lol at Kanna.
LMAO at Riko's brain exploding.
Tohru has darkness in her heart.
Dat deep dive.
Otosan? He's taking Tohru back? NO!!!
Dat ost is fire!
Kobayashi getting irritated.
Kobayashi messing up in the morning.
lol at Kanna's reaction to the milk.
LMAO at Kanna with the rice.
I've noticed this episodes ago, but I didn't want to say it. The windows at Kobayashi's job look like the card spots on a duel disk.
Tohru's back. I thought Kobayashi was going to finally cave and go save her after seeing how trash her apartment was. I expected too much.
Otosan is here. I figured Tohru escaped.
Oh shit! He shot Kobayashi.
Don't take Kobayashi's maidragon.
Kobayashi drove him away.
Dat hug.
Shouta you lucky fock.
lol at Kanna and Tohru's faces in the station.

What a great finale to an amazing series. Awesome OST and battle. This was originally a show I never planned on watching much like Kemono Friends, but due to the power of artwork, I changed my mind, and it was the right decision. I would have never forgiven myself for committing such a sin.

I hope for season 2. I need more Tohru, Kanna, Lucoa, and Elma in my life. Shame on Japan for those BD sales.

Also....Shouta you lucky fock.

Lovely and heartwarming anime. I really liked it.
The 13th episode had some drama, but we already had 12 comedy episodes, which is the usual, so I think of this one as a bonus.
Tohru's dad looked scary, but I think he isn't that bad. He's just strict and overprotective.
The last scene was cute. Kobayashi met Tohru's dad, so it's Tohru's turn to meet Kobayashi's parents. :D
I hope we'll see them in an OVA or eventual S2. I hope there will be a second season when there's enough source material.

Well, that was a pretty sweet ending. I felt like the conflict with Tohru's dad was a bit rushed, but just a bit. The emotional part of the conflict had sufficient build up, I believe. Tohru stood up for herself against her family, and Kobayashi had her back. I believe this was a very relaxing show with really polished and comfy visuals and solid character writing, at least in the case of the main duo. The bond these two share and the dynamic between them is absolutely lovely, not to mention how important they are in jumpstarting character development for one another. Thanks to Kobayashi and Tohru (and sometimes Kanna), this show is like a hot cup of chocolate milk for the soul.

I really enjoyed how subtle the anime was with actual relationship building compared to the manga. Taking into account Kobayashi's inferiority complex, difficulty in accepting that she's wanted in a romantic sense by tohru, and the very slight internalized homophobia that was implied in the anime. All in all I believe that Yasuhiro Takemoto did a beautiful job with this show.

I'm really torn on this series (took me forever to actually finish it). Part of me thinks its bad. Or maybe more fairly, exceptionally mediocre. I was disappointed to see this series was KyoAni. And regardless of how exactly I feel about it. I think it's definitely their weakest series I've seen. Yes even weaker than Phantom World. But part of me thinks it's actually pretty alright. And Kobayashi and Tohru were kind of a cute and well characterized couple. And it was capable of genuine humor and warmth. And the ending made me feel something in this cynical cold dead heart.

But I just can't in good conscience say it was a great series. I'm struggling with acknowledging it as a good one. It was just SO very stupid with its concept. And a lot of the characters and humor didn't work for me and even made me slightly uncomfortable. I know she's a fan favorite but I was not on board with Lucoa. And her bizarre tits in face relationship with the little shota boy.

At its best Dragon Maid reminded me of the insane irreverence of Nichijou. One of the studios strongest series. It was ridiculous and rooted in how ridiculous animanga tropes and culture can be. It had a more cartoonish art style and not just the KyoAni faces (you know mostly). It bizarrely managed to pull off effective character moments despite how goofy it is most of the time (KyoAni's specialty). But ultimately this was too stupid, not trans formative enough and as much I liked the ending I think I'm going to give it a 6/10.

Not sure if trolling or very bad taste. Maybe both.

Wow, they really tried to force some "bigger drama" into this finale. Can't say it worked out that well :v

Ehh too bad, when this show was hilarious, it was indeed quite hilarious, I just wasn't fond of all these serious "I'm powerful dragon and humans are enemy/inferior/stupid" segments, mainly because most of them were just booooriiiiiiing and they got repetitive fast. Random comedy parts were so much better... That's why Kanna's scenes were da best <3 I guess I liked Kobayashi-san and Tohru, but in they-are-okay way - and rest of the characters were just dull, not counting only Fafnir, who was also hell of a butler (hehe).

