| It's crazy! Especially since I've been hearing about how the underage drinking themes in this would be a problem in Japan (normal drinking age is 20 there). Totally can't wait for this! So much hype for the best comedy of 2018/2019 without a doubt. |

| This is great news. Kamiya should be on Iori and I’m thinking Chika Anzai For Chisa. I’m also thinking Sawashiro Miyuki For Azusa. Hopefully J.C Staff can pick this one up 👌 However Silver link will also be acceptable. |

| I am super excited, but i wonder how well they are going to adapt it given the underage drinking, i guess it might be a necessary evil to remove some jokes about it just to bump the characters ages up. | Tsutomu Mizushima (Prison School, Shirobako, Plastic Neesan) would be the perfect fit to direct this kind of show. Also, picking anyone other than Kamiyan for Iori counts as a sin, period. |

| Unlike a year ago, I don't think JC Staff should take the reigns, and that's because I haven't been impressed at all by anything they've put out lately. I suppose Madhouse or Mappa are also good choices, but a part of me wants Studio Shaft to take the lead, not that I think the anime should be Shinboed up, but rather that they can handle the complex themes of Grand Blue with maturity and style. Added bonus if they decide to cast Kamiya Hiroshi as Iori, I know he doesn't work exclusively with Shaft, but they got a good relationship (hopefully). Although... I don't really want Silver Link... Even if the art is pretty good in their shows, the stiffness in their animation puts me off. I suppose Sunrise would also be pretty good? With the added benefit of Fujita Yoichi in the director's chair... |

Lately they've been playing it way too safe and I very much doubt they'd be able to pull this off. I really like Grand Blue, and usually I prefer watching anime over reading manga, but with series like this it's hard to have high expectations. It's a big obstacle to actually make an anime as good as the source material when that source material has things that don't translate well when in motion, like Yotsubato would not work well as an anime due to things like the random transitions between panels that suddenly have Yotsuba pop up out of nowhere, that would just not be as great in motion because it's suddenness would have to be cut. Comedy usually suffers most from this, some punchlines work better in manga format. This is not me saying it's going to suck though, but I think we should temper expectations. Also, when I saw people talk about how there's underage drinking I just thought "they are of age though" before looking it up and wow yeah they totally aren't, Iori is 19 and you have to be 20 in Japan to drink. That's actually a potentially big problem for whoever decides to adapt this. I don't think (and personally am glad) JC Staff will adapt this, lately they have only really been adapting very safe anime. Prison School was the last unsafe anime they adapted, and that was all the way back in 2015. If JC Staff end up animating it, hopefully they'll prove my doubts towards them wrong |

 I can't keep my hopes up high because it's just a rumor. It got removed off of AnimeJapan's lineup, so who knows if they'll still have the event. I hope so, since I would love to get a Grand Blue anime. And with a series like Gintama ending, I think I need my doses of over-the-top reactions from another anime and Grand Blue can fill that void. Also, Kamiya as Iori and Sugita as Kouhei, or else I riot. |
