Either take a break watching it or watch something of a genre you're completely unfamiliar with. That tends to work for me.

In my case, I can't say I lost interest. It's just the number of animes I watch is declining as par when I was younger. There are some amazing titles, but I guess it's that I don't really have much time for it + life in general happens.

I still do happen to watch 1-3 animes a month but I really feel like I'm missing a lot. πŸ˜‚

No, because the anime and manga industry are big and there are a lot yet to be discovered that will likely entertain me.

Sigh then watch better anime. I've opened my search range bigger and I've seen anime differently. This past 4 months, I found new favorites one after another. I found the only anime that managed to emotionally moved me, the only anime that did after 10 long years. So yes, I can say I am not bored of anime.

It is not. I also watched Monster and Death Note not to long ago, Death Note, september last year, Monster, August last year. Loved both, but I still managed to find ones better. There are so many anime out there. 2 anime can't possibly be qualified as the best when you haven't seen the thousands of thousands of existing anime.

You can see Monster and Death Note in my extended favorites.

I lost interest in anime. I believe that I’ll always watch it throughout the future, but I’m just not into it as much as I used to be when I first became a fan. I just feeling like in this point in time there are better things to do with my time. I used to watch most of my anime before I went to bed, but now I’d rather use that time to get extra sleep or work on assignments for school.

It's less it being a cyberpunk, more for it's philosophical message, but yeah, thanks.

If you ever find yourself in this situation just take a break. I would say a couple of months at the very least. Once you try to get back into watching anime try something out of your comfort zone and experiment a little bit. If you don't want to try different genres just watch some anime movies or something and ease back into it.

That of rest I do not think it's a good idea; A few months ago I started watching anime again after spend almost two years ("break"), now I'm on such a streak to see animes that I dislike that I do not remember the last one that interested me from beginning to end.

I do not know what the best solution would be.
But I will not leave it under any term.

Thanks buddy. before manga i was very into classical american comics like Horror Tales and stuff. marvel and DC are kinda boring for me, idk why. manga is cool.

There's a time I don't feel like watching anime. At that time I would watch k-drama or j-dorama instead. But I usually back to anime after one or two series of drama.

Gonna give my 2 cents here...

I began watching anime (althought I watch captain tsubasa, dragon ball, sailor moon etc back in the 80's and 90's) 3 years ago. It coincide with my boy being born and so I was at home for one month (Portugal you can do that).

I start talking at work with a guy who enjoy anime and told me about the top 20 or so and he advice me all of them (death note, steins gate etc).

I didn't knew how to download and at that time I found Seraph of the End and I watch it and love it. Since then I watch 400 anime (ovas, movies and specials included).

In the beginning I saw in Mal some forums and such and I watch some naimes never touching those that they suggest me) Only in March of 2018 I watch Steins Gate (since the new one is coming) and I Try to watch 15 to 20 animes each season. If I have time I watch some older ones.

True be told- my friend (and brother) which are both great friends got tired of anime. they've said they watch everything that was good and nowadays only crappy anime comes out. I don't believe them. BUT I believe this. If you start with only the best, the great majority 90% of season anime will never be on top 20/50 (unless they are sequels and such). And so I can understand people who watch top 20 (something like that) will be bored with 95% of the season anime. Since I only watch one, now I am watching Legend of Galatic Heroes, I can appreciate those "deem" inferior. After all they are releasing what 400 animes per year?

Anyone that asks me about anime I always ask what they like and althought I only suggest one or two "top" animes. And warn them that if they watch only the top they will be bored with the rest...

This is my take.

Btw, I think everything is possible. I have 37 years, one child with three years, a wife that is blind and I still watch 150/200 episodes of anime per month.