To my surprise animation, while still really good, didn't look as amazing as in other KyoAni shows - but it suited the mood, so I enjoyed it anyway. Can't compare it to Nichijou though.
Oh, and the opening was super catchy.
In general - one of the better recent KyoAni anime series, but they can do much better. 7/10

That was good ending, but i wanted the emperor of Demise and Kobayashi to have fought a bit more. Overall it was a great anime and i loved each and every character especially Kanna. Nah dont get me wrong i am not that fond of cute characters but she is an exceptional because she is a dragon and extremely cute, even Saikawa is smitten with her.

About as expected last episode, not much more not much less, not what I like but not bad by any means

Show overall was good, visuals up to standard, adequately quirky, sometimes great humour. Can't imagine Kyoto meaning this as their magnum opus, and it duly isn't, but not a throwaway neither.
I do agree with much of the points in the two month old first post in this page, but all the characters were presented pretty well, and that probably has priority over any other evaluation in my case

Not much more to say actually. 6-7/10

I gave it a 8. It's a sweet, if kinda meh show that grows on you somewhere. I'm no fan of Kyoto Animation so I didn't see anything memorable but I did enjoy it for what it was worth. I did love that Dragon Battle and wished there would've been more like it but more fleshed out like a real fight.

Love the English Dub(I watched the first few in Japanese but stopped because I just couldn't take it anymore)and watched the remainder that way. The comedy could've been better though and I feel like if some of the characters weren't in the show, it really would've been better without them(Big Boobs Chick, The Shota Boy to name a few).

8/10. Would watch English Dub Again.

I don't think I can describe Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon as anything else but 'lovely'. This series managed to charm me into its depths by the second episode, and proved me wrong when I had no expectations about this at all. I was sure I was not going to like this. Every character made their little space into the series and none of them was overshadowed by others, they were all beautiful and interesting in their own way.

My rating is mostly based on enjoyment, and I can safely say it's been a long time since I last enjoyed a show this much. It was hilarious, heartwarming, totally fun to watch everytime. There was not a single boring episode. Every character was likeable, even Fafnir who quickly grew attached to Takiya even though he seems cold and tough. Tohru and Kobayashi's relationship was nothing short of precious and I loved seeing them interact everytime, how they bonded and how Tohru wasn't afraid to admit she loved Kobayashi.

My favorite character was Kanna because I don't think I've seen such a beautiful and adorable non-human character before, she was something else, and I totally relate to Saikawa's reactions every single time, lol. It was short, for how much I enjoyed this I wish it was longer. I'll be expecting OVAs or a second season, because I truly could see Tohru, Kobayashi, Kanna, Fafnir, Takiya, Lucoa and the rest interact for years.

Strange anime, if you look at it just like everyman then it is slightly better than analogs but if you let yourself to think about conception of anime and studio which made it (a legendary one) then it's become a little disturbing. Once again some almost yuri anime with simple comedy and light melodramatic elements - too typical from start to end, it is just like a sandwich brought to you by great cook which made you happy many years before with delicacies BUT he just wants to be in a trend now in our pink gum anime era. Anime itself is alright, but tendency of the anime industry is awful and this anime is just one of many another nails in a coffin of next talented studio. 6/10.

I'm nervous since it's the very last one.
I really want Kobayashi to tell Tohru how much she means to her, and vice versa!
I love that Saikawa has a Flower Language Dictionary ♥ That she borrowed from her maid.

Bring on the crazy horror portals and angry family drama!

I was introduced to this show by a handout and a poster from the Kyoto Animation stand at the Comiket 91 at the end of 2016. First I was sceptical by seeing the maid with a dragon tail. „wtf?“ But later I prioritised this show in my watching scedule and I was glad I did that. It was fun to watch! And I was glad that they didnt forget the heartwarming side. Well, not the final ending I expected to see (expected more drama), but nevertheless the show did a great job! Top animation style, KyoAni desu! ^^ And I also enjoyed the great voice actors of Kobayashi and cute Kanna! Dont forget the truly awesome fhana song for the opening! fhana is one of my most famous musicians and this song one of them I enjoy the most! So the start of every episode was like a private concert for my ears. xP In some episode the charas went to the Comiket, too. It was the Comiket 90. I was surprised seeing that animated. Comiket 90 was my first Comiket, some great memories. ^^ Thats another hook to that show that connects it to my own life. I like stuff like that! Another point is the daly life feeling of a normal Tokyo worker I shared, too, adding some extraordinary touch, I experienced myself, too. No dragons of course. xD So I will never forget this show. The show is nothing special for most anime watchers, its a nice filler within the portfolio of an animation studio. But its a solid cute and funny piece of work. It deserves something around 0,8 because of the top quality of some parts. With my personal bonus points its something like 0,87. ^^ Thanks again, KyoAni!

