I am pissed I had a friend spoil something in an anime. How did/do you watch and enjoy an anime after it was spoiled? Is the experience ruined forever or is there hope to enjoy it. I feel like even if I watch the moment t won't hit me like it would have. I would have cried like a bit** but now I will just be mad and sad.

Well generally I avoid the anime until I forget the spoiler which doesn't take too long. Then come back and hope that I can repress it until after the spoiled part. However since none of my friends talk about anime that I'm not caught up with its not really that big of an issue.

That's sad. For me I don't have any problem no matter how much I'm spoiled I still enjoy it to my fullest
THERE EXIST IN THIS WORLD SOMETHING NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN
IT'S GENTLE SO VERY SWEET
THE GLIMPSES IS ALL IT TAKES TO MAKE A PERSON CRAVE IT
THAT'S WHY IT'S NEVER BEEN SEEN
THAT'S WHY THE WORLD HAS KEPT HIDDEN
MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN
BUT ONE DAY, IT WILL BE FOUND

BY THE PERSON WHO IS MEANT TO FIND IT. BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT WORKS.

it depends on how much it is spoiled and how big of a spoiler it is
there are dumb trailers that contain spoilers in them that should not have been included

Usually I end up avoiding the anime if it is a spoiler that is important but also... boring. I love watching an anime that I am spoiled to something that is really weird (EVA comes to mind). Also, many of my friends have given me made-up spoilers, which usually makes the show even more surprising.

I feel like you are asking about the boring spoiler I mentioned earlier though. I absolutely hate it when the spoiler is something like the Thanos Snap. If it involves character death, or a confession, it is almost always like this. I don't want the climax of the show spoiled, because that usually is the highest point of pay-off in the show. It is spoilers like those that force me to avoid shows.

"The Titanic finally sinks." Yes, I've been through that, but I always think that maybe the way he saw the anime is different from mine. Then it could be that he skipped some scenes that I will see later and that I will understand better. Think that your experience watching that anime will be different compared to your friend's. It's the only way I deal with that.

Depending on the spoiler, my crappy memory forgets about It after a few days and I'm cool to watch the show now
Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength.

i tend to accidentally spoil a bunch of anime i watch one way or another. it's sucks but it's not like i wanna stop watching or anything. i wouldn't be able to forget the spoiler if my life depended on it either. i still tend to enjoy the anime for the most part though - even if i know about some big plot twist or someone's death.

i know what you mean about how the moment won't hit you the same. like i spoil characters' deaths and then i feel nothing while i watch them happen because i already got the initial shock out of the way

It depends honestly. Like if I'm theorizing who the main villain is, and I just can't wait, I'll spoil it for myself. Same goes for I'm I'm not understanding something, and it's explained later, but I can't wait. (Trigun for example)

But if it's something with a story that's suppose to make you think, I won't spoil it and I'd be mad if I did read a spoiler. (Erased)

A study shows that being spoiled has a favorable possibility that viewers will enjoy it more, I know I personally like knowing storylines before I see it, it doesn't lose anything for me, the short term enjoyability remains there and I can still analyze the show. Really, I don't mind spoilers anymore, sometimes it lies as an item of anticipation, which excites me more than not knowing.

what is a spoiler hue
It's good that Slop leveling won the CR awards with such a power gap, Gaijin Weebs don't deserve good anime.
Not after what they did to frieren, kusuriya, and many others

Spoilers don't ruin your enjoyment. Just continue watching that show like you'd normally do, and stop being like "I've been spoiled and I'm not gonna enjoy it," this mentality of yours will refrain you from enjoying it, not the spoilers. If you're supposed to enjoy a series, you'll enjoy it despite the spoilers.

Sometimes you just have to live with spoilers. If the anime is interesting enough, you can still enjoy the journey to get to the spoiled part, which can sometimes be pretty good. I always get spoiled multiple times when watching long shounen anime. Often, it even motivates me to binge-watch everything up to where I was spoiled, so that I can get into some entirely uncharted territory. I think it's just part of the experience.

I try and avoid spoilers but if I can't escape a particular spoiler then I just ignore it and focus on enjoying the anime, regardless of whether or not I know that a certain character dies or what happens in the last episode.

I don't like spoilers either. I like to avoid it whenever I can. If surprisingly I read something I shouldn't have, I'll try my very best to not think about it and move on.

I prefer to watch anime with pure experience/mindset minus expectations and unreasonable demands. I want to be shocked, upset or whatever real raw emotions I feel while watching. I don't want to ever ruin it.

