All the hype!! I'm hoping A1 does a continuous 50 episode run rather than going split cour of 2 25 ep seasons. It'll probably be the latter though. :^( |

Well at least we got a date for the series, however... I'm questioning the staff change at least the director. But then again, I don't think it would be that bad I guess. Then again Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei was rushed only because the series didn't worked for anime format. Soooo... |

Ah, glad they changed the director, I know this guy will be able to deliver exposition even more boringly than the novels did now. What the hell are you changing directors now, A-1. But hey, maybe this means they are still open for that Progressive anime (not with this director though, please), Itou Tomohiko said he didn't want to tell the same story that was already told but hey, he's not the director anymore sooo. |

This is quite the issue I have since the director of Mahouka... isn't very well known to be honest. I do like the arc but they'll make the exposition of it work like utter shiet. Especially one of the novels to be honest. |

A little clarification/spoiler, just in case you're interested in the fact you mentioned: The girls almost get raped, and things go far enough for you to think it'll happen for real because there are some rules in that world, and in its habitants minds, that would make this look like a simple punishment for something the girls did a little earlier, and all they can do is accept it. And yeah, animating that will surely be a good thing since this one scene leads to the next step in the story, and doing it properly would bring an impactful vibe along. |

The characters in this arc are actually AIs/bots right? |

If they were created by programmers using a computer then those are what you call an artificial intelligence- masked as "wannabe human" so we'll feel some sympathy or empathy for them, thus forcing some drama once again for their artificial suffering. Lul. As for the rape part, I think it's the only way to destroy Kirito and the destruction of one's sanity while watching his waifu's suffering is always entertaining to see. |

Since it's a spoiler i'll be using this again: They come from project Alicization itself. The scientists/programmers in the project found out the true nature of a human soul. So the people in that virtual world are copies of real human souls - human baby souls to be more specific, they ask parents to do something with the babies, and copy their souls, no harm included - Yeah, they found a way to do it. Later, the people involved in the project take these brand new baby souls to some hightec installation in the sea and raise them up in a virtual world called the underworld - they dive in as their parents, and raise the virtual babies with the copied souls untill a certain age, and die/log out leaving them to build up the world on their own. |

I mean she appears little but this is more focusing on Eugeo and Alice rather than Kirito himself. He's more of a secondary character in this arc. And being fair if you're going to give it a 1 because of the fact that she's not going to appear until probably Volume 18, then its best to just not watch the arc altogether. Just saying. |

Nice to hear will be boradcasted this fall, i read it have a good amount of drama and from the comments above from people who read the novels seems so, but i like both Overlord and SAO for this, they do not make compromises and go straight to the point. This will be a good fall season for drama isekai fans, and hopefully they will announce the third season of Overlord too. <3 |

Well, the director change shoudn't impact the show that much. I mean, Ito is a good director, but SAO never had a particular direction style that you could attribute to him. The show relied more on it's episode staff, especially on the animators and action directors (on S1 Takahiro Shikama, on S2 Tetsuya Takeuchi). True, Ono isn't a great director but he does have a knack for action. Sooo... might be cool. |

I read the original web novel and all the main heroines except for Alice (main heroine in Alicization) gets raped. Asuna is raped by Sugou in VR, Sinon is raped IRL by Death Gun, Tieze and Ronye (new side characters) are raped by their senpais in Alicization, Sinon gets raped again in Alicization by the main antagonist (poor girl), Leafa gets raped by this weird transforming worm, that was just disturbing. Thankfully all that is way toned down in the light novel and completely gone from the anime. Yeah it's weird. |
