Finally Borr is the star of the battle. Damn how much I love her chara. And those fan service moments and angles were the highlights of the episode.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

This episode was way more uneasy than swimsuit episode has any right to be. After kaiju appeared episode's direction seamed like it is constantly is omitting something. This surreal atmosphere remained even after kaiju was defeated. It was interesting episode however in the end I feel like I was cheated out of something important.

Maybe another (more clear) dream sequence would have helped. Tho be honest I was expecting one when Yuta was sleeping in the train on the ride back home.

Today's episode was dedicated to the spectacular bodies of Akane and Rikka in swimsuit and I am very grateful, thanks Studio Trigger.
Yuta's dream gave as some clues about his memories or past battles.
Rikka and Akane in swimsuits was glorious.
Rikka's friends made fun of poor Utsumi, but the lucky one was touched by Akane, the boy was in heaven.
Is amazing the perseverance and loyalty of Anti, also his ability to copy the attacks of Gridman is cool.
The Kaiju of today was incredibly impressive, the best was when Borr and Gridman got together and they combine in Buster Gridman, Borr's drills fulfilled the mission, besides the small Borr presuming is very funny.

Was really interested in that split second vision Yuta had, looks like he/Gridman were defeated in a pretty bad way sometime in the past.
Rewatch the beginning of the first episode when Akane is looking up, that might explain his amnesia.

Was thinking the same thing, those 6 lights are definitely Yuta, Gridman and the Assist Weapons.

Panning still shots of teens in swimsuits. I know I've come to expect this in anime, and I get annoyed by it every time. Either be a fanservice show or don't be, but suddenly shoving tits for one episode when the plot starts to get dull comes off as lazy.

I do like most Trigger shows, and don't even hate fanservice, but beach episodes are always a bad sign imo.

Lol, that guy Gigguk saying Trigger is saving anime with every release, tbh I'm disapointed with the story and shitty CGI, good animation and amazing art, but the plot... ehhh
I'll keep on watching 3 to 4 episodes more to see where this is going... but not impressed until now.

Dose anyone notice that:
A. Everyone falls asleep on the train ride.
B. The land demolished after everyone leaves.
I think theses are important hints about the reality of the world they are in.
Given the setting in the original source material. Are they going to pull a Big O season 2 finale on us?

I love how well the show takes its time with shots. The art and animation is solid, shot compositions is good too. They just let things hang out there appropriately before continuing. Show really does a good job of showing a more natural pacing to conversations and shots. I mean yeah the show is an ode to ultraman and as a result it can be pretty generic in the mech scenes and what have you.

But everything else is so damn good. The mystery elements continue to keep me in their grasp to. Basically the 90% of each episode that has nothing to do with the focus of the show is fantastic, and then you get to the rest and it's a love story to ultraman. That part isn't exactly my cup of tea but I can still see the show for what it's worth. Way underrated for the season even with so many good shows airing right now. I tried reading through the lower rated reviews like normal, but none of them really pick up on the small things that subtly make Gridman pretty good. They just assumed it was supposed to be A 100% mecha fighting show like other trigger action flicks and didn't give it much of a chance. Whatever; it's their loss.

It was never so boring as today... it's not even entertaining. I guess it's mostly a thing made out of love and echoing old fans wishes.

2.5/5 Staying at leas for the mddle-show turnabout. Spirit up, myself !

Nice beach episode without the beach. Got to see beautiful Rikka in swimsuit, and a pretty cool fight in this episode, with all of the techniques used in this episode.

One thing I have to say though is that Anti is a little unnecessary, its kind of like that one antagonist that just keep on appearing just to annoy the protagonist kind of thing. Not to mention that Anti literally appeared out of nowhere in this episode. But judging by the flow of the story, I hope that he gets any form of redemption xd

Small brain: watching for Rikka and Akane
Big Brain: watching cause it's an animated TsuPro series
Galaxy Brain: watching because it's a giant homage to 90s Takara brands, Obari,Tsuburaya, Ultra Series, Transformers, Braves, mecha and tokusatsu

Well, I should have guessed this show would include an episode like this, the famous beach river episode. Not that I'm complaining or something, it was good nevertheless. I actually liked it.

Some shots felt off at times too but at least the battle itself was nice. I also wonder what happened in the end, it seems that Kaiju wasn't completely defeated or something else is happening. Kind of curious, being honest.

Utsumi was more bearable this episode too. And although it wasn't the way he expected, he received quite some attention from the girls, including Akane. His face during the rafting segment was hilarious as well.

The formula felt repetitive for moments but I don't really care much about it. I don't find the show boring and it gives me some nostalgia vibes so I hope it keeps me as much entertained as always.

P.S. 1: Oh, I realized Borr is a girl... why did I think they were all guys in the first place?...

P.S. 2: They didn't show Anti's shout when he transformed... It's annoying as hell but I had already gotten used to it :/

The fanservice and bugging Utsumi for being chubby was a little much for me. So far I've been really into it, and having a mountain turn into a kaiju was badass. My mom actually has a phobia of mountains and kind of imagines something like that. But it was just a giant ploy to put the characters into swimsuits. And of course the girls are "sexy" and the dude's all look pudgy and like they're elementary students. And that's even besides the point of sexualizing high schoolers. It seemed honestly irrelevant.

Managing a trip episode with still the epic components of tokusatsu. Really liked it again, and found that combination totally epic! Looking forwards to see what's next.

"Junk" sure still cost quite a bit to be honest, and to be honest I wonder why they can't transfer him to a more portable and powerful system, or at least why they didn't even bother with it?

Well, let's see what's next!

I wonder how long it would take them to realize who's who.
So far, Akane seems to be doing all of that just because, which isn't a good setup for a villain. I feel as though if she were to be exposed, it would not come off as a surprise to anyone other than Utsumi.
We' got our share fare of swimsuits this episode it seems.

I'm still most curious about Anti, that seems a hybrid human-kaiju and those guys from Neon Genesis Junior High. You know, the original Gridman had 3D modeled weapons sent to the computer world but these ones are just human.
