This episode was rather a lame episode. First they delayed a episode. For the delayed they wait for two weeks for dumping information which we don't care about if you care! Then you are dumb bucket for info. Cardinal system and two self proclaimed god or administration It like Sao is starting again First game their were one administration Ka first season Sao Then this season we have two admiral wanna be administrative god One bad _¶ one resistance That like star Wars rip of content. Why can't they just give us a one masting ans destruction anime series for enjoyment. Sao go in the hole and dig up something new |

boring episode, but much needed story telling that the previous seasons lacked. didnt mind it, but these cliffhangers are killing me lmao looks like kirito got himself into another world saving scenario, his sword is so cool, and i think better than the blue rose one that eugio has. the last scene gave me some goosebumps, since it looks like we're going into the meat of the content next week, which is exciting and to all the haters, keep hating, cause the anime is here to stay |

I've long ago accepted sao's bad writing and characters but shit like this pisses me off. Instead of wasting time on garbage like this you could have shown the arc you skipped, (idk what was skipped i simply heard an arc was skipped). I enjoyed the fairy trash more than this. SAO defenders are framing criticism to info dumps as not understanding world building. You can have world building without people standing around explaining pages and pages of arbitrary concepts that might explain why a singular event happens later. Look at HunterXHunter(to use your avatar) - Magic system and world building all came about by watching antagonists and protagonists interact with that world and reveal the differences to our own through cause and effect. Not sit in a library, cafe, tavern, hallway, command center, open field, for 10's of minutes on end and just narrate with lip flaps. It's really bad story structure and writing and it's frustrating that many in these threads make excuses for it. "Just wait guys, it gets better! This is needed to setup what happens later". Fune wo Amu had more compelling story telling and that was about making a dictionary. This is just "infodump" the anime. And it is getting worse, not better. You can't compare manga series with a Light novel one |

Kirito's face when he hears that the cathedral has 100 floors.... Priceless!! XD Animation of the fight between Quinella and Cardinal was sweet, good start of the second cour. Eventho it was quite the info-dump this episode, it made me understand quite a few things. So hyped! |

Tower climbing intensifies! Kirito is having that Aincrad's flashback. Wonder if they are gonna skip floors this time too. The info dump is necessary to understand Underworld's history. It was even longer in the novel. Honestly, you can't please everyyone. There are those that are mad that they skip some of info and those that think it's too long. Just shut up and keep watching. If you want an anime with only fighting and action, SAO is not it. |

The exposition dump is pretty weak writing (albeit very necessary to understand what the hell is going on), but thinking about it in relation to Rath's goals is more interesting: ironically, Kirito's good intentions will only have bad consequences if he stops the destruction of the world and lets any Fluctlights survive, whereas Cardinal's intent to destroy the world is entirely necessary to stop Rath's plan. |

It was a sweet moment for Cardinal to ask Kirito for a hug, something so simple to ask for after being inside the Great Library for 200 years. Bless her. =) Like with the last episode, the info-dumping continues with the understanding of how Cardinal was able to clash with Quinella, which gave us some nice fighting animation. Cardinal wasn't able to beat her with her currant state, so she was able to escape to the Great Library and has been there since. Her plan for the whole world if she does beat Quinella and takes over as the new administrator does sound interesting, although I don't blame Kirito for being so optimistic in thinking of another way to avoid resetting the whole place in order to restore normalcy. Either way, the info dumping is over and Kirito and Eugeo are ready to go get their weapons back. With Cardinal on their side, re-obtaining their weapons shouldn't be too difficult, I hope. |

Tokoya said: supernicolasman said: But...They did show us.....yeah i agree it was way weaker than the other episodes. Sometimes shows don't understand that showing us is way more interesting than telling us. I have a bad feeling after this episode for the rest of the season, hope it's not that predictable and actually throws a few surprises and punches along the way. We got the rest of the backstory/flashback and then the rest of her episode was explaining her goals, followed by her explaining how certain things would work, what else was there to even show lol? nope that was telling us. An info dump with a few clips of what happened while she is telling the story is a clear way of telling the whole mythology of the show in a whole episode (or here two). That's something that some movies and tv shows do which really doesn't help the viewer get invested in the story at all. You need to take time with telling us about the whole story behind a world. Here it seems the writer only wanted to get rid of this episode fast so they try to do as much as they can do in a very small amount of time which really doesn't help spiking the viewer's interest. If it had taken more episodes with us learning more and more as we watched the show, it would have been a more effective tool of storytelling than what they did here. I was into the previous episode because the story behind it was quite interesting but this episode really threw me out of it and shows that just reciting a story (yes with images here) really doesn't help anyone. I'm pretty sure even kirito couldn't bare one more second of listening to her. The last thing is how they tell you what the final goal is in such a way that it fells quite boring, and that's why i hope there is more to it than just achieving this goal. |