First World problems, right? You've got it so rough, I feel for ya man.
Unless you decide to go live under a rock somewhere, you're going to encounter some sort of a spoiler every now & again.

You've likely read a plot summary/synopsis or seen a preview/trailer before watching an anime.
Every single one of them is a spoiler to one degree or another.

Knowing beforehand that something specific happens might be a spoiler, but unless it's also revealed when and/or how it happens, chances are you'll still be able to enjoy the anime.

Make sure your friend is aware of it if you haven't seen an anime that they start talking about.
If they don't know you haven't seen it, you have to blame yourself too.
If you tell them and they still blurt out spoilers, they aren't much of a friend and you should probably stop talking about anime with them.
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Sorry if my sarcasm is bad, it's not my first language.

If the spoiler is through talk, then I am fine with that because I would not know how the situation visually occurs. If the spoiler is a brief visual presentation of the show, then I would not understand what happened- if the spoiler is not the show's introduction - so my interest about the show increases.

I get you. I simply take long breaks (1 year to 3 years) from anime from time to time. That alone if enough to make you forget the details, at least that is how it is for me. I can't enjoy the anime as much as I would have either, if I already knew the events beforehand.

I like the element of surprise so spoilers completely ruin that aspect for me.

Real life has way too much out there to keep your mind occupied, so forgetting spoilers becomes as easy as forgetting acquaintances when you take long breaks.

I dont care about spoilers one bit. I was spoiled the end of Code Geass back in 2011 without even stating it (thank you youtube with your gret recomendations) and still enjoyed the show to the fullest becoming my most favored show. So to conclude, no spoilers do not bother me at all.

I understand how people get kinda rightfully mad when they get spoiled cause really the only thing to erase it is time of forgetting. I usually don't give a shit if I'm spoiled, especially for a huge series that I don't plan to watch for a long while cause I'll most likely forget whatever the hell the spoilers are. Unless it's like a major plot point for example I was dicking around with my SnK friend and I was like "you know what, I'm tired of not knowing what's in eren's basement" << even though I only read one volume and everything I knew from this point was all from videos and what not and had no right to even want to know lmao. Probably won't forget this but I think in a way it'll influence my read or watch to pick up on stuff which is the more positive spin on spoilers in my own mind. << Most the time you'd have to reread or rewatch the series to pick up those hints or subtleties for a "oh wow" moment.

Sometimes, I need a spoiler to get excited enough to start watching a series. I don't really mind spoilers. If a story is ruined simply by knowing the outcome of one event, it wasn't very good to begin with...

Sometimes spoilers are rather unforgivable but since certain spoilers are damn impossible to not run into unless you go cold turkey from the internet entirely, I've learned to adapt to being spoiled. Essentially, for me, no matter how badly anything is spoiled what I care about is seeing how things got to that point, not the point itself. This isn't always true, though. I managed to watched all of Jojo Part 3 without knowing what Dio's Stand power was so when I realized he was able to stop time I nearly jumped out of my skin. There was a certain "oh fuck god why" reaction that seeing Dio use ZA WARUDO!! for the first time got out of me that I'm sure not many people have been able to have. So I get what you're saying, its just that I've just figured that's a part of life and I'm learning how to enjoy things regardless of how spoiled they are for me. The enjoyment definitely isn't going to be the same though.

Well, if it's a character death for example it kinda suck, but if the timing wasn't spoiled I find it to matter fairly little in the big picture. It can still surprise you, trust me. And even if something like the ending gets spoiled, I'm more about the journey anyway so I don't mind too much. If the show is really good it will still have impact on me anyway. The only time it really sucks is when it's a mystery based anime where trying to figure it out as you go is the main appeal. For for shows like One Piece and Ashita no Joe (two examples where I got spoiled about stuff) I didn't really enjoy it any less because of it.

On the other hand if I got spoiled for one of the main AoT mysteries that are floating around, I'd be pretty annoyed.
I probably regret this post by now.

On one hand, if you already know what going to happen, then why waste time getting to that point?

But on the other hand, sometimes a show can be more about the journey than the destination.

ahah, before i watch any anime i normally look up the entire plot and major deaths. When a new character comes up i look them up to learn about them. i also like to look up all the episode synopses in a shorter anime. When i don't have to worry about build up or surprises i can sort of enjoy the show more.

the only anime i didn't do that to too much was Gintama, I learned about Gintoki's past and his teacher before i wanted to and i was really pissed. I guess you just have to take it as is. I've noticed people who are really anal about spoilers sort of force themselves to take enjoyment out of the thing that was 'ruined' for them. you can still enjoy things even if you were told a bit about them
