much we development we should expect from Hitomi. She's still exhibiting a lot of the shy girl protagonist tropes and where we go with that determines where Iroduku sits at the season's end. PA Works has always done a good job writing female leads and Asagi & Kawai are characters with depth so I will keep a positive outlook.

I am very happy that Hitomi joined the photography club, despite the accident in the pool, for a moment I thought she would feel guilty for what happened and would refuse to join the club, but in the end it was the opposite, in addition Hitomi unconsciously used her magic to walk in the pool without using the spell that her classmates had given to her.
Kurumi and Chigusa have good chemistry, Kurumi is carried away by the things he says and that nun cosplay is not bad
The next episode will be the expected reunion between grandmother and granddaughter, I wonder what Kohaku will talk about with her granddaughter?

I was interested with the first episode and the plot. Second episode I lost a little interest after spending more time with the MC. Now I'm just about to drop because of her. She acts like her complete color blindness is an infectious disease that will ruin everybody's life. Being all quiet and annoying instead of being upfront. "Yo is this blue? I'm color blind" "Nah you idiot, it's red, wrong color." Holy shit it's making me cringe. I want to stay because of the plot and the direction I could see it go in, but the MC makes it so hard.

Although very slow in the narrative rhythm, the construct at the end of the episode is there. The characters are all very nice, only the protagonist is a bit too closed in herself, resulting a bit boring. Drawings and backgrounds, beautiful to see.

This episode was fine, if a bit dull to me. The first two eps were great though and with the grandma on her way into the narrative, things might start moving more now.

Not that I dislike simple slice of life, just felt that the events of this episode could have been shortened a bit and nothing particularly surprising happened.

Anyway, interested to see what happens when Hitomi meets young granny.

Well Hitomi's magic wasn't hard to figure out haha!

Her powerful ability that she's unaware of... She's booting her own realities. She doesn't need any of the dust or potions or whatever... She can create magic from her own imagination.

The potential is absurd. She should have the ability to just inject all the colours back into her world at will... but how will she find out? :)

Oof i wish i could be there to nurture this girl into her true ability... Though if i were there i'd have figured her out so very quickly and already be helping her figure out how to solve her problems and take initiative in her reality.

also, what's japan's obsession with Pocky? pocky here, pocky there. they aren't even that good...
also, what is the point of recruiting more people to the club. they said "they do nothing just hang around and capture photos". i get that 4-5 people for minimum club requirement would be fine, but what's the point of more photo club members? more school funds?

The point is having fun.

If a club has 5 members with a minimun requirement of 3 probably the members of the club will want to recruit more members to their club just for having a bigger cast of members. Oh man— couldn't handle the angstyness of the main heroine. Can't she at least tell the others about her condition? Like for what reason is she trying to hide it for? Is it gonna blow her feces up? The plot is okay, though. Just get rid of the angsty feels. 3/5

You have to put yourself in the shoes of the character for a moment, in reality you don't have to do it but if you want to see the point in not saying it to everyone in the school or everyone in the club you'll have to do it. There some things that i do or conditions that i have that i wouldn't like to tell to anyone and i'm sire you too. And the point is not hiding it, the point is that if you don't feel comfortable sharing something personal then you don't have to do it until you're prepared to do it.

So Yuito realized that Hitomi can't see colors, huh.

It can't be easy for her, she ended up getting in trouble for not being able to distinguish colors, and was also afraid of being honest. I can't blame her though, and I'm glad that Yuito respected her wish, and didn't tell anyone. Oh, and the magic training, and the "popocky" were nice too!

But I really think Yamabuki is interested on her, and it's nice that they are going to get closer by chance because he takes monochromatic photos. I can't wait, even though I don't want to see him getting hurt. The kind girl from Hitomi's class is going to get hurt too, the one that photographs insects and animals, because she seems to like Yamabuki.

I don't think yamabuki will get any more than a platonic friendship with hitomi and that's because she's interested in yuito and it's been obvious so far that they feel nervous and awkward in a romantic way when they're alone.

From barely creating a star in her hands to walking on water... that truly is some serious magic development, Hitomi.
As it seems, her being "bad" at magic is just inside of her head. I guess the fact that she can't see colours limits her and as a result, she feels really insecure about everything she does, including the use of magic. But that's just my guess.

That aside, it was a good episode and although Aoi still seems very boring to my eyes, his interactions with Hitomi were nice. At least, he has been more kind to her than before.

And it also seems that Asagi has a crush on Shou... who just was seeing/admiring Hitomi's magic the day before... just in case, I'll say it again: Please, no love triangle/chain in this anime, please.

Oh and it seems best grandma is coming next episode, things will get interesting for sure.

I wonder if Hitomi was born with this monochromatic vision or there was some kind of trouble, perhaps something to do with magic. That could be the reason she isn't comfortable with that.

yo grandma in da house, bout time!

honestly there's something that irks me a lot about Hitomi, like everything about her exhibits "moeness" and yea she's cute, but at the same time annoying if that make sense.

glad everything worked out in the end though.. i really want to know what Hitomi saw when Yuito showed her his drawings on the rooftop. They never showed us if she could see the colors in his drawings or not.

also there's something weird about Asagi, she probably has a crush on either the club president or Yuito, or something like that.

I thought I give this another try but I still don't like the animation and while I love Slice of Life very much this one simply doesn't work for me because it is simply too dull. I don't know why. "Yuru Camp" is more fun and it is as unsexy as it can be but somehow much more adorable and cosy. I think it has to do with the facial animation of Hitomi or better the close to non-existent animation because she is as dull as dishwater.

Hitomi walking on the water shows that she has the potential to use magic, but her lack of self-confidence makes her insecure to use it. I wonder whether her disability to see colours is related somehow to this lack or it's the other way round. I imagine the series will deal with Hitomi gaining self-confidence.

What I don't understand is why the incident in the pool caused these reactions in the characters. It was just a minor slip. Also, I don't get why she doesn't want to reveal that she can't see colours. Well, I guess it's all due to Hitomi's lack of self-confidence and shyness.

Minamigaoka's various clubs start organising a presentation-cum-fair to encourage first-years to join. Due to being a transfer student, Hitomi is encouraged to take a look around and she enters the clubroom of the Photography & Art Club, which is revealed to have merged due to Aoi being the only member in the art section and the photography section short on members. Aoi first introduces Hitomi to the art section after she wishes to try both sides out, giving her a chance to do some free-hand drawing. However, due to her lack of ability to see the colors, she ends up painting a very bold and colorful painting of stuffed rabbits which Aoi finds extremely interesting. Later, the others introduce Hitomi to the photography section through a hands-on session, but when the drama club's presentation is pushed forward, Yamabuki has to go take photos, leaving the organising shorthanded and Hitomi is roped in to be a model. With a dry ice effect on the pool, she is instructed to use blue starsand, which is sold at the magic shop for non-mages to create magic, to walk on water and the new members are challenged to take a mysterious-looking photo with their cameras. Once again, Hitomi's lack of ability to see colors makes her use the wrong sand which causes snow to fall instead, but despite that she is able to walk on water until Kurumi calls out to her in worry, making her lose concentration and fall into the water. These two incidents let Aoi realise that Hitomi is unable to see colors and she begs him not to tell anyone, apologising for what happened today and thanking him for letting her remember colors through his drawings.

They seem to be pushing her to be a photographer, but I hope Hitomi joins Aoi in the art side of things. Because art (at least the art of Aoi) is the only way she can see color, it would make for interesting symbolism if Hitomi uses a paintbrush as a "wand" to hone her connection to colors in the same way she was using Pocky as a "wand" to practice her connection to magic.