It may be time for them to understand the visual part in anime is also important. I don't remember being like that during the two first seasons. supernicolasman said: Exactly. But I don't get you when you say it's weaker. At least half of the episode have been like this up until now. 10 to 12 showed some moment that let think it could at last change, but we're back to zero again.yeah i agree it was way weaker than the other episodes. Sometimes shows don't understand that showing us is way more interesting than telling us. I have a bad feeling after this episode for the rest of the season, hope it's not that predictable and actually throws a few surprises and punches along the way. Of course but i like some moments like with the integrity knight, we didn't know what was happening but this new world felt fresh and exciting. Even the previous episode which while was an info dump started to tell an interesting story, but this episode really threw me off into how much it felt like the writers didn't care about their own mythology and just were reciting as fast as they could what they needed to say. This one was definitely more weak than the others, the others still had what i call the exciting unknown. But here telling what the whole goal of the show would be. I asked myself "is that it?". Which is why this one is weaker than the others |

Great episode btw. I'm not a SAO fan (I actually dislike the series), but I can't really let that comment slide since it is ass backwards. SAO fans are the people like you who claim to have liked this episode. By most subjective counts and many objective counts this was an awful episode. I'm sure you've heard the saying "show, don't tell". Give your viewers an experience, not a story. This series has done significantly more telling than showing. For the people who want a story it is doing a great job, but it has rightfully earned a lot of the hate it has received from those who are looking for an experience. |

That cardinal/Kirito little moment of hugging was precious in its own way. I hope they get new outfits and power upgrades after receiving their weapons. I wonder how will it end for Cardinal and Kirito, it sounds like it will be emotional judging from their discussion. I'm really hyped for the next episode, |

The visual part of this anime is just insane, the lightning, the details, the fights are 10/10, what a top quality product. I think they managed somehow to explain what happened, but i guess they probably had a lot of information to sum. I wonder what will happen after they defeat the Admin xD Btw, it's probably possible to remove that memory thing from their brain without having the original memory, because they almost did that with that integrity knight and they didn't have his memory block, so maybe there is another way. I'm really interested in the plot, wonder how much there is besides this. |

If you truly think only action and eye candy can make someone interested in a story than you definitely have seen the worst in anime. I see the best in anime, and the anime i watch don't have eye candy, constant action or info dump. there are other ways to tell a story than these 3 aspects, the thing is, the writers weren't smat enough to think about it, that is all. |

As we roll into now 40 minutes of info dumping because it can't be enveloped within the adventure as it progresses. Fun times. |

Well it was not so bad this episode, a little slow, but the good thing is that we have more information about the relationship between Quinella and Cardinal in addition to having a better notion of what happens in Underworld. The fight between Quinella and Cardinal was decent enough, although short, Cardinal finally managed to escape from Quinella and locked herself in the library for 200 years, in which she acquired knowledge of the library. We also learned how Quinella created the Integrity Knight and how she takes away their memories, besides Cardinal teaches them how to help Alice. Cardinal's prediction that there will be an invasion from the dark territory tells me we will have a war in the distant future (I have not read the NL, so maybe I'm wrong), Cardinal's idea of destroying Underworld once they defeat Quinella seems unreasonable. Cardinal moved me a lot, her request to receive a hug from Kirito was tender and it is reasonable that she felt rewarded, after living alone for 200 years, feeling the warmth of another person and contact with her must be an indescribable feeling. At least Kirito wants to try something different to Cardinal's plans, which is classic for the hero, to look for a third option. When Cardinal mentions that the central cathedral has 100 floors, I laughed a lot when I saw Kirito's face, I think Aincrad's flashbacks went through his mind at that moment. Cardinal gives a power up to Kirito and Eugeo, she gives them the weapon domain spell, that means they can fight the Integrity Knight without being at a disadvantage, and I'm sure Eugeo's sword will have abilities with ice , after the image in the mind of Eugeo and Kirito, I just hope that something useful and that the opportunity to have an epic fight. It seems that the next episode will have action, I do not know, but when i saw that the next episode will be called "The Crimson Knight" makes it clear that they will meet or fight with the Integrity Knight who used a bow and we will have new OP and ED. |

It was a bit hard to follow along with the whole Cardinal and Quinella relationship tbh. Apparently 45%~ of this volume was exposition, but was adapted into a single episode, which makes sense. 2-3 episodes of this wouldn't be good for the audience. This reddit comment cleared up most of my confusion though. I wonder how they'll keep things from staling with 100 floors and 30 integrity knights to fight. I guess we'll find out! |