Sometimes I wonder If I should be watching those animes I deem "Meh" but after writing here what I am writing I think not. We much watch good and bad and judge for themselves. My top 10 favorites anime only Steins Gate is on top 20. One of my favourite animes It's Fune wo Amu and Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku which they don't even even have a rating above 8 on MAL.
Youjo Senki, Konosuba, Tsuki Ga Kirei, Tamako Market (The movie) and Toradora have all above 8.5. With only Sora yori mo Tooi Basho and Steins Gate above 8.5.

I start watching action oriented anime, switch to some soccer (because of Captain Tsubasa nostalogia), then romance and now Slice of Life.

Anime is far greater than TV Series in terms of originality. Most movies on hollywood are the same. Only a couple of ones per year really stand out.

What I do nowdays it's switching from tv series and anime. There are some good series nowadays. La Casa del Papel (I don't even like crime series); American Gods, The terror, Lost in Space 2018 will be coming out in a couple of days. Try some japanese tv series with Million Yen Woman (very witty and looks like a slice of life/mystery series), Re: Mind (unfortunally the ending was not to my likeing)... Enfin... Watch other stuff. Then switch.

Sorry for the rambling. As a 37 year old guy who live in the 80/90/00 and could watch shit because there was nothing good on our TV I am trying to catch up. You guys with 20 and so live in the golden age of diversity. A million books, a ton of tv series & movies & animes & Boardgames...

I don't think that is possible for me. I live in a small village, when I just got internet at the age of 7 I started playing browser games, in the next 2 years I got into video games (like Minecraft...). After 1 or 2 years games started to drain me, I'd play like 4 hours without rest and then fell like I did nothing.(if it's an RPG I still enjoy it).In the following year I usually just watched random YT videos of people playing games. It was something really wrong, I couldn't sleep well at night, I felt I was doing nothing with my life. And then, one day, my sister came to me and said:" Hey, do you wanna watch Naruto with me". I replied with:" Why not" and the following night we began watching. I didn't even try to realize that I had a story before my eyes. It was around ep 20 that a burst of feelings hit me. With the death of Zabuza I came to realize that I found something, a medium that could entertain me, it gave my life a purpose. Cause my sister wanted to watch just like 1 or none episode per night, I got ahead of her. In the following 4 months I marathoned the entire series together with Shippuden.

I don't think I could let go of anime. It is the only thing that is keeping me alive at this point.

I'm not tired of it, but I started watching anime much less frequently because there are other things I simply prioritise. First and foremost, a fighting game I play competitively (SoulCalibur V) which I really enjoy playing and I need to keep my skills sharp. Then there is the Grisaia no Kajitsu visual novel I read from time to time, and hunting for shiny pokémon in the older generation games (mostly 3rd/4th gen). 1 year ago, I was in a period where I took a break from those things and I hadn't even gotten into visual novels yet at that point so I watched a lot more often. I still like anime and I can't see myself losing interest, but I'm not a hardcore fan either.

I'm personally not bored with anime. I did get burnout after watching an excessive amount in 2016 (over 100 titles if I'm not mistaken) and slowed down watching it in 2017 but I've recently started watching more anime again and loving it for the most part.

I personally haven't gotten bored of anime, at least not yet. I always find more interesting things to watch and can watch something from a different genre or something if I'm bored of what I'm watching currently.

You haven't seen an incredible amount, but this just shows how some people tire of a medium faster than others. No shame in reaching this point... Its a point I haven't hit yet, but we'll see if it ever does.

Almost 900 completions later I def think I can manage enough to hit 900.

If there is such a point, I haven't reached it yet, and I've been doing this hobby for almost a decade now.

Not sure if it's because I haven't watched enough, or if I watch things too slowly for it to happen, or if it's because I got into anime only as an adult, rather than as a kid or teenager, or if I haven't reached a point in my life where I feel a need to stop watching, or what.

You don't have to force it, take a break. Come back to it whenever you feel like it. Maybe rewatch your favorite series or try something out of your comfort zone. You can even study some aspects of anime/manga you like and make it feel like an interesting project or something.