While I did actually like that sudden dramatic and serious pivot, it was executed in a rather rushed manner and wasn't as effective as intended. The scenes at the very end and Tohru's introspection and reaffirmation however were very touching.

Overall, this show was quite consistent in delivering entertainment after the relatively slower first few episodes, and an absolute pleasure to watch. It was hilarious without being overbearing, and managed to splendidly balance comedy with the endearing and heartwarming scenes that strengthened the attachments with the characters and gave many silly moments much more weight and meaning. The underlying themes added an extra layer to everything that had transpired throughout the show, such that sweet undertones were often present even if the scene didn't overtly contain feels.

All of the characters were very entertaining due to their eccentricities, and had excellent chemistry. Despite the characters outside of the main three receiving little growth or development, they were granted sufficient screentime to shine and leave an impression.

It was great to see Kobayashi opening up and feeling happier as she formed new and heartfelt connections. Even though throughout most of the show she didn't directly express how dear Tohru was to her, their bond had clearly and steadily become closer and stronger, and to see her explicitly lay it all out in the final episode was impactful. I really liked the mother-daughter dynamic between her and Kanna as such scenes showcased her development and caring nature, on top of being incredibly sweet.

Kanna is the epitome of a moeblob that causes diabetes :3 Adorable in personality, and _mostly_ innocent in how she interacts with others and the world around her. For a character who is deadpan for the most part, she is quite radiant.

Tohru was ultimately a bit more compelling than I had initially expected. Beneath all of her shenanigans, there are very warm feelings of peacefulness, happiness, and self-realization. This is juxtaposed with the dread of how ephemeral it is for her, but that makes it all the more meaningful and worth being treasured. She is Kobayashi's guardian dragon "spirit", and Kobayashi is her Dragon's Treasure.

The OP and ED are both fantastic and catchy.

I NEED A SECOND SEASON!

Overall Rating: 9/10

Nice fight animation near the end, even if it's short. In this episode alone, Kobayashi has expressed multiple expression and emotion many more times compared to the other episodes. This is 1 big leap in strengthening Tohru's and Kobayashi's relationship.

This show was really fun with varieties of situations ranging from light-hearted comedy to some intense moment such as when Tohru's father threatened Kobayashi. Kyoto Animation has delivered another amazing semi-action show. (There is some epic action animation!)

I don't really wish for a second season, but if they ever did. I'll gladly watch it! experience it...

These final 2 episodes were really charming...Tohru's dad logic is certainly sound, but you can also argue that sometimes it is just worth it to give it your all for what you want even if it may lewd to collateral damage, you should live your life being happy with those you love, no shame in that.

With the first 6 eps I though about giving this series a 9, yet while it keep going strong, it just doesnt feel like a 9 to me, it could have moved me more, shocked me more, or surprised me more, and as a slice of life, while deeply enjoyable, there were some less stelar episodes. Not exactly the same but if I had to compare, Non Non biyori feels just like a better slice of life for me.

S2 would be nice, but KyoAni changed their policy in these last 7 years, so I may just go with manga route, eventually.

8.3/10 = 8

Dragon maids never looked as cute (and dangerous), and for everyone lewding Kanna, please stop, leave her out of your sick fantasies!

Well the anime ended just before the point where Iruru shows up which was chapter 30 and they're now at chapter 67 so there's more than enough material to adapt. As to whether they'll make a season 2, I don't know but it's certainly possible but would be dependent on anime sales, manga sales, merchandise sales, whether the Mangaka or KyoAni want to do another season.

I thought the previous episode was the most serious but this one is just too much. Btw, isn't Tohru's family on the evil side of the dragons? So what's her dad doing spouting bs about order? Lol although I totally get his point. Anyway, this show is just really soft-hearted feel good SoL and I like it the way it is.
