| Pretty sure most of the love hate comes from how SP adapted the show from the manga. The adaptation skipped on a lot of parts (especially rootA), which would expectedly piss off a lot of source material readers. Plus there's also the fact that TG is one of the better seinen series' out there, so that only serves to fuel the polarity |

| I like that it brings new anime fans. I really like that people like it and that it helps them to watch more anime... It definitely seems to be a starter series. One which people don’t just watch that series but they watch a lot of others. So I think that part of it makes me happy. |

| Why would it bother you? I mean, you should be happy when people talk about your favorite anime. It gets more seasons and you can have nice conversations since everyone knows it. Btw you start disliking it when you dont watch it because you probably get influenced by other people's opinions easily. I've seen a lot of haters of the show. | Yes. In terms of the anime I can't help but enjoy it while hating how bad it actually is adaptation wise. It's the reason why I hate Pierrot so much and gives me no reason to believe that they'll actually adapt Re: faithfully whatsoever and with that in mind I know I'll still enjoy the anime. |

| Loved the anime (let's not talk about /A though) and loved the manga even more. Then :re came along, was good for a while but has now turned to complete shit. So, yes, in a way I do have a love/hate relationship with the series. |
| I'm another person who loved the original TG manga. I had even higher expectations for :RE considering the jawdropping ending of the first, but no matter how much I read it never really clicked the same way the original did. I couldn't bring myself to continue after that one infamous chapter that read too much like fanfiction. So its like love -> falling out of love situation for me :( |

| I'm one of the weird people who liked season 2 better than season 1, so I guess I kinda fit your description as well in a sense. I disliked it after watching season 1 and thought about dropping it but then season 2 made me like it again. |

Impressions The first anime adaptation were alright. After reading Manga i realised it's a trash due amount of scene cut. Again it's kinda edgy on both anime and Manga. 2nd season in particular is a trash Also ost aren't same as op/ed. I am quite sure these people when i mentioned about TG always remember about Oshiete Oshiete lmao. 1st Manga end, 2nd one came and somehow it's more matured than the 1st one, less edgy and stuff gets more complicated compared the 1st one. I liked Tokyo ghoul re. With the anime adaptation announced, i already know it'll be a disappointment lul |
